Krung Thai was everything we wanted it to be. My first experience of Thai food was in Thailand, where they don't put as much sugar in the dishes. This place customized my dish exactly the way I wanted it - no added sugar. I had the Mammasa (pineapple) curry. The vegetables fresh, the Chicken was thin cut breast, and the restaurant was clean. The other dish we ordered was the Mongolian beef and it was literally the best one I've ever had and it laid on crispy noodles, which was a fun twist. We will definitely be back. read more

Ordered the coconut soup with chicken and I have to say I did not expect it to be so incredibly tasty as well as being nice and hot. Got the egg rolls which were pork & shrimp and I now know why another review raved about the dipping sauce. I have to agree and also added some to my fried rice. Got the Thai meatballs which were a bit of a let down not only for quality but in no way worth $9.95. The Chicken dumplings were way over cooked and dry so not enjoyable. The white rice was good and the fried rice was really good. Next time we will skip the dumplings and meatballs. Overall despite a couple item not being good, the others were great. Menu appears to offer a few Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Not quite what I would call an Asian Kitchen sink restaurant, but close. Asian kitchen sink is a restaurant that offers many different Asian cuisines despite a main focus of one cuisine. The service experience was counter service. I've had better Thai... but not in New Mexico. This place is a gem. Good food in New Mexico. And like many Thai places, they are happy to accommodate special requests like "no onions". My wife had pad see eu. I had a lovely red curry. And we shared tom ka pork and the sausage appetizer. Every thing was excellent. Service was excellent. The building is ok for Albuquerque. Not the nicest but in reasonable repair. But the food's really the thing, right? We'll be back. My wife used to order from here delivered fairly regular when she lived in town. The service was really good and the room is pretty and comfortable; prices were a tad warmer than at similar local Thai places. The drunken noodles (with pork) that I'd ordered were sweeter than I'd expected and the heat (I customarily order "New Mexico hot" which around here is shorthand for "hotter than medium but not all the way up to Thai-hot) was quite moderate. After talking with the waitstaff, it seems their pad thai down have soy in it. However, they offered the coconut soup and curries as options without soy. They also fix the curry as its ordered, so were able to leave potato (another allergen i have) out and add extra bamboo shoots. Spring rolls could have been another option as well. Taking the order to go, so we will see about taste later and update. Update: ended up mixing the curry and coconut soup. It also came with rice. Together it's delicious and very minimal heat on my autoimmune sensitive mouth, but enough I can still know there's heat! An accomplishment I've not managed to encounter in nearly 5 years. Any Thai spot that does not ask your "how spicy?" is a red flag, along with Vietnamese/Chinese offerings straying from Thai core... drunken noodles were ok, but kinda off between the vegetable choices and something in the sauce (oyster sauce maybe?). Beef and broccoli was pretty boring, Panda Express does it better. I will say our server was really nice, and the inside is well decorated and clean. I was annoyed to see they charge a 3.5% credit card fee on top of menu prices, which I did not see advertised. Great tasting food in a really nice place. It's not a very large place and it is designed more for takeout to include all the plates and utensils, they are disposable even for dining in. Thursday night, thinking Thai and someplace new. So here we are. Kind of a divey, hole in the wall - next to a questionable massage parlor. Order at the counter and grab a seat. Everything comes in to go styrofoam containers.Dining on comes with a paper plate and something to eat it with. For us today it's chicken dumplings for appetizers, Panaang with pork and Red Curry with chicken as the main course. The dumplings were pot stickers with their own variety of dipping sauce. The Panaang Curry was excellent, loaded with pork & veggies in a fairly thick sauce. The Red Curry was equally excellent. Both came with white rice on the side. There was plenty of food for a good sized meal the next day. Overall an excellent meal for a reasonable price. Definitely a winner. read more

A delicious restaurant I was happy to find! The food was a 5/5. We tried the pad Thai with tofu and the massaman curry (spice level 2) with tofu. Krung does spice levels 1-5, with five being the hottest. The pad Thai was flavorful and savory even without additional spice. The massaman curry had a choice of protein, potatoes, bamboo, onions, peanuts, pineapple, carrots, and broccoli. The latter two ingredients aren't listed on the menu ingredients but were a welcome surprise. The spice level two is what I would consider a typical medium. The curry worked well with the many ingredients. I'll definitely be getting it again. There is only one fried rice dish on the menu, which is aptly named "fried rice" and comes with protein, celery, eggs, and onion. There are no options for the usual Thai fried rice fare of pineapple fried rice, spicy basil fried rice, etc. The restaurant has transitioned to counter service because of a lack of employees per a sign at the counter. The dishes are served in to-go containers along with a paper plate to eat on. Because of the counter service, paper plates, and limited fried rice menu, I'd give Krung a 4/5 overall. The food they do have on the menu is delicious, however, so would be perfect for a to-go option. read more

I have just started going to Krung Thai. It has been there for what seems like a long time, but for whatever reason, I just never thought about it. Boy, am I glad I did! The food is really good, the people are friendly, and actually it's in a great location in the middle of the Heights! They have a pretty extensive menu, and range outside of Thai by offering some Vietnamese and Chinese options. I've mostly stuck with the Thai choices at this point. The Thai meatballs are very tasty. They're a little pricey but they are very spicy and a great way to start the meal. If you haven't had Thai, most people suggest you start with Pad Thai. The dish is very good here. Always well prepared and sweet with just a hint of heat, it's a solid dish. I REALLY like the Pad Sa Eew, but pro tip: Get the Chinese broccoli. Totally worth it! If you eat in, the soups are served in beautiful bowls and are chock full of flavor. One warning: If you like spicy, fantastic, but this place is not afraid to step up to your challenge. If you order spicy, you better be tough. I admit, I can't do it. I like to have a tongue after my meal... I'll be back. read more

One of the best restaurant in Albuquerque no CAP! They are only doing take out right now because of covid but their big portions and delicious flavors still stand. The Lao papaya salad is an always get for my Vietnamese family, it's a little funky but full of umami. If you wanna level up your umami taste buds get it! Make sure to pick a little spicy though, this restaurant definition of spicy is DEATH SPICY, even the little spicy option is still plenty spicy. Because of the big portions I recommend picking a couple dishes so you can share with your family and/or friends. The pad Thai is always safe choice, one of the best pad Thai in this city. The green curry is also delicious but because of its creamy taste you need some acidity to cut through it(I eat it with the papaya salad and rice). The mango sticky rice is so addicting OMG! We ordered the Pad Thai and the meatballs. If we'd just ordered the Pad Thai, then it would be a five star review, as it was delicious and the chili paste added a good kick. Their spice levels are accurate and it can get pretty spicy, so if you are sensitive to spice maybe stick with the mild. My family loves Thai food and we were passing through New Mexico we decided to try it out for dinner. We ordered the Thai beef salad which was decent but had too much sauce. Which wouldn't be an issue if we weren't eating in the car. Flavor was good but the meat was nothing special. Pad thai was lacking sauce and truly the sauce didn't have much flavor other than sweet. On Sunday 9/24/23 I went there and ordered the stir fried vermicelli noodles. I ended up not being able to eat it because I did not taste good. My friend that was with me also tried it and had the same opinion but it did not taste good. Something just taste it off. When I told them, they did not say sorry to hear that or offer me anything else. The way they have it set up now as you pay first and then they bring it to you when it's ready. So I had paid for it including a tip so just over $18 and then couldn't eat my meal. I left it there. Favorite spot to get the pad Thai! I usually get the pad Thai with beef and it always fills my yummy up and that's with only eating half of it. The noodles are perfect!
