We eat a lot of Thai food, and this is one of the best Thai restaurants we've ever tried. There's a young lady who works here who is always very rude or seems angry--whether on the phone or in person--so we prefer to do takeout since we don't want to deal with that when dining in. But the food has been incredibly consistent and very, very good. * The jungle crispy chicken is like the garlic chicken from Buddha Ruksa in West Seattle. It's addictive--like crack--and it tastes even better when you order it spicy. * Great Pad Thai--and no tomato sauce here. * The Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) is another favorite of ours. * The crispy pork belly wasn't our favorite. About a 3/5. * The Panang curry is rich, flavorful, and loaded with vegetables and meat. * Everything is well-prepared, tastes fresh, and they don't skimp on quality or quantity. They stay very busy and get a lot of takeout orders, so sometimes our food is delayed. They recently started online ordering, but it still needs some work: it doesn't show an estimated wait time and doesn't always send the "ready for pickup" email. This review is based solely on one item. The pad Thai. In my opinion it was two sweet and the sauce was too thin. I would guess they use more sugar and less if any tamarind. The service was fine but I did order online to go. Make sure you ask for utensils if you need them as they aren't automatically included with your order. The restaurant decor was casual and modern but most of the tables were covered in dishes from former diners. While I was waiting the food coming out of the kitchen looked pretty good. Mostly fried rice. Like my dish though more starches than protein. My last time in town I tried a different restaurant a couple blocks away that had a better dish but they were closed when I wanted to eat. read more

Always up for a new Thai place, we got takeout from here one Friday night. While browsing the menu, I was intrigued by their note about the spice... they use Thai chilis and stated that their dishes are therefore "hotter than others". Message received! Heeding their warning, we ordered all of our dishes at one out of five stars, except for the curry which we ordered at two stars. + POK POK NOODLES ($16): This dish was served at room temperature, which surprised us since the menu doesn't hint at it. The description states it can come dry or in a soup, so we selected the dry version. The noodles had a strong garlic flavor and a slight sweetness about them. Several tender slices of BBQ pork came on top and raw spinach, carrot and bean sprouts were on the side. I've never had another Thai dish like this before, so it was great to try, but per my personal preference, it tasted better after being warmed up. + DRUNKEN NOODLES w/ TOFU ($15): My favorite dish of the night! The noodles were delicious and soft with a slight chew and char from the wok. Broccoli, onion, carrot, bell pepper, bamboo shoots and cabbage were all cooked nicely, still retaining some crunch. Several large pieces of tofu were included which tasted great as it absorbed the sauce. For being one star in spice, this had a noticeable kick! + PANANG CURRY w/ CHICKEN ($16): I really enjoyed this curry which was the perfect creamy consistency, rich with coconut milk and had a moderate spice at two stars. It included a reasonable amount of tender chicken slices, bell pepper and Thai basil. You can't go wrong with this! + LEMONGRASS VEGGIES ($15): Carrots, bell peppers, cabbage, green beans, broccoli and zucchini were simply cooked with lemongrass. The vegetables were zesty and fresh. The staff was friendly and the food was prepared in a timely manner considering that we ordered shortly before 5:00P on a Friday night. They have a lengthy menu with many dishes catching my eye just based on their names (Calm Before the Storm, Broken Net and Waterfall Beef, just to mention a few). This place definitely has something to fit everyone's tastes whether you're looking for traditional Thai staples or for something more unique! read more

Food: Very good. We had the Thai fried rice w/ chicken and the eggplant. Both were very good, with good sized portions that created a good value. Suggestion - add your own Celtic sea salt to the fried rice, to taste. It really brings out a lot of flavors and gives it a little something special. (And, Celtic sea salt is really good for you! Not medical advice.) Service: We happened to arrive during a rush. They were obviously working hard, but some tables seemed to get more attention. Local regulars, perhaps. Suggestion to the folks waiting the tables (each of you) - careful not to leave tables waiting while you talk leisurely with other tables during a crunch. Ambiance: The ambiance is fine. It's been clean each time we visited. Casual Asian food seems to typically involve staring at cases of pop or other food products and a soda fountain, so that's certainly not unique to this restaurant. It looks like they started with a nice vision and then things (stuff) grew/increased organically. As I said, not unusual. Maybe not the best spot if you care about the ambiance, but not bad, either. read more

I'm literally shocked by my experience here. We've had a few bad customer service experiences at this place and they are always short staffed. But the food is really good so we have continued going back. Today was the last time I will ever come in. I tried to use an owed Pad Thai that was missing from our previous pick up order. We were told when we called in about the missing item that we would have a credit placed under our name. I asked to use the credit today and no credit was found, and so our reimbursement was not honored. I hope stealing $16 from a local family makes the owners feel good. You lost long term customers that really loved your food. read more

