Tokyo Bangkok. Outside, front of restaurant.

January 6, 2024. Saturday. Dinner. Bob Ross would say a "Happy Accident". We started out the night at the nearby Cheddars restaurant. They told us the wait would be an hour. We found this place by randomly driving around. I'd swear this place isn't that old, because I remember eating at the nearby Crab Boil and this place didn't exist then. Upon walking in, they sat us immediately and took our order. Let me say, this place has VARIETY. They boast a nine-page menu of mostly Thai dishes, a one-page menu of rolls, sushi and nigiri, and three pages of sake, wine, beer and cocktails on a three faced tabletop display. They offer Japanese and Thai dishes. I ordered 2 rolls from the sushi menu. A spicy salmon roll, $13.99, with avocado and Masago. Crazy roll, $14.99, with spicy yellowtail tuna, sriracha sauce, and green onions. Of the two rolls, the spicy salmon was better, though neither wowed me. The fish just didn't seem fresh, probably based on our actual proximity to the ocean. Our waiter did check on the green tea for us. He found decaffeinated green tea ($3), which I ordered. It seemed to come endlessly out of the small metal kettle. The inside of the restaurant was well lit. Not romantic, but a good place for a casual date. They have both booths and tables and it is quite spacious inside. I'm sure if you're a fan of Japanese or Thai cuisine you could order something that suits you from all of their options. I would opt for Thai next time because my wife seemed to enjoy her food more than I did!

Always great service, Always great food. Love the Tamara Roll. This is one of the restaurants I make sure that I stop at every time I'm in Albuquerque. 10/10

Great atmosphere. Waitresses were on point with refills and table service. Upbeat music helped set the vibe of the great lunch. The rolls were phenomenal. Gryffindor and Diablo.

This is one of our family favorites. The kids love Asian food and my hubby and I enjoy it on occasion. They have a nice variety of options. We had a couple of sushi rolls but we ate them too quickly to take a picture I love the combos because they come with soup, egg rolls and a main course. The service is very good. They check back frequently for drink refills. The restaurant is decorated with traditional Asian. I love the umbrellas in the ceiling.

My new favorite restaurant when visiting ABQ! Japanese and Thai in one restaurant? I'm in. Dining room has a nice vibe. Big open space with booths and tables spread evenly. Tables and floors were clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. The food was out of this world good! I ordered the spicy basil beef combo, which came with rice , spring rolls, and soup. I also ordered the sushi combo #1 which had 7 nigiri a California roll and seaweed salad. To be honest , I can't say what was my favorite. The basil beef was perfect, tasty and well plated. The sushi was fresh and was of generous portions. I opted to pay a few dollars more for white tuna and octopus and was glad I did. The sushi was fresh and looked great. The seaweed salad was also fresh. A healthy pile of ginger and wasabi. I can't wait to go back to this restaurant. Do not hesitate to eat here.

Service was top notch, was literally treated at the door! Drink was never empty, and the people were nice. The shrimp tempura appetizer was delicious (5 pieces), and my sushi was excellent (Santa Fe something on the chiefs specialties). The combo fried rice was a little small portion $21, and the beef was tough, but the other meats were good. All in all, we'll be back. And I've got my eye on the Slytherin sushi next time!

Delicious food, great atmosphere and service. The sweet tea was very good too. I am in town for work and this place was recommended by a coworker. I came by myself and felt very comfortable.

Fellow Stagnated World Traveler Yelpies, As my late Great Grandfather Charlie Chan said..."Waiting for tomorrow waste of today"...we happily settled for a take-out from Tokyo/Bangkok. From Japan..."Captain Roll": Sushi...Salmon, avocado, cucumber and crab inside & Cream cheese, shrimp with furikake and teriyaki sauce on top. From Thailand..."Spicy Jungle Noodle": Stir Fried flat noodles, eggs, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, celery, garlic sauce with Chicken. The Sushi..was most delicious. Perfect sushi bites rarely tasted on these shores. The Jungle Noodle..absolutely scrumptious..."If you want wild bird to sing, do not put her in cage." This dish sang beautifully. "Long journey always start with one short step." This was a worthy step...:) If your lucky enough to eat from here..."One grain of luck sometimes worth more than whole rice field of wisdom."..:) Best always, Avram C. Chan Jr.

