Ive also never seen more than two people working outside of the kitchen, and it's also one of the slowest restaurants I've ever been to, no matter what time of day you go. Wow I usually have a great experience here but today was just bad. We were meeting some friends and everything seemed to be going okay at first but then it just went downhill. Once we were seated we were ignored for about 20 mins. Nobody said hello or brought water. Finally someone came and got our order and we ordered some appetizers and some simple entrees. Another family sat down next to us. We waited and waited and waited for our food. 30 mins went by and the waitress said our food would be out shortly. Then the water finally arrived. 45 mins went by and the family next to us received their food. We questioned the waitress about the wait and she said it was almost ready. It was 1 hour and 20 mins before we got our food and that's only because we said something. The restaurant was not busy. The family of 10 next to us was already finished with their food. This was unacceptable for a party of 4, with very simple orders. There was no apology or any sort of compensation for the extreme wait. I love Thai Land. I have to admit that a big part of the appeal of this place is the owner, who remembered me after only one visit and always asks me about my work (which is down the street). The service is so casual and friendly that it almost feels like going to eat at a friend's house instead of a restaurant. The lunch special is a steal. For about $8, you get soup, spring or summer roll, and an entree. The Tom Ka soup is caravable, and I alternate between the fresh spring roll and the fried egg roll since both are delicious. The available entrees change depending on the day, but massaman curry is always available and always delicious. We also come here for dinner on occasion and have tried many of the dishes. All the noodle dishes are great, with the Pad Siew with tofu being my personal favorite. The larb with sticky rice is superb and a perfect meal for a hot summer evening. My only disappointment is that you have to pay for extra rice and the fried banana dessert was lacking in banana of all things. This place has the best spring rolls ever made. The sauce is so flavorful and the mint mixed with the peanut and sweet and sour is amazing. I highly recommend the Pad Gra Prow and Pad Keemao. Service was excellent. They were very attentive to refilling water and drinks which is a must when eating spicy thai food. With 2 entrees and the spring rolls with shrimp it was only $30. We Loved this place. My husband went begrudgingly and admitted that after he started eating. The Satay was fantastic and the coconut soup put the final touch that perked us both up. Loved the chicken pad Thai! We have two children in high chairs and sometimes get treated subpar at restaurants like they resent us being there. The entire staff and even the owner was super friendly and acted like they adored our children. It was a Friday night and they were speed walking to try to provide the best service to everyone, but while at your table, they treated us like we were their only patrons. We will be back. Excellent food and very fast! I ate here for the first time today, and loved the flavor of both the Massaman and Crunchy Noodle curries. My husband grew up in Asia, has visited Thailand numerous times, and is very picky abut his Asian food. He was a fan and wanted to be sure I reviewed them on Yelp with 5 stars - and we don't write reviews often. Our to-go order was ready in 15 minutes and we were in and out with picking it up within 2 or 3 minutes. My only criticism would be regarding the thickness of the sauces. They were both extremely runny - runnier than I've ever encountered in a curry. It would have bothered me more if the flavor wasn't so great, but I think a bit thicker sauce would have really pushed these dishes over the top. We're excited to have a delicious Thai place so close to us, and this will definitely be one of regular spots. read more

Top-notch Thai. Huge portions, reasonable prices, and phenomenal flavors. One of the few Thai places I've been to that truly abides by the 1-5 spicy scale, which is a huge plus. Have heard so much about this place but hadn't ever been finally stopped by here with my wife and it was one of the best authentic Thai restaurants we've been to here is SLC.
