This is our third time here- we live 45 minutes away and the food is well worth the drive! We love Thai food in general and have tried all the restaurants in the Frederick area as well as many in Montgomery County - this is definitely the best we've had since our trip to Thailand! Extremely flavorful dishes with large portions. We always have leftovers and so excited to have them the next day. We've tried different items each time we've ordered take out and never been disappointed. We especially recommend the spicy eggplant, prik khing, and the curry puffs although we've really loved all the dishes we've tried. read more

Service was top notch. Liked the interior decor. Sat at a high top table and really enjoyed it. Appetizers were good, gyoza and spring rolls. I really enjoyed my green curry with tofu. It was spicy and delicious. The tofu was the star of the show against the creamy sauce. Family had a variety of dishes, wonton soup, fried rice, red curry with chicken and som tung gai yang. I've been to many Thai restaurants over the past two decades, Thai Metic takes Thai food to another level. The restaurant is clean, the silverware and plates are nice, the food is absolutely delicious. I ordered the drunken noodle, and it's the best I've ever had. Initially I was getting a nice basil and spice flavor which also left a nice wok cooked flavor. My wife ordered the Panang curry, which I also tried and it was fantastic. As an end I ordered mango and sticky rice which was wonderful and beautiful. The mango is cut into beautiful flower like shapes. I forgot to mention I started the meal with papaya salad, which I thought was absolutely the best papaya salad I've ever had. It's probably slightly more costly than other Thai restaurants, but absolutely worth it. The service is absolutely fantastic as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. I can't believe we're lucky enough to have it in Frederick! The meal for both of us was 63 bucks before tip. Worth every penny! read more

Driving home to dc and needed to stop for a bite to eat. Got the pad Thai with veggies. Was so pleased they used cardboard containers vs plastic. The pad that tasted great. Lots of flavor and good helping of veggies with the noodles. Definitely would go back here when given the chance. read more

First time coming to this restaurant after a disappointing visit to another local Thai place. Beautiful decor, and the staff was very welcoming. Everything here was excellent with good portions. We tried this place for the first time last weekend and brought takeout home again tonight. Best pad see ew my husband and I have found in this region. Hands down the best flavor. They ask what spice level you want, which not all restaurants will. We like spice and they crank up the heat! We've also enjoyed their spring rolls, mango sticky rice, and chicken satay. Top notch. Thai Meric is still new and growing accustomed to what it means to be shared on the food social groups of Frederick. I have been here 3 times in 2 weeks. The first time our order was ready on time and absolutely delicious. The second time, a week after their opening, on a Saturday... we were quoted at 40 mins and ended up waiting an hour and 30. We were offered free thai tea while we waited. (Best I've ever had). The third time we ate there for lunch. Consistency is key and their food was absolutely delicious every time. The portion to price ratio is outrageous! I'm not to experienced with Thai food but have tried several menu items that I've never had before and have been pleased each and every time. The staff and owner are as friendly and humble as can be. This place deserves your business. read more

I came here with my friend for her birthday. Dinner was great but the service sucked. The server kept asking us if we wanted to box up our food, while we were eating and talking. After his third attempt we said fine and packed up the food. Our bill was around $70 and I gave a tip. The server picked up the card reader and made a scene in front of the entire restaurant. He asked us why we didn't tip 25%. He stated that customers only tip under 25% when the service is bad. We could not believe the disgusting behavior he was exhibiting. Tipping is 100% optional, however, we still tipped. We were also the only minorities in the restaurant, and the only people they did this to. We called the store to find out what was wrong. The supervisor told us they only pay their servers $5 an hour and expect customers to tip at least 25% to make up for the low pay. This place is truly disgusting. Don't come here unless you're tipping 25% because when I told them talking to customers like that was unacceptable, they stated that they would only take it into consideration. They didn't even apologize. And to the server, if your job cannot pay you well, there are plenty of other jobs out there. Please stop bullying people for extra money that you do not deserve. read more

I went here today with a friend and it was DELICIOUS. The Thai tea was fresh and creamy. We tried the spring rolls and dumplings as an appetizer and both were delicious and flavorful. I also had the lunch special so I could try the chicken puff pastry and the chicken pad Thai. The pastry in particular was scrumptious. My friend had the tangerine beef which was crisped perfectly. Had no idea what to expect but pleasantly surprised at the beautiful building, small but very nice inside. We didn't have reservations, and when we walked in at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon, although tables were empty they all had been reserved so we were seated outside on a back patio which would have been lovely if it hadn't been so windy that day. However the service and food made up for it! Excellent service and the food was great! And when I walked in through the restaurant to use the restroom about an hour later the dining room was filled. Call Teri new Thai restaurant and bar right off the golden mile in downtown Frederick. Food is quite tasty. I came with my wife, and got the kaprow Krub with sautéed duck medium spice. It was pretty hot albeit tasty, just tolerable for this Bajan who enjoys some spice! Also got wonton soup which came with a dash of green curry, also quite good. My wife got the basil fried rice which she enjoyed but found slightly oily. Staff are accommodating. I will return! read more

Just tried this restaurant and was very pleased. Our server Tiffany was very friendly and took very good care of us. Started out with the duck roll and papaya salad and both were amazing! The salad had just the right amount of spice, didn't overpower the other flavors. My wife had the honey ginger duck which was perfectly cooked. Great flavor and served with steamed vegetables. I had my go to dish, pad thai with seafood. It was delicious with the okinawan beer. We'll be pack soon and highly recommend this place. read more

This restaurant is in the same location as a previous Thai restaurant called Thai Rice . The food was excellent and the decor was updated. The staff was helpful and attentive. I had beef kapow with medium heat but will probably go for hot next time. My daughter had gai pad Thai and enjoyed it. Will definitely return. read more

Just opened and we know our way around some thai food. Firstly, the plating is as beautiful as the pictures present. We tried the chicken puff pastries and the salmon cerviche for appetizers. Loved the chicken puff pastries and the serving sauce was on point. The cerviche was one note but my husband gobbled it down, with no complaints The larb gai was wonderful. Just a little tweeking on the Tom yum and they will have it. I got the honey ginger duck and it was fantastic, the plate was gorgeous, everything was cooked perfectly. Very flavorful. My husband got the Thai Meric steak, the steak was tender and juicy and he loved the serving sauce for sure, it really added complexity to the flavors. Portions are large, we definitely couldn't finish everything but we also ordered a ton to taste. And prices are very reasonable for our area. And of course we ordered three desserts for two people, logically! Love mango stick rice, and it was delicious. The pandan toast was simple and amazing. The Fried banana was yummy and well made but the sauce was flat. However that was not intended as a complaint because everything was fantastic.