After a long break from this restaurant due to calling for takeout and a man yelling and then hanging up I gave them another chance. I found out they have online ordering capabilities. They use Smile Dining the same as the other Thai place. The order was correct, but unlike the other Thai place they do not have even remotely accurate texts or emails for progress of your order. I still like their food, and so do alot of other people as this place was busy, busy busy. read more

I ordered takeout directly from Thai Eatery over the phone. I found it interesting that the person taking my order did not ask how spicy I wanted my dishes, so I assumed it had some spice to the dishes. When I got home, I found the food to be very bland, especially the Pad Thai and yellow curry. The potatoes in the curry were also undercooked. That being said, I really did enjoy the beef dumplings and jungle crispy chicken. The Tom Kha was okay, and the crispy crab wontons showed no sign of crab--they were simply cream cheese stuffed. We got take out from here a few days ago and I was so incredibly surprised by how good the food was. I went in expecting 'Americanized' Thai food, but it was genuinely authentic, legitimately spicy, and so full of flavor. I got the pad kee mao and my wife got the pad thai and both of them were simply outstanding versions of the dishes. Unlike many restaurants that just serve a lot of noodles and sauce, these were full of meat/tofu and vegetables and so much more balanced. The food was made to order and ready in about 10 minutes. They seem to have a lot of takeout orders but manage them very efficiently. Can't wait to go try some other dishes on their menu soon. I think I might have found my go-to Thai spot close to home. read more

Visited again and the fresh rolls (veggie) and the cashew nut (chicken). The fresh rolls came with avocado instead of tofu and that was a very welcome and wonderful change. The lettuce and ingredients were very fresh and the peanut sauce was delicious. The cashew nut chicken was also delicious. I got level 2 spice and it was a wonderful warm hot. Review for Thai Eatery at Snoqualmie Ridge Best food in ridge but this place has the worst customer service in whole ridge area. I'm typing this message at 8.10PM Friday 13 2024. There timing on door says 8.30 PM last order and 9 kitchen closes no exception. We were there party of 4 at 7.45 PM.. As soon as we entered we saw one couple or party of three got seat. We were clearly welcomed by there host with clear vocal node of no and he looked at clock said to our face no for in dinning. This is not the first time, this has been almost 3 or 4th time or may be even more since we lived in ridge (2017) Eveytime we ordered food over phone for take out... there phone is always busy and then they keep you on hold forever. Supporting local business is always good thing but after today they have lost 1 customer. Some of there servers are even rude when talking to you. Wasn't dining in, just take away is what they could extend, but got the jungle sauce crispy tofu medium spice level and Thai iced tea. Both were off the hook. This is the best Thai in the area that I have had. Jungle crispy chicken is great. The red curry is the best that I have had. It is worth noting that this restaurant is on the spicier side, so be aware of that when ordering which level or star (1-5) on your next order. Another thing worth noting. I've heard good and bad about dine in service. Personally, I only get takeout and the service is awesome and the staff is very friendly! read more

A few years ago, I wrote that the Thai Eatery was my favorite Thai restaurant. We had moved away and haven't been able to come back until today. And, it is absolutely still my favorite Thai food place. Who'd have thought that tucked up on Snoqualmie Ridge there'd be a Thai place which values authenticity over catering to safe American palates. One of the worst experiences I have had from any servers in my lifetime. The Asian looking lady at the front desk who also happened to be our server was full of attitude, I'm Not sure why ?! We went there at 7.25pm on Sunday evening only after checking their closing times on google (8.30pm) and Yelp (9pm). Me and my husband arrived with my 2 kids, while 3 of our family members were 10 mins away. The hostess kept talking to two Caucasian men who had come for takeout barely acknowledging us. After 5 mins she gave us a very cold welcome and said we were too late and that they close at 8. She would make an exception and let us in one time however next time for party of 6+ they need a reservation even during the day. Fair enough, we apologized first not knowing their closing time and were grateful for being seated.( they had many Togo orders they were serving just no one dining in there at that time) The hostess then came after few mins to take the order. While taking the order she had a very stern and a tone which felt like she was doing us a big favor by offering us free food. My little one was hungry and crying, she was giving him weird frustrated stares. My husband walked away with the kid yet she seemed visibly irritated. ( I understand you may have difficulty hearing me but she could have come closer or even asked me to come closer) .Her body language and the way she was projecting herself on us was very unsettling. My friend has food allergies so I asked if the drunken noodle had msg, she again gave me a very condescending stare like duh! It has soy so it will have msg. My mom took my crying baby to the front desk to get a pen to pacify him, there too she made a big deal passing rude comments about my mom and baby. I know a crying baby is not pleasant to hear, but hey the restaurant was empty! If it was so much trouble for them to have us seated at that time, they should have just said No to begin with. It would have saved both us the trouble and time. Getting us seated and then giving us such rude treatment is not what we wanted! This is probably my longest review ever. But I have never had such an experience anywhere before! And trust me we eat out a lot and love to explore new places. Not being respectful towards our mother and sensitive towards a crying hungry 1 year old was a deal breaker for us. It almost felt borderline racist to me. We walked away never to return. read more

