My first visit....Service was fast, courteous and the restaurant is very clean with light music in the background for ambiance. My Tom kha gai was warm and creamy and the drunken noodles with chicken was very tasty. I loved the veggies were still crisp with the noodles This was my first visit and I will definitely be back soon. Enjoyed my meal‼ I also ordered a to go order of two large soups for work it is convenient and close to home with parking in the front of the restaurant.

Their kitchen takes their last orders by 7:45pm on Sunday. The woman that answered the phone was pleasant. They ask for tracking info with a QR code. We ordered the 4 piece crab Rangoon, curry noodles with chicken, made it with their some peanut curry sauce, Thai hot and a gang masaman with chicken, with mixed veggies, no baby corn and medium plus spice too. Their crab Rangoon isn't good. I only ate the guts of one of mine. The wonton is super thick and quite dense and doughy. It's not light and crispy, the way I like and prefer my crab Rangoon. It was not carb worthy to me. My husband ate the remaining 3. I was done with their crab Rangoon. My gang masaman is sweet, spicy and good. Got some baby corn, that I didn't want or ask for at all. The potatoes are skin on and are cubed, not my favorite part of this dish much. The sauce is quite good. My dish was maybe a mild plus, it wasn't enough medium spicy to me. The peanut curry noodles was yummy, sauce was nice and spicy, Thai hot was still mild to my husband. He said the heat comes from the Thai chilies mostly. The waitress asked how our food was. I told her there was still baby corn in my masaman, she said sorry and that was it. Skip the crab Rangoon here, not the best execution. Their peanut curry noodles and gang masaman is good here. The crab Rangoon was about a 2 star. The peanut curry and the masaman was about a 3.5, since I didn't like the potatoes and got the baby corns I didn't want at all. You pay at the front counter.

What a great addition to the Orion/Clarkston area! We were lacking authentic Thai food and here it is! The atmosphere is modern and the decor is minimal, but well thought out. This restaurant is clean with ample seating in a comfortable space. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. We started our meal with Thai Iced Tea, complimentary soup, and Crab Rangoon. The iced tea was spot on! The soup was a sweet and sour egg drop combo that was just ok. The crab Rangoon was greasy and more chewy, than crispy. I ordered Pad Se'eu with chicken, mild plus. My husband ordered Pad Thai with chicken, medium plus. The food arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered! The brown sauce was super tasty. The spice level for my meal was more like medium. The Pad Thai was perfect. Both dishes lacked chicken... the portions were minimal. Same with the Pad Se'eu. I think there were 4 florets of broccoli and 3 pieces of chicken a top a large plate of noodles and sprouts. There overall cost was pretty affordable for thai. Our bill was under $40. Even with the lack of protein, the flavor was excellent! We will be back and hopefully it will be a five star experience!

Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. I've tried 7-8 other places in metro Detroit and nothing is as good. The basil fried rice is a huge standout, it's phenomenal and full of flavor! Bring it home and top it with a fried egg like they serve it in Thailand! Only downside is they close early, and the filling in the crabmeat rangoons is totally pink... they still taste good though.

    Hot and sour.

Baldwin road in Lake Orion is full of surprises. Road design more appropriate for a Spiro-graph than automobiles is your first surprise and your second third and forth. But through it all the business mix is becoming more upscale and interesting. Thai food is thin on the ground north of 59 so when I crawled up Baldwin I was drawn in by Thai Fix. It's hard to get a handle on the place being new, Covid still locking us down (ish) and I ate at a weird time, but the food was terrific, came out fast and was spiced just right for medium. I struck up a conversation with the only other diner and he concurred. Thai iced tea hit the spot to cool the hot. So brave the construction and give this place a try. This place might be out in the sticks, but for the nabe it's one of my top picks. So get in your car and hit the bricks and eat some great food at Thai Fix.....Go!

