This is the most horrible Thai food I've ever had. The crispy wonton are tiny, dry and had a piece of something in it that nearly cracked my tooth. This used to be my go to Thai place before Covid. I got take out twice since then and both times I was disappointed. The food lacked a lot of flavor and was not nearly as good as other Thai places like Let's Eat Thai. Disappointed. This is an awful, dirty restaurant. I've tried it twice now, about a year apart, in hopes that the first time was just a bad night for them. It was not. The restaurant is open seating, but there are no signs telling patrons this, so people will come in and stand around, like we did, until the single server notices them and tells them they can grab a seat anywhere. There are six tables that seat four people and one table that seats two. There are also four barstools along the bar for a total of thirty seats. There are no stairs into the venue so patrons in wheelchairs or with mobility issues will be fine accessibility-wise. The menus were sticky, the tables were sticky, our glasses were dirty with lipstick that hadn't been fully washed off, and the place had an overall grimy feel. I had the yellow curry fried rice, which was somehow both sour and extremely bland. The curry spice was what tasted sour; I haven't had any like it before and was thinking perhaps the spice went bad. The entree as a whole was very unappetizing. My companion ordered the pineapple fried rice and said he'd give his 1 star because it was extremely bland as well. The sodas we ordered came in a can with a cup of ice. The restaurant had one server for the dining room who was also in charge of busing the tables and coordinating to-go orders. He was friendly, but the owners had done a disservice by only having one staff up front, as he couldn't keep the place clean. Came to Thai II before a concert with some friends. This is one of their favorite spots to come to, and I can see why. The food is excellent. There are some opportunities to improve, with signage about seating when you come in. One person was doing everything but cooking, making it a little awkward to stand around and wait. The parking spaces are tight if you try to park in their lot as well, so make sure you pay close attention if you have a larger vehicle. read more

We ended up at Thai cuisine II. The place is small but was fine for just us two. My wife wanted to get pad Thai (she is very picky about the noodles for pad Thai and was looking for a place she can trust). I wanted to get a green curry dish, since I love a good curry. The only waiter, was pretty quick at taking our order, and the wait was not overly long. The price was reasonable, so I worried a bit about the serving size. We were looking for an inexpensive lunch in Nob Hill and had a delicious meal at Thai Cuisine II. They were a little understaffed, so service was unavoidably slow, but our server was very friendly and hustled to get everyone their food and condiments in a timely manner. Not a big deal - these things happen! I was in a veggie mood so tried something new to me, Pad Phug Roum Midt, a nice mix of cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, broccoli, snow peas, etc. in a mildly spicy soy-based sauce. It was perfect with some steamed rice tossed in to soak up some of the sauce, and the leftovers were fantastic as a fried rice dish the next morning. This was my first time ever ordering Thai Cuisine II for delivery, I have always enjoyed their in person lunch special. I am one of those people who basically refuses to order delivery, I'd much rather pick up an order myself. However, this time I chose delivery because I was in the middle of a super busy day at work and I just didn't have time to step out of the house. I really wanted to like this place. It came highly recommended by a friend who appreciates Asian food, so I'm going to guess that the day I went was just an off day, either temporally or physically. I'll come back again and maybe try other dishes but this was disappointing. I don't want to yuck anyone's yum, but "Huh?" My friend was so enthused abt the Pad Thai here. All I came away with was: about what? There was no flavor. To any of it. Not enough to dislike, and nothing to like. And for someone who doesn't like heat, I was mixing the hot chile sauce, adding fish sauce so I could taste *something*. Got the spring rolls as an appetizer, and altho not fried (yea!), it felt somewhat dessicated; like someone had ordered it at 1130, was perhaps rolled at the time of order, but then they changed their mind so it was put aside, uncovered, until I came along at 2:30 pm. I did get their egg rolls as part of the lunch special but I wouldn't hv ordered that anyways, so not fair to judge I guess, but a small dry serving without substance. I was quite hungry when I arrived and my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, so i ordered the crab fried rice too. My favorite among my order, but, not a high bar there. It's the only thing I took away with me - along with little tubs of fish sauce, hot chile oil, and packets of soy sauce. I will say this: it tasted better the next day. My server/hostess was fantastic, an absolute doll. She was attentive and sweet. The restaurant was clean, the ambience pleasant. Hence the 3 stars. It wasn't offensive in any one way; I just wish I enjoyed my food and could say that it was satisfying but as yet, I can't say I recommend this place. Another positive: the restroom was clean. I have meant to review this favorite of mine for years!! This is one of the few gems that survived the pre-Mayor-Keller-ART-fiasco. For this, I'm forever grateful. For the company reading this: those were hard years for all businesses on Central and you stayed in the game and that takes loyalty to our city, and you'll forever have mine for that! When I was a meat eater their beef was always on point in all their dishes. Their chicken cooked to perfection never raw or dry. Something about this place is that you can get your meals at the spice temperature you desire. Like green curry but want it HOT as red? They can do that! My go-to is pineapple fried rice. Now that I don't eat meat, when I ask for extra veggies (no tofu) they load it! Extra cabbage, broccoli, pineapple, and nuts. It's perfection. My boyfriend got the green curry with tofu. Green has the most veggies in it but he got it mild and was beyond impressed because it's "hard to get a hot green curry" (his words. I'm trying to get him to be a yelper). I always get the fried spring rolls but never get to take a photo of them because they are so good!!! Their delivery is always packed to perfection taking extra caution that things don't spill. But if you want to dine in, they have plenty of off-street parking behind their building. The little diner inside is always clean and well staffed. Someone always greets you and it will be a rare day you wait for something to drink. Even the entry way is set up to help the average customer, grab an Alibi Magazine to see what's going on in town if you're visiting! You have tons of options for Thai food on Central (Thai Vegan, Thai Orchid, etc), but I suggest Thai Cuisine II all day, every day, over ALL the others. Their price points are lower, their portions are plenty, the food is fresher, and they never disappoint with their vegan/vegetarian options. 10/10 would return and recommend. read more

