What a great find! This little restaurant in the basement of a downtown building wowed us! We ordered fresh spring rolls (not fried) with tofu for an appetizer. The peanut sauce was exquisite. The tofu was lightly fried but not greasy. The vegetables were crisp and cold. For dinner, we ordered pad Thai Noodles, Thai Garden Beef and Ginger with Chicken. All dishes were seasoned to perfection. The vegetables were cooked just right, leaving them crisp and flavorful. We will plan to stop here again when we travel through Lagrande. This joint is about as constant as the number of times I have to pee at night. You'se never can tell if they will get an order right, If you go there maybe you will have ta wait and wait and it's a guessing game whether or not the so called Thai food will be worth eating. I lived in Thailand. This food does not resemble anything I ate there during that year. My frail picked up take out tonight. She told the dumb bunnies NO SPICE on the fecking ( a nod to St. Patty's day) drunken noodles. Guess what? Yep they be spicy. I can't eat spicy food. I don't even feed spicy food to my dog. If it wasn't such a long drive I'd pin on my diapers and I'd take it back. Alas, it came out of their kitchen as worthless if yas can't eat spicy food and it remains unedible for me. My husband and I enjoy Thai food so on our way home we ate here. The ambiance was nice. We are vegetarian and gluten free so we asked our waiter to check on a couple of things like no oyster sauce and gluten free. The menu actually showed GF on some items. My husband chose the Green Curry which he liked but even though it said spicy it was a little too spicy for him. I ordered the Pad See-ew gluten free option with tofu. The menu listed it as a sweet soy sauce so you would think the gf option would be similar. But mine was very strong garlic and I'm sensitive to garlic if I have too much or it's too strong! I really should have sent it back instead of eating some of it. Now my belly is really unhappy! And no one came back to check on us anyway or I would have at least asked to double check the menu to see if I ordered the wrong item. I will say the Mango sticky rice was good though. read more

Any food here that consists of noodles are amazing! You can't go wrong with any of the fresh rolls and soups either! If you get the sticky rice just know it'll be slightly dried out and hard- this also goes to the mango sticky rice where the rice feels like it isn't cooked all the way because there's a crunch to it. My son plays baseball here at EOU, so we are in Lagrande quite a bit. He told me to try this place next time we were in town. Well, I was passing through the other day so had to do it. Walked here from my hotel, and was a little confused at first. Walking through the front door it looks like just a bunch of mom and pop shops and a little coffee shop bakery. Well, if you walk down the stairs and all the way to the back, you find the restaurant. It's subterranean. Ha! I was greeted and seated immediately. Very nice waitress. I was a little tiffed at first because the veggie gyoza they advertise I was told they do NOT make them. All filling has meat she said. But she did offer up these "hand rolled" veggie egg rolls which were amazing with wonderful glass noodles. I also ordered the vegetable drunken noodles which were equally amazing. Fresh beautiful broccoli and carrots. Not too raw and not too soft, just perfect. The garlic sauce on the noodles was delicious. Not quite all that spicy, but the spice rack they brought was perfect. Loved it, more than enough food. Lots of vegetarian options. Only negatives I thought was not having something that they advertised, which I was pretty bummed about, and I didn't know that they didn't have cocktails. 8.3/10 will definitely try again. read more

This restaurant is tucked under other stores in the basement. It has cool mini shops/boutiques on your way through the tunnels to get to the restaurant. The food is really good. I've eaten there and gotten food to go. The best thing on the menu is the yellow curry. It is so good and sweet. They have different spice levels and they are super spicy. La Grande was our pit-stop on the way from Seattle to Sun Valley and we were in desperate need of dinner. This place had solid reviews and I was pleased to discover they have extremely easy online ordering! 30min outside of town i was able to order dinner, pay, and tip (a very big plus during COVID). We picked it up on our way to the hotel (still hot). We got Swimming Rama (beef) and Garlic Delight (chicken), both level 3 spice, and they were both excellent! I typically test the waters with a "3" when eating at a Thai place for the first time. This 3 didn't disappoint! It had really good heat. Not "make your nose run" heat, but the kind that ignites your taste buds and requires a drink. I couldn't have been more surprised to find such sold Thai food in a little town like this! read more