Would be better with larger vegetables, more green onion and some mushrooms), the Bangkok Special House Fried Rice (very large, very tasty, even better on day 2 and my wife is going to get a third meal out of it) and Bangkok Pad Thai chicken, hot + baby corn (very tasty, needs a lot more green onion and needed more baby corn but lots of chicken and it was quite spicy hot. I normally always order Pad Thai hot and I had definite lip burn after eating. First night we ate 1 container of soup, 3/4 satay, the spring rolls and we each ate about 20% of our entrees and we were stuffed. Night 2 we finished the satay, second container of soup, I ate all my pad Thai and my wife ate about 60% of the fried rice (another 40%). Door was all tasty and with the issues identified resolved this would be our go-to Thai place from now on. We will definitely try it again but we prefer Red Chili Thai on Sashabaw at the moment. Still giving it 5 stars since it just opened. Looking forward to round #2.

She had a smile on her face when I requested crab Rangoon. To me, that was reassuring as it must be a popular item that many enjoy! I also had crispy rolls added. I personally liked the rangoon more. The pad Thai was a very large portion, for dinner. Certainly not complaining, everything was perfect. It came to roughly $40. While there are leftovers I have to say it was a tasty meal. The wait was about 10-15 minutes, not bad!

We started with Old Fashioneds, which were very good, although it did take a while for our drinks to arrive. Our server was friendly and attentive, but they were clearly very busy, and there was a wait by the time we were leaving. For appetizers, we ordered both the Devil Goons--seafood rangoons made with Sriracha and ghost chili peppers--and the regular rangoons. The Devil Goons were excellent; I had never had spicy rangoons before, and it was a great twist. The regular rangoons, however, were just okay in comparison. I ordered the red curry and thought it was just alright. I asked for medium spice, which was tolerable, but it lacked the rich coconut milk and curry flavors I'm used to from other places. My friends ordered fried rice, and their portions were noticeably larger than mine. For a similar price point, the portion sizes felt inconsistent. That said, they really enjoyed the fried rice. Overall, it's a cool spot to check out and clearly very popular. If I return, I'd skip the red curry. I'd also recommend making a reservation if you're planning ahead.

Their sign is easy to see as you drive by, but my friend did give me a heads up that their door was not obvious. You need to walk through a fence and then open a non deacript door. The artwork outside is awesome! When we walked in we received a friendly greeting and were quickly shown to our seats. We had made a reservation ahead of time and there was no delay to seat us upon our arrival. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders right away. I appreciated that they had multiple non alcoholic drinks and at a fair price. I started with the Thai Iced tea which was delicious, but I would have loved a glass 2x the size! We ordered multiple dishes to share amongst us. I did ask the server how many dishes they recommended that we order as I wasn't sure of the size. The items are brought out as they are made, so we had food being dropped off to is at random intervals. The only slight issue we experienced was when someone else tried to bring a plate of squid to our table. We let them know that we had not ordered it. They then went and talked to our server, who brought the squid back to our table. We also let them know that we had not ordered that dish. Our server did bring back our order slip and looked it over, and I believe at that point they realized that we really had not ordered that dish and just weren't rejecting it. I am not sure if it had been written wrong, communicated to the kitchen wrong, or what but we did have to state multiple times that we had not ordered it. The rest of our dishes arrived correctly. The crispy chive cakes were great, and the sticky spare ribs were AMAZING. The caramel glaze on the outside of the ribs was so good, and they were tender as well. The outside was super crispy. I would absolutely ordered these again. I would say that both of those dishes were only for 2 people. The sticky rice and jasmine rice were as to be expected, and I personally felt that the papaya salad was not as good as others I have had. The chilli noodles had an amazing broth and I would also recommend. Overall, I did enjoy our dinner but I am not sure that I would go out of my way to return. I am rounding up to 4 stars based on the sticly ribs alone, otherwise a 3.5 would be more fair. I have been hearing about Takoi for years, so maybe my epxections were too high but I was expecting a bit more.