Hidden behind a group of other restaurants this is definitely worth the little hunt. Look high for the store's sign. We missed the sign on the pole. We got inside at the end of the lunch rush and got to a booth quickly. Menus came and our first course was the Mango & Crispy Rolls. The mango was not ripe yet and crunchy with no flavor. The Crunchy Roll came with spicy tuna and lived up to its name. Next the Pad Thai & Peanut Curry. The Pad Thai was sweet & flavorful with plenty of sauce to keep noodle from sticking together. The peanut curry was also sweet. Due to a kitchen error I received both chicken & beef. It was a nice combination. Overall there was a lot of food, to go boxes were in order. Overall not a bad lunch - it'll last me the remainder of the day.

Last time I was there, they weren''t serving alcohol? Has that changed yet?

Yes, we do currently have beer, wine and some mixed drinks.

    Do they have wine?

NO. They have a big HUGE sign facing the highway advertising that they have beer and wine, but they are currently without alcohol and have been for a couple of months.

I started with a Thai iced tea, which was absolutely delicious--perfectly sweet and creamy, and very refreshing. For an appetizer we ordered the potstickers, which came out hot and crispy with a tasty dipping sauce that paired really well with them. For my entrée I had the fried rice with tofu, and it was excellent. The rice had great flavor and texture, and the tofu was cooked nicely with a good mix of vegetables. My husband ordered another noodle soup dish that looked amazing as well--it had a flavorful beef broth, noodles, and herbs that smelled incredible. Overall, the food was delicious and the experience was really enjoyable. If you're looking for Thai food in Albuquerque, Thai Spice is definitely worth a visit. Five stars all the way!

The pineapple fried rice was the perfect balance spicy, sweet and savory. The rice had the perfect texture and the perfect balance of flavors, I just don't think anyone could have made it any better. I'm absolutely addicted, I feel the exact same way about the pad Thai as I do the fried rice. It's hard to say which one is my favorite dish here. The pad Thai had a little sweet too but not too much, just enough to really make all the other flavors come home. I have very rarely had a better pad Thai than this anywhere. It is a contender for every some of LA's best Thai food. The drunken noodles / pad see ew. Is good, really good actually. Not quite the same sentiment as the other two but I thought it was great and I would definitely be willing to eat it again. The only criticism I have is I wish their phone customer service wasn't on the weird side. I called and the lady first told me they don't have delivery, I asked her directly and said "not even on Uber Eats or DoorDash? Then she said maybe our website might have an option, so I went on there, it was some unknown third party company I never heard of. I was a little hesitant to put my card on it but I really wanted to try Thai spice so I took the chance, Sure enough the driver arrived on time; food was hot, and I enjoyed my experience. Hopefully their employees learn what they are able to do so the next customer doesn't walk away.

You are asked to tip before you receive service. tipping is supposed to be base on quality of service. You do receive table service once your food is ready. The menu has changed as well. We loved the jerky and sticky rice, now gone! Fish cakes is new but it was too chewy and dry with little flavor. Shrimp cocktail and dumplings were good. This was the only Thai restaurant in town that served good Thai rice noodle soup similar to pho. Sadly it's no longer the case. It was bland! Traditional beef soup included meatballs, now gone. They also charge ridiculous prices for some add-ons such as crushed peanuts $2.00 per order!! Really, for 2 ppl we could have bought a whole jar. Service ended up being good especially since we were the only patrons. I low balled the tip at time of order and ended up giving additional tip in cash. Sadly to say, it's off our list of favorite restaurant in town. Probably will not go back.

What I loved is that they spared no expense on ingredient quality, they even used cashews rather than cheaper nuts like peanuts. Each veggie was cooked perfectly and they actually put tomato which I've never had in fried rice but man it was good! Believe it or not the pad Thai was only 5/10, not too bad; nothing to write home about. I was surprised about that since every other item blew my socks off. What might have been the worst part of the pad Thai was the regular chicken was dry and chalky. Most Thai places have thinner softer chicken they use, luckily for the other meals I had shrimp which was really good and fried chicken which was also really good I'd love to try more of their food,
