Came here with a party of 12 and ended up waiting about an hour for our food to come out. There was only two other tables at the time and others were being seated by the time we ordered. Everyone got their food before we did. Including another large group that had sat behind us. The lady taking our orders was also the hostess. I had to approach her to ask about our food and she had mentioned that they bring all the food out at once and most of our food was just sitting in the back waiting for the entire order to be done. When I constantly saw them passing by with the other large parties order as it was done being cooked. When we finally got our food it was alright. Ordered the shrimp fried rice and the shrimp had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. I will not return here. read more

Have only tried the chicken, tofu, and shrimp pad kee mao / drunken noodles but shit is delicious. The spice levels are a little higher than most places near by, so a thai hot will be HOT which is a good find if you feel like spice is hard to run by. Place is pretty and clean, with brown and green decor, almost always empty, and on the side for the mall so you can avoid the trafficky entrance. read more

I love Thai food, and this is my "go-to" restaurant for lunch. I eat here 2-3 times a week! Service is friendly and food is consistently excellent. My faves are Penang Curry, Thai Boxing, and Basil Gra Pow (all with chicken), but the Pad Thai is also good. This place is probably the only Thai restaurant I go to when I'm craving it. The curry is just right for me, it hast the right amount of heat and it's still good in flavor. The appetizers are awesome as well. Inside, it's nice and spacious. This isn't the best place to watch a game, but an awesome place for a date or a nice night out. If I had to choose any chinese restaurant or here, this place would get it hands down every single time. This place is a lot more authentic than any "Chinese" will ever be. Thai Emerald is a tucked into a shopping center on the back side of what seems to be a cut through road, as it was quite busy. Still, parking was easy to find at 4pm. The restaurant is clean and open, with plenty of seating. Our waitress greeted us and brought our drinks while we looked at the menu. We eventually decided on our dishes and the appetizers were brought out quickly. The spring rolls were really delicious, handmade and speckled with shrimp. The homemade sweet and sour sauce that accompanied was delicious. So much better than the nuclear red sauce you get in other places. The entrees were mixed. Mine, the garlic stir fried shrimp with onions and carrots, was wonderful. The shrimp were fresh and well cooked and the sauce (I do wish there had been more of that for the rice) was balanced and really flavorful. My only complaint was the sheer number of onions. It was insane and really overboard. My daughter got the Siam Shrimp. Seriously so gross she couldn't eat it. The peanut sauce on the shrimp just didn't work. It was oppressive and thick, while being sweet and nutty. Even though that doesn't sound bad, I'd advise you steer clear of this dish. If not for the dish above, I would have given this restaurant 4 stars, but I just can't do it with that dish sitting on the menu, waiting to terrorize another unsuspecting diner. read more

