    Drunken Noodles with Chicken
    Stacey A.

This review is way overdue. Hands down, Thai House is the best Thai spot in Modesto. My husband and I love trying new restaurants, and while there are a few Thai places in town, nothing and I mean nothing comes close to this one. From the food to the service to the cozy atmosphere, everything is consistently top-notch. Garlic Fried Rice - So flavorful and fragrant! The texture is just right soft without being mushy and the egg is cooked perfectly. It paired beautifully with the moo yang. Moo Yang - Thinly sliced, tender, and packed with flavor. The dipping sauce on the side adds a nice touch without overpowering it. Thai Tea - Creamy, refreshing, and not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. Drunken Noodles - OBSESSED. So light but full of flavor. The veggies are crisp and fresh, not soggy like at other places. I love that these aren't heavy on soy sauce like most spots around here. They're generous with the basil, and the noodles are super aromatic and delicious. It's hard to describe how good they are you just have to try them. The spice level is also on point, but they'll adjust it to your liking. Shrimp Tom Yum Soup - We ordered a small and it was the perfect size for sharing, with some left over. They even brought out little bowls for us. The broth had that ideal mix of sour, savory, and spicy comforting and flavorful. Water - Yes, I'm reviewing the water because it's that good. Ice cold, super refreshing, and served in real glasses not warm water in plastic cups like some places. It makes a difference when you're eating spicy food! The service is always amazing. The staff is so sweet and welcoming, and since it's family-owned, they really get to know you. The girls already know our order! I also love how spacious the restaurant is you're not crammed in next to other tables. If you're looking for incredible Thai food in Modesto, this is the place. You will not be disappointed.

    Beef Pad Thai

First time trying the Thai House which is hidden on Tully and Standiford Ave behind the Fire House. Heard about this years ago from an acquaintance but never had the chance to try it til now. Inside has no frills and reminds me of a banquet room with its open room concept. I have to say the service was great with 2 women waitresses servicing the restaurant. So went for a simple order of chicken satay and beef pad Thai. My wife was craving for soup and ordered the Tom kha kai (small). And also ordered a Thai ice tea large. So let me start with the soup. Never had it before but the one she ordered I just took a sip to try. It was coconut milk based soup with some sourness to it. My wife enjoyed the bowl of soup whereas I didn't like it. Different taste buds but I'll concur to my wife that it was good since she finished it. Chicken satay - basic sticks that is glazed with curry sauce. It comes with peanut sauce and a sweet cucumber side. No complaints on the satay. The cucumbers was cut somewhat large so didn't soak up the sweet sugary liquid it was soaked in. Minor complaint since I like them more cubed. (4 stars) The beef pad Thai- supposedly that's what it's known for. I thought also that it was good. But not the best I've had (mind you, I've had my share of pad Thai over the years and even had it in Thailand when I went on vacation). Portions is okay but didn't have any peanuts on the side of the dish that is customary. Besides beef, there was tofu and bean sprouts. It's not as sweet as Tasty Thai's pad Thai but probably more akin to what to expect in traditional pad Thai than the Americanized version done at Tasty Thai. I can definitely taste the fish sauce on Thai House which was more overbearing than what I like. The beef was thinly sliced and wasn't a lot on there if I was to be honest. Verdict - good (solid 4 stars out of 5) We shared the large Thai ice tea which was in a super size mug. If there was any highlight- it was probably this drink since we can't go to a Thai restaurant without ordering one. 5 stars. Overall, it's a good no frills Thai restaurant in modesto. Would we go back? For sure if we are craving for Thai food.

This is definitely my new favorite Thai restaurant in town. The food was delicious, and we had a fantastic experience during our visit. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff was hustling and the service was outstanding. It's the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy some amazing food. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Beef was amazing with great flavor. Chicken spring rolls had zero chicken in it just a bunch of lettuce and noodles. Service was great.

We came in on Sunday ~6:30p and the place wasn't full yet. However, I do think they were slightly understaffed; the poor lady at the front was serving ~6/7 tables while taking phone orders. The service was slightly slow, but I know they were trying their best. Pad thai: was decent, nothing special, but familiar flavors. Tomyum: we got a double order, and it came in a share bowl. This was yummy and had plenty of shrimp. Crying tiger: there were many pieces of marinated steak, it was super tender. The veggies were good when combined with the juice from the steak. The sauce is super spicy!

I have been going to Thai house, family run restaurant for about 12 years now. Service and food is hands down good every single time. The menu looks big, but the best servers in town like Malay-Kham aka Nok Noy and Daisy. They will guide you to the best options based on your liking and flavors. There mom and aunt who cook the food are heaven sent, food is delicious, homely, and tasty. Their fried garlic chili (homemade) is the best add on when you are looking for an extra kick. Their Young coconut ice cream, stir frys, soup, noodles are all bomb. Today I ordered clay pot noodles #32, my friends ordered #37 and #34. We all loved out meals, and the excellent fast service you receive with smile.

Is your sate dairy free And gluten free?? Any of your pad tai gf/df?…

They can make pretty much anything gluten free. I don't know about dairy, but I'm pretty sure they use coconut milk for the chicken satay.

This restaurant is off of Mitchell, which is a busy street, so it is easy to get to. It is part of a large shopping center so lots of parking. The restaurant itself it pretty spacious and has lot of seating. Could very well accommodate a larger group. We were greeted and seated right away. The lady that seated us was very pleasant and met us at the table with iced water and our menus. We ordered: 1. Thai teas: refreshing and delicious. 2. House Special: came with fried shrimp, fried broccoli, Laos sausage, fried chicken, beef jerky and fried egg roll. All fried to perfection and a great plate to purchase to appease most palates. 3. Large sticky rice: which is a must! 4. Laos papaya salad (mild): this comes with 6 Thai chilies and was perfect heat. It comes with a side of fresh cabbage. It was all the things we needed the salad to be. The sauce was dark in color, salty and that danky goodness! 5. Laos sausage: ordered this on accident because I didn't realize there was some sausage that came on the house special platter which was fine because we knew we were taking stuff home. 6. Crispy pork belly: marinated perfectly and fried to perfection. Dipping sauce complimented it well. So much food and I believe the bill came in under $90. A good amount of food, delicious and filling. Glad we stumbled upon this place and don't think it will be our last visit!