So far I've only had the Panang curry but it was the best Panang curry I've had in Albuquerque - and possibly anywhere. I ordered mild with white rice on the side. The mild was pretty spicy so maybe start off mild and work your way up. I also had shrimp added and they were surprisingly fresh tasting and perfectly cooked. Cruising Central Ave we came across this place. Deceptively small - looks bigger than what it is. The dining area is large, but there are only 10 tables with room for more. No wait for a table - late lunches are always good, no crowd. But the aroma emanating from the kitchen helped whet my appetite. Ordered from the lunch menu to simplify things. Curry sounded good so Pa Nang Curry with Pork & Red Curry with chicken. Both came with egg rolls. Vegetarian egg rolls came out first good, not overly hot from cooking so they were ready to eat. This was closely followed by our meals. Both curries were excellent. We ordered them "medium heat" and they were within the range I would expect medium to be. The Pa Nang doesn't have bamboo shoots, but it was loaded with zucchini instead. Our bowls weee pretty big so we took enough home for another meals. For the quality and quantity served it was well worth the cost. read more

I found and bookmarked this Thai place on yelp before coming here. My husband and I had a quick stop in Albuquerque before our trek back to Austin. We stopped here for a big lunch so it would keep us full for most of the ride home. Upon entering it was not that busy. We sat down and looked over the lunch menu. All lunch specials are served with an egg roll (you can get fried tofu as a substitute like I did ), lemongrass soup, your main meal, and tapioca pudding with fresh fruit. I ordered the green curry with shrimp made Thai spicy. The green curry was flavorful and a decent size portion. There wasn't many shrimp in the bowl but a better portion size compared to other Thai places I have gone to while in my travels. They have extra spicy available and I definitely used it. Thai spicy is weak for me at almost all places. My husband ordered the pad cashew nut off the lunch special menu. His lacked some flavor and he wasn't a huge fan. I had a nibble and I agree with his assessment. Overall the place is about 3.5 star. I liked that it was quick and the food was good for Americanized Thai food. read more

