This place is phenomenal! It is one of the best hole in the walls I have seen. I came in and two ladies were in the middle of cooking someone's dinner, to order. It took them a couple minutes to take my order but that allowed me to watch them perform. It was great! I ordered papaya salad, tom yum soup and yellow curry. Everything was scrumptious! The curry was so perfect I could drink it! The amount of food was perfect for two people and absolutely fair priced. I will try their noodles next time, if they are anything like the rest of the items on the menu I will very pleased. Fair warning, this place is small, so I would only recommend it for take out. Other than that, it is a winner. I will definitely will be visiting this place again. It has to be one of my favorite Thai places so far. read more

This is a wonderful little place where you can order food and they make it fresh. They will even make modifications to their menu if asked. I recently moved away from Chula Vista a few months ago, and I'm still missing my favorite Thai restaurant, Thai Fresh. I lived in Chula Vista for 3 years prior to moving, and this by far has been one of the freshest Thai food I have ever had; a staple restaurant in this part of town. Not super oily, very authentic and the taste will amaze you. Whenever I visit Chula Vista, I order the crab fried rice, green curry (comes with side of rice), and my lady orders chicken pad thai. All of it freshly made to order. A bonus would be the mango sticky rice as a dessert. This hole-in-the-wall spot is kept as a secret to only Chula Vista guests because it isn't a typical Thai restaurant. Its pay and take to go. There aren't dining tables or fancy plates. It isn't a sit down for good reason. Sure there are chairs to sit in while you wait for your food, but thats it. It's just the owners and their family Thai master chefs. To expedite the ordering process, ORDER 10-15 minutes prior to pick up. Makes it so much quicker to just pick up, pay and go. That's just a tip to Thai Fresh newbies. I do not wish to give this place a star at all. I ordered shrimp pad Thai but I got chicken pad thai instead. I originally ordered seafood pad Thai then she said they only have shrimp and crab. The shrimp fresh rolls were big but they were all vegetables. I opened it up, and they had thinly sliced a piece of shrimp into three pieces...ONE piece of shrimp! Same thing with the smoked salmon rolls. They add a thinly (paper thin) sliced piece of salmon. You barely get the hint of smoked salmon. The chicken fried rice was good but they were skimpy on the chicken. There were a few slivers in there. Their peanut sauce is watery. I'll stick to my usual Thai place. read more

Small restaurant with great flavors. I've always order food to go because like other Yelpers mentioned, this place is tiny. They have two small two-person tables, which are rarely used because it seems most customers take out. The lack of space should by no means deter you from ordering from this place. Staff is always friendly. Pick up waiting time is generally 15-20 minutes since they make it from scratch. The Panang Curry: Get it! It's so delicious and the only place that I believe rivals it's flavor is Lai Thai in national city. Thai Fresh is the only restaurant that a 7 is truly spicy. I regularly order my Thai plates on a 7 or 8 spice level and it's okay with spicy. But here, 7 is straight up spicy and I found that the overwhelming heat overtook the dish. For all those who prefer a nice heat with on their plate, order the plate with a 4 in heat. While a low number, it gives enough heat while still retaining all the delicious flavor of panang. Pad Thai: It's decent. Ive tried it multiple times because the first time I ordered it too spicy (see above). The next times I've tried it, it did the trick to satisfied my pad Thai craving in the shortest amount of time but the flavor isn't quite there. If you're in the South Bay and craving pad thai, I would get it. Tum Yum Soup: Delicious flavor. Great thing to eat on a cold day to get that warm soup belly experience. read more

This is my fave location in Chula Vista for Thai food. I haven't found a better restaurant. The portions are fair and the food is spectacular. This isn't really a sit-down as the restaurant itself is very tiny and is one of those hole in the wall places but there is some outdoor seating if other customers aren't seated waiting for their food. Depending on how busy they are, it is a bit of a wait but it's because the food is made when you order it. It's really a place where you order your food and go tbh lol. But that's totally fine by me. The customer service is awesome. They're straight to the point and very sweet. It's also located right next to Regal Cinemas so you can grab a bite to eat and them watch a movie right after or vice versa. The only thing I'd wish is that this place was bigger. I've been on a Thai kick lately not sure really why but been trying a bunch of new Thai places, in which brought me here. I go to Costco next door all the time but never tried til now. It's the middle of the covid 19 pandemic so everything to go. I tried their yellow curry with chicken. It's a small little place even without the pandemic not sure how they have seating to sit and eat but anyways not an issue. Got my food within 10mins of calling it in. The prices are great for the portion you get and It was fresh and hot even when I got it home still piping hot. Much appreciated. Now to the food... the curry was creamy and delicious. The flavor was great with a little spiciness they is just the right amount, at least for me. I do wish the menu was a bit larger with more Thai dishes but I like it here for the quickness perfect for me to pick up on my way to work. read more

A huge surprise to me since this was in a little out of the way strip mall in Irvine. I had the tofu pad thai and my son had the pad see ewe. OMG. The noodle dishes were so good. Flavorful, and well prepared. I'd be back for more. My only recommendation is that they subscribe by thai hot principles. A medium spicy is truly spicy. I think next time I'll ask for mild and add my own spice. Not sure if they take reservations. We walked in pretty late (close to 9pm) on a Sunday night and they were jam packed. I saw the wonderful reviews and ratings on Yelp, so I figured to try out Thai Fresh. Came here to order their chicken summer rolls. The rolls came in pairs, with a sweet chili and another peanut sauce. The summer rolls had a lot of finely shredded chicken, and the taste was okay. I just find their prices on the expensive side and the summer rolls weren't that great. I wanted to order something duck, but they don't prepare roasted duck, only soy duck. Location is ridiculously small. It's pretty much a size of a kitchen. No where to really sit down and eat. The ladies who were running the place are nice, but other than that, I've tasted better Thai food, with better pricing. Food can be good but service does not measure up. We ordered multiple items for my family. My wife who is pregnant can't eat spicy right now. Her meal was supposed to be mild and was more like extra hot. I ordered curry and they didn't include rice. Worst is you can't reach them by phone to complain because it's always busy.
