    Padkeemao (drunken noodles) with chicken

Lately, I had been missing authentic Asian food but had a hard time deciding where to go..partly because I know it's hard to find super authentic Asian...and even more specific, Thai flavors in this city (no offense...but we don't have great selection of authentic Asian food here...other than perhaps..Vietnamese food). My gym closed early today..so what did I do after that?...I went out of my own whim to stop by Thai House to check it out. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much..because I found most Thai places to serve American-styled Thai food..and not super authentic one. Well, at Thai House, I ordered Pad Kee Mao (drunken rice noodles)...because I wanted to avoid anything that was super Americanized...and I wasn't disappointed! The flavor was good..pan fried noodles that weren't too salty. If anything, I love the hot Thai dry chili kick after each bite! So much that I had to stop myself from finishing the dish because I honestly was planning to finish most the next day. Well, you know what else I was impressed? Mango Sticky Rice! It may sound weird..but it is a Thai dessert dish that I hadn't had for..probably 5-10 years now (since I had been away from Bangkok for so long!). Well, usually I would try to avoid the dish because the coconut milk sticky rice wouldn't taste right..or the mango would just be too sour to go for the sticky rice. But..thai House got it perfectly! The sweet mangoes went along really well with the cocomut milk based sticky rice! I ended eating 3/4 dish of it in one go...of the dish that I originally intended to save for the next day's meal! Plus, the price of ~$7 was super reasonable for the portion size as well! Overall, awesome place for food. The restaurant ambiance/service aren't the top (but you can't expect much when it's a totally run by just one Thai lady). But..the food tasted great and worth the wait! I definitely plan on checking this place out agian whenever my Thai taste bud hits me next time!

Thai House is dine-in and to-go restaurant with standard Thai fare. It's located on Carlisle and Indian School Rd. in an unassuming strip mall between Dulce and iRepairNM. There's a free shared parking lot in front. There's not an ambience to speak of because the cooking, storage, and seating areas are in one big room and it feels haphazardly thrown together. I've tried Thai House twice, both times with fried rices. Today I had the pineapple fried rice, mild, with tofu. It was unimaginative and flavorless, just like last time. I had been hoping they were having an off night the first time I visited, but I guess this is the standard. My husband said his dish was the same, but we finished them because we were hungry. I wouldn't recommend Thai House, or go back. It's flavorless food in a storage hanger; there's no draw. For those visiting, as of late July 2024 the chicken satay has been discontinued and Thai House is no longer offering any entrees that contain peanut butter.

I agree with all the comments posted. Very nice lady runs this. Just know the front door is kept locked, so you either call or knock on door for her to open. Food was yummy, she is very kind and helpful. I ordered the chicken spring rolls and pad Thai.

Omg this place was freaking amazing. The owner was super sweet and attentive. Food made fresh. She said almost all options can be made vegan

You adding by decided to stop, the place caught my eye. You can smell the curry. The music playing is Thai chant music, interesting. Nothing is stationary, walls are fake. Very open. Since it a very small place and family run service is not that great. Cook can not multi task which is a problem but the food makes up for it. OMG the food you get here is authentic and so damn good. Pad Thai- Yum Yum. Chicken spring rolls are great. If you come here any there are a lot of people plan to wait.

    Really burned spring roll.

I decided to order from this restaurant to support a local business. I usually order from one of my favorite Thai places in Hoffmantown Plaza but they were not open. I decided to give this restaurant a try since the reviews were mostly positive. I really regret it and wish I had waited until the next day to order from my favorite place. Firstly, I ordered the Massaman Curry, beef and with medium spice. I have honestly never eaten such a flavorless curry. On top of that, it was not spicy at all. I also ordered spring rolls and they were legit burned. I have attached a picture to show you how badly they burned these rolls. I had to throw my order away meaning that my money was wasted at this restaurant. This was an awful experience and I am so upset that my food was of such poor quality.

Happened to drive by this spot a few times, and was in the mood for Thai so we gave it a try. Looks like an antique store more than a restaurant when you come in. You can see the kitche from the dining area which to me is kind of a plus. You can watch your food being prepared. Was a one woman shop when we came. Not sure if that's standard but I guess it works. The hostess, waitress, and cook were the same person. Food was decent. I had the red curry and my wife had the Pad Thai. I thought my meal was "ok" but my wife said the pad Thai was actually better than a couple other places we liked. The spring rolls were actually the hit. Very fresh and well prepared. Would definitely come back. She needs the business so drop in and give it a try!