I've passed by this restaurant several times and I finally decided to check it out. I was quickly greeted and seated and decided on the vegetable Pad Thai with tofu with a spice level of 3. When my food arrived everything was fine except for the fact that the tofu was left off my plate but that was quickly corrected when tofu was brought out to my table. The inside is nice and the service was very friendly. A fair warning to those who like spicy food a level 3 definitely had some kick to it so if you proceed with a spicier level use caution. This place has amazing service! I placed a phone order during the COVID-19 pandemic. The lady who assisted me was so sweet. My food was ready before their estimated time and I was helped right away, even though I showed up early. What made me want to leave them a 5 star restaurant is that then gave me an antibacterial wipe when they returned my credit card, so I can wipe it down. That was the sweetest gesture! they are the only restaurant I've been to during this pandemic to do that. On top of all of that, they have the best pad thai I've tried in all of Charlotte. I live in Charlotte and don't find myself in Huntersville often. Tonight however, I found myself near Northcross in Huntersville and hungry. I had a craving for Thai food and decided to give Thai Emerald a try. I'm so glad I did. Entering the cozy restaurant I was instantly greeted and seated. Drinks and appetizers came out fast and were yummy. It didn't take long for my entree to appear either and every bite was amazing. I'm a fan, and yes, I'll be back. The server, hostess, and even Derek the owner, came by our table throughout the meal to check on us. Yep. They're the best. I had a tiny bit remaining that I brought home and will now have to fight my husband for. Ha! I've already sent a message to one of my church friends that we're taking them to our new Thai discovery. I pass this place all the time and I am glad I finally gave it a try. It looks closed from the outside but they are definitely open. They are really nice and accommodating during COVID. I was able to place my order online and when I parked in front of the front door an employee came out and took my payment. Service was really fast, the menu has a lot of options and the prices are good! I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and an order of spring rolls. I believe this is the only Thai restaurant where the Pad Thai does not come with chicken and shrimp but it did not bother me. The Pad Thai was great, it wasn't too sweet and the peanuts came on the side. The entree was a really good portion and I was able to make 2 meals out of it. Excellent food. Management is hands-on and responsive. Staff are friendly and attentive. The restaurant is family friendly, portions are generous, and the food is some of the best Thai I've ever eaten. We were 3 adults, a baby, and a toddler. We ordered an appetizer, three entrees, and ice cream for dessert. Every dish we ordered was excellent. Even my 2 year old grandson enjoyed the food! Finding Thai food of this caliber in Huntersville was quite a surprise. As for Thai restaurants in the Lake Norman area, this unassuming establishment is truly a hidden gem. They don't need the hype and the ads; they just serve consistently excellent food. My personal "go-to" is Tom Kha Gai and Green Curry. At Thai Emerald, it's always consistently spot-on. Green Curry is impossible to serve "mild," and the waitstaff will not lie to you and promise they can make it "mild." However, whenever I ask them to try really hard to make it as mild as possible, they actually do well in keeping the heat down. The service is awesome (and yes, they're still wearing masks), and while the decorations aren't as elaborate as the "Thai Houses" around town, this place is clean, comfortable, and accommodating to your tastes. read more

Love this spot! Recently moved to the area and needed my weekly Thai fix. I like authentic Thai cuisine and like it extremely spicy. It is hard to find that combo in many Thai places around the country (I travel for work). I have had the green curry, shrimp rolls and pla chuchee (spicy fish curry). Each item was perfectly cooked and had the spice level of level 10, Thai hot solidly down. In the two weeks I've been in the area , I've eaten from here 4 times. Service is also good and while the inside of the restaurant isn't much to be remarked on any true food lover knows that means nothing. It's all about the food and service. We had the Beef fried rice, spring rolls and red curry. This place has legit Thai food. It's very satisfying. New to the area and I'm glad I found a good Thai spot. The spring rolls are crispy and the dipping sauce seal the deal. My wife had the beef fried rice and she loved it but I thought it was a little dry. I had the red curry and I enjoy the curry but the chili they have use is extremely spicy. Be careful I have warned you. Last week we had ordered two dishes for dinner take out - the seafood delight and the vegetarian/tofu pad Thai. For the seafood delight, there was a decent amount of seafood in it - but not very good quality. Nice variety of veggies, and the noodles at the bottom were pretty good. Just nothing amazing, and probably wouldn't get it again. For the pad Thai, it was SO sweet! I had to water it down at home, and drain off some of the sauce. Good portions and very fast pickup time (around 10 mins). The pad Thai wasn't the greatest, but I'm extra picky on pad Thai. The service was friendly and that's all I could ask for. read more

The food is always delicious and the service is always fast. This is a great place to go to lunch if you don't have a lot of time or for business lunches. It is also great to sit and relax while you enjoy the food. The wings are juicy and crispy. The lettuce wraps are different but fun and good. You get plenty of each ingredient. They are light but filling and if you love a crunch, this is a must. I always get the Pad see ew or pad thai - Other things I have tried are the peanut curry chicken - If you like curry then this is great. Hubby always loves this but I am not a huge fan of curry so would not order this on my own. The royal chicken is a huge hit with my family. All meals are large portions but this one takes the cake. We can never finish it, its great if you like general tso - its sweet and the sauce and tastes great on the rice.