If you haven't tried "gas station thai", don't let the location put you off, this is great Thai food. The steamed beef dumplings are a great recent addition and a family favorite for us. Flavor was okay, a good serving of crab meat incorporated into the well cooked, moist rice. Disappointed that the tomatoes and onions were spoon sized chunks. Most Thai places pride themselves in food prep and honestly smaller pieces would probably have made the dish more flavorful instead of an occasional bite that tasted only like onion. Maybe they're cutting corners? Thai iced tea was rich and flavorful. The restaurant itself is the typical strip mall arrangement, narrow and deep. The front was pretty full so I was seated in the narrow pathway that leads towards the back of the restaurant. If you're in the area, it's a decent option. read more

I live nearby, so I have visited this place about 7-8 times. The food was always decent and fairly tasty even though the service from the lady who owns it is a bit cold, but it's efficient and they're usually doing more take outs than dine ins. My friend loves their Pad Thai and I have tried many of their stir fries and curries. However the last time I ate from here on June 30, 2023. I did a takeout of their chicken fried rice. I brought it home and ate about 1/3 of it while it was still hot, and then started feeling really sick as I ate it, so I set it aside and went to bed, even though it was 5:30 PM because I was starting to feel really nauseous and queasy. Woke up that night and was really sick and was sick for the next three days. It was some kind of food poisoning. Even though I was better my stomach pain did not subside for the next three weeks and I could not eat very much without stomach pain, and no spice at all, so I was living off mashed bananas and mashed potatoes, so eventually I went to the doctor, and after a lot of tests, she diagnosed a bacteria that comes from unclean hands or similar unhygienic stuff. I had to then get on a course of antibiotics, and had to take 12 antibiotic pills a day for 10 days for a total of 120! This is the most antibiotics I have ever taken, and it really killed my gut. I stopped eating out for a while, and was describing my harrowing experience to a local friend and she mentioned that she had a similar kind of experience at this place. She and her husband are vegetarians, and they had ordered the green curry with rice and right after eating it they were both pretty sick and had to cancel their plans for the rest of the day. Unfortunately, that convinced me that this is not a one off incident at this place. I am not going to go back. It seems like they make tasty food, but they do not observe proper hygiene all the time, and one incident of the sickness was enough for me. It is October now and four months have passed, but I still have trouble eating chicken because I keep remembering how sick I got after eating chicken fried rice from this place. I would have given them some feedback about this food poisoning and infection, but in the past the lady has not been nice when my friends who I brought to this restaurant, tried to give some feedback about one of the dishes they ordered. So I did not contact the restaurant after my experience. You may never experience any sickness after eating here, and I still have friends who really like their food, but I am just too scared about ever trying them again. read more

My family stopped by last week for a late dinner and had a wonderful time! We generally like spicy food but it'd be fair to say that Thai Eatery's spice levels are quite high, level 2 was surprisingly spicy (in a good way!). We loved everything we got, crab wontons (more cheese than crab but we're happy with that!), sizzling trout with an amazing curry sauce, red curry fried rice, drunken noodles, pad woon sen that we got made with no spice for a child and it still had ton of flavor that even the adults enjoyed it. I came here on a Sunday afternoon after a hike to grab some lunch with a friend. I got their pad kee mao with fried tofu, spicy level 5 but apparently in-restaurant, they can't go above spicy level 3 but will bring the dried Thai chili over for more spiciness. That was interesting. Service was friendly and we got checked up on a few times during the meal, and the food was flavorful. The noodles stuck together though, and I thought the ratio of noodles to vegetables was off in that there was a lack of noodles and lots of vegetables - more vegetables than noodles, which is odd. Meal came out to be $13 post-tax, and the restaurant didn't have many people (around 4PM on a Sunday) so it felt mostly covid safe, our waitress did wear a mask. read more