There are so many delicious-sounding options and I have never been disappointed with the ones I've chosen so far. The menu on their website is super organized. I love their 67-Pad Mee Sua (egg noodles stir-fried with veggies and a yummy sauce), 44-Pad Thai, and 97-Pad Phug Roum Midt (lots of veggies stir-fried in a yummy sauce with choice of jasmine or brown rice). Their Thai curry dishes are awesome, too. Friendly, helpful service every time I go. They're usually very busy each time I've visited in the past. All of the food that I have tried there have been amazing I have tried their red and green curry and I couldn't even pick a favorite. It is definitely a go to!!! The atmosphere is also nice and clean so you can enjoy your meal there you don't need to take it to go. The lunch special is a great deal on week day, for $ 9,95 you get rolls, lemongrass soup, entree and tapioca pudding and fruit!! You can't beat it for the quality. So as usual I found this spot on yelp and it had good reviews so me and the wife decided to try it out for lunch. Not much to look at from the outside and pretty small dining area but not a problem. Wife ordered the pad Thai and I pad the L11. My dish was pretty good and if not for what happened next, I probably would have come back. My wife was about less than halfway in and found a hair in her food. She was disgusted and didn't want it remade and just wanted to go. We let the server know and asked for the check. The server brought the check charging us for half of the meal. He said because she ate half. Wouldn't have eaten any had she saw it first. But in any event they ended up taking it all off the bill. It happens I know but when you don't know where the hair in your food came from, and you ate half of the food, it can be traumatizing. Then you want to charge half! There is only one good Thai restaurant in this town and this isn't it. I only buy there because it's close to my house and the good Thai place is over on the east side. The food is typically mediocre and nothing I've had there would come close to five stars, but tonight I give the pineapple fried rice a 1 or 2 at best. Thai Cuisine II has the best Pad Thai I have had at any restaurant EVER. I personally do hot for my heat, and it definitely is spicy! I'm too chicken to try the Thai hot, but the medium heat is also very good! The portion size is very generous and I always have leftovers. This place is poppin, and pretty small so if you go during busy hours expect to wait a bit. The waits worth it though, I promise! The service is always very good even though the waitress is stretched thin at times. I think the owner/chef brings the food out and helps out as well! All very nice people that work there, and service is very good! The price is not crazy either. This is hands down my favorite Thai place in Albuquerque! read more

Thai II is the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten at. Let's just get that out of the way, because I hold their menu (which they recently redesigned in a much more attractive manner) in the highest esteem. Though Albuquerque is endowed with a great many Thai restaurants, including a few really good ones, this is the pinnacle of that cuisine here. I've been a customer for years now, and the food's always been awesome. Sometimes I enjoy a curry dish (I prefer the texture of the white rice for this combination) but usually I go for the noodles. The Pad See Ew is a pleasing option, but I prefer the feistier Pad Kee Mow, which is available in a range of hotness levels: no heat; mild; medium; hot; and Thai hot. Those who enjoy a burn with their food will be suited by the medium. Hot is often accompanied by sweating and tears, while the Thai hot is so spicy that I recommend this only to the exceptionally brave. You won't impress anyone if you start crying uncontrollably into your noodles. Recently I discovered that Thai II offers a lunch special, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this time, the lunch menu features items for a couple bucks cheaper than the dinner menu, and each order comes with a soup, two vegetarian egg rolls, and a tapioca dessert. This is one of the better lunch deals you'll find in the area, and one which will keep me coming back for mid-day meals for a long time to come. Don't pass it up if you're in the area. Honestly, I can't praise this restaurant enough for always doing a terrific job. The service is quick and attentive, the food is divine, the dining area is clean and there's always parking either in the lot or on Sierra Drive. This just might be my favorite restaurant. read more

This place has half decent food but not worth the hassle with slow and inaccurate service. We ordered for delivery and then not had it shown up more than an hour later. The restaurant never bothered to call us to say they're no longer working with the delivery system we ordered from. (They should probably delete themselves from the app...) Our food was sitting there, cold, by the time we pieced together what was happening. They offered apology or explanation. Even with this awful experience my family insisted on trying to order there again, this time for pick up. It said a 45 minute wait. We then received a message that our food was ready. We head over and arrive and are told it's not ready. We've waited 30 minutes longer and now they're not even answering their phone for curbside. This place sucks and needs to get it together. You deserve to read the following: for my dollar, this is up there with the best Thai joints in the city. It's First Date Thai: inexpensive, hardscrabble stuff, served out of an old taco joint, if your date gets adventurous and he/she can handle the heat, the evening is still young. I'm not super into the curries, here (one exception: Mussaman), but I jones for the stir fry dishes, soups and salads. They do the itty-bitty-chop thing really well, allowing flavors and textures to meld beautifully, which is what you should get from this cuisine. That's all I need to tell you, really. See? Drastically improved review. Still not sure what's going on with the name of the place, though. read more