We came at 8 on a Saturday and service was pretty quick. Ordered the green curry and drunken noodles/pad kee mao. The texture of the noodle was very good and the green curry was up to par with all the restaurants in Portland. The drunken noodle was better than some I've had in Portland Taste: 5/5 Portion size is average, but there is too little rice for the curry. Good thing is they gave us extra rice without charge. This is the best Thai option in town. I love the free soup variety that comes before the meal and is always flavorful. The lunch menu is excellent and the portions are plentiful. The extra touch of the crab Rangoon and sauce and the extra touches, such as paper roses attached to the straws really add to the presentation. I love the salad rolls, curry, and chicken satay. Their spicy levels are spot on. My only complaint is that sometimes service isn't very speedy especially when it comes time for the bills to be paid. Second trip to La Grande.. and we of course had to stop by Thai Fresh. We went on a graduation weekend, but we were still seated immediately. Thai Fresh is located in the basement. They have ample seating, so even on a busy afternoon we were able to find a spot. This time we tried their Pad Kee Mao noodles and of course had to have their thai iced tea and veggie rolls. The server said that because they have a big group, veggie rolls may take up-to 25 mins. We thought we'll order something else in that case. After a minute, the server came back and said that they can do the rolls in 5-10 mins, so we continued with the same order. The noodles was delicious. The quantity Is good for 2 people. The veggie rolls were yummy too. One of the best ones. Overall the service is great, friendly staff, great food and quick service. I know it's hard to step away from the basics, but I recommend trying the "Pad Woonsen" instead of good ol' Pad Thai. It's just one of the many unique dishes found on the menu here, a feature that keeps me interested in coming back again (that and the really cool underground setting, beautiful decor, and extremely attentive and kind wait staff). I appreciated that there's a "Thai spicy" level on the menu, and it certainly delivered. I had a fiery blast eating my Pad Woonsen, but even though the heat was a little too high I could still appreciate all the fresh vegetables and the fun glass noodles. I also sampled the "Green Curry". I thought it was just a tad too thin, but it certainly had enough plump juicy shrimps and an assortment of vegetables to compensate. The flavor of the curry at least was delicious - adequately balanced and complex. It's good to know there's a solid Thai spot here in Eastern Oregon, where diversity is limited and I'm always a little skeptical of the quality and authenticity when I do come across it. When I visit La Grande next, I can do so with the comfort that there will be another exciting Thai dish to look forward to. read more

After a long trip across the country, we were tired of burgers and sandwiches. We were recommended this place by a local and it did not disappoint! The setting is a little strange as it is in an underground market kind of in a hallway. When were there there wasn't a soul in sight, and it was Friday night! All that being said, we enjoyed all parts of our meal - the fresh avocado rolls, Yellow Curry and Pad Thai. The Yellow Curry was a little thin in my opinion but had a great flavor. This place opened last month. My wife and I have been here three times already. The food is good but a little over priced compared to Asian Fusion. Some of the tables are small, like toddler size. I had drunken noodles with fried tofu and the husband had chicken Thai fried rice. Both were excellent. He had a Thai tea but it was terrible. It had way to much cream and it was very salty. After drinking down a bit I asked her to top it off with more tea because the cream was overwhelming, which she did. Still it was salty and tasteless except for cream. We left it there. Plus the Thai tea was 3.95! I definitely recommend the food, but skip the Thai tea. read more

Let me first say that my review is in no way a reflection of the food (at least the food we got). The food is the only reason they got stars at all. This is 100% a review of poor management. This experience was a disaster from the beginning. We came in and it was hopping which is normally a great sign. Apparently not in this case. They are handling both dine-in and take out (doordash). Everything is chaos and they are so confused they can't seem to get anything right. They point us to a table and then promptly forget about us. My husband finally goes to get a menu and then we look at it for a solid 10 minutes before anyone even thinks to check on us (after many stares from us to let them know we are ready). Meanwhile, I am listening to the doordash drama where they sent the wrong order with the wrong doordash person. They finally come to take our order. Hubby ordered Spicy Basil with Pork, I ordered Emperors Cashew with chicken. The food was good, though they got our order wrong. I do like that we got our egg rolls and Gyoza before our entrees. Normally in any Thai or Asian restaurant, they tend to bring everything together. They got the spice wrong on our dishes (I got my husband's spicy, spicy and he ended up with my medium spice). Additionally, there was bo baby corn in my dish like it was described which was why I chose this dish. My husband's dish came with chicken, but pork as ordered. Additionally when they bring our dishes, they tell us they are out of Jasmine rice and offer us brown rice. A Thai place out if rice is like a pizza place out of pepperoni. What the hell? I accept the brown rice and 5 minutes later go up because I think they have forgotten me again. The girl tells me she is still making it in the microwave (What???). 10 minutes later we are finishing up our entrees and a different girls asks us is we still want the brown rice. Well since I am almost done and you couldn't manage to bring me any rice, I am pretty sure I don't need any. Doordash saga 2 happens. They sent part of a guys order and not the whole order. The customer says he will come get it and they send the rest of the order with a different doordash person so when the guy shows up, no order! We also got to watch several people ask where the rest of their meal was as they were sending out dishes 1 or 2 at a time which meant people's meals were getting cold if they wanted to wait or people couldn't eat together. The young lady who gave us our check apologized and said she gave us a 10% discount. My dear, we were missing 10% of our food and you got 10% of our order wrong. Please don't assume you are doing is a favor when you didn't provide what was ordered or expected. The food was good, the service sucked and it will be a while before I am ready to clear the slate and try them again. Maybe with less customers, they can get organized & keep up with their orders. From what I saw on the faces of many people, their crowd size should diminish fairly soon. read more

The food was great, the service great and the facilities clean and well kept. All the staff were friendly and accommodating.