You are asked to tip before you receive service. tipping is supposed to be base on quality of service. You do receive table service once your food is ready. The menu has changed as well. We loved the jerky and sticky rice, now gone! Fish cakes is new but it was too chewy and dry with little flavor. Shrimp cocktail and dumplings were good. This was the only Thai restaurant in town that served good Thai rice noodle soup similar to pho. Sadly it's no longer the case. It was bland! Traditional beef soup included meatballs, now gone. They also charge ridiculous prices for some add-ons such as crushed peanuts $2.00 per order!! Really, for 2 ppl we could have bought a whole jar. Service ended up being good especially since we were the only patrons. I low balled the tip at time of order and ended up giving additional tip in cash. Sadly to say, it's off our list of favorite restaurant in town. Probably will not go back.

Best pad see eww / jungle noodles that I've had in New Mexico by a long shot. Absolutely loved it. The ingredients tasted so fresh , you could tell nothing was from a can or frozen. The sauce at the bottom was just to die for. Pineapple fried rice 10/10. This tied for first place, it's possibly the very best fried rice in New Mexico but it's just so close. What I loved is that they spared no expense on ingredient quality, they even used cashews rather than cheaper nuts like peanuts. Each veggie was cooked perfectly and they actually put tomato which I've never had in fried rice but man it was good! Believe it or not the pad Thai was only 5/10, not too bad; nothing to write home about. I was surprised about that since every other item blew my socks off. What might have been the worst part of the pad Thai was the regular chicken was dry and chalky. Most Thai places have thinner softer chicken they use, luckily for the other meals I had shrimp which was really good and fried chicken which was also really good I'd love to try more of their food,

The crab Rangoon was the best crab Rangoon I've had in a long time, in any city. The way they wrapped it was clever, you could taste the cream cheese filling as you bite, it was great. Unfortunately, the fraudulent business practices taint, every other aspect of the meal. This will…read morebe discussed near the end. To start off with the food, it is very average. For the price, you would expect much higher quality food. However, when every dish cost $21 after tax, it is definitely not worth the price. Most of the dishes are dripping with oil. For example, some of the noodle and curry dishes are literally sitting in a tub of oil. The orange chicken uses frozen, perfectly cubed pieces of chicken. I wish they used the actual pieces of chicken, again as the price you pay does not attest to the quality. Red curry is ok but the flavor is very mild. Chicken satay is quite dry and needs all the sauce it can get. Sticky rice mango is a pitiful portion for the price. They even promote fraudulent advertising by showing a giant portion of sticky rice mango with an entire mango on their menu, however, the portion you get is less than half of one mango. It is extremely fraudulent/false advertising. Another issue overall is that the restaurant adds a 3% credit card surcharge. They have signs in the restaurant stating that the credit card companies are charging the customers this extra surcharge. This is again patently false. Credit card companies charge a surcharge to businesses who wish to accept credit cards. This is a normal cost of doing business, and this should definitely not be passed on to the customers as the prices at this restaurant are already at an all-time high. Also, as other reviewers have pointed out, apparently the restaurant charges this on debit cards as well, which is again, entirely fraudulent as debit cards do not charge any transactional fees. Lastly and probably the biggest issue is when they miss items in your order. For example, at the restaurant, I ordered a dessert along with my meal. At the end, it was discovered that the dessert never actually arrived, however, I was charged for it. The restaurant refunded the dessert, however, they only refunded the amount prior to the 3% credit card surcharge that they charged me. This means, the restaurant did not refund the extra 3% That they charged me originally for the dessert! They got to keep an extra 3% of money for intentionally messing up an order which again is fraudulent. This is something that will have to be filed with the FTC as who knows how many others they have scammed out of 3% in the past. Overall, I would highly suggest avoiding this restaurant due to the food quality being poor, the prices being quite high, the extra credit/debit card surcharges, and the fraudulent activity if the restaurant has to provide a refund.
