    Chicken Pad Thai

My first time at this restaurant after reading the reviews. I tried the previous owner who was a flop. I have a standard that I compare all my Thai restaurants to as guideline on flavor, presentation, quality, and the amount of food you get for your money. I really wanted this place to come on top being really close to my house. To start the host was so nice and inviting. We started out with a Crispy Roll appetizer and she even threw in some crab Rangoons for free when she asked us if we were allergic to crab. The Crispy Rolls are good but the Crab Rangoons had nothing but cream cheese inside which made it a little bland. At least you have sweet chili sauce to dip it in. My wife ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and I got the Shrimp Volcano after reading the reviews. The presentation coming out looked fantastic on both. The Shrimp Volcano is steaming hot on a hot plate and they pour the sweet chili sauce on top which steams up. My plate also comes with Jasmine rice on the side. The vegetables underneath the fried Shrimp are basically steamed with the sauce, so after a couple of bites my shrimp starts to get soggy due to the steam and chili sauce. Basically a hot mess. The rice and shrimp were cooked perfectly, it was just okay nothing to want to say I'm going come back for that! The veggies underneath are steamed with the chili sauce over them. They needed seasoning like salt, just bland to me. My Wife's Chicken Pad Thai was too sweet, we eat Pad Thai everywhere so we know it's going to be sweet, but this is overly sweet and the peanuts aren't salty at all, just like the dish itself. The noodles are missing some seasoning, like it needed salt. It was missing something. All I can tell you is our standard for comparison is the Green Papaya at River City. They have the best Pad Thai I ever tasted. They have a huge following here so I hope they do well but it's not for us. Green Papaya for me!

An absolute gem of a place. Came here for lunch with a group of fellow coasties and we were greeted with the warmest welcome. Our waitress was really attentive and quick to make sure we had everything we needed. Everything on the menu looked delicious so of course it was difficult to decide. I eventually settled on the crispy duck with panang curry and it did not disappoint. The sauce was a buttery peanut flavor with a hint of sweetness and just a tiny bit of spice at the end. The duck looked overcooked at first but was actually extremely tender. Our waitress brought out crispy egg rolls on the house and our food took only about 5 minutes to come out. Talk about fast! All the plates were very full so you will not leave here hungry lol. And to top it off- we all enjoyed fresh, sweet slices of mango.

Since we got take-out, we can't speak to the atmosphere or service. It was super easy to order online, pay with credit card, and pick up. The food was ready in the exact time they said it would be. Food was well packaged, kept heat, no leakage. The red curry and rice was delicious. Great portion size, had just the right amount of heat and sauciness. The pineapple fried rice could have had a little more pineapple! It tasted rather heavily curry powdered, which was a bit disappointing. It was still tasty though! The chicken pad Thai was surprisingly pink?? I don't know where the color came from, but it was still tasty. Good flavor, veggies mixed in, and the classic peanuts and lime.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Jax. Stopped in for a late dinner the other night. Had exceptional service as always. The food is hands down always hot and fresh and made with love. I ordered the Thai Dumplings as an app, and the Thai basil fried ride with chicken and shrimp, amazing!!

Great Customer Service. Great food that's made to order. Be aware that it comes out HOT, please let it cool before eating it. Very clean place also.

Had the yearning for some Thai food. Was visiting in Jacksonville Florida and ran into this place. If you see it, Run like the wind. Food had NO seasoning and was super bland. Plus it costs $17 without a drink. Cardboard with cashews. That is all.

Walking in here is like walking into your favorite aunt's living room. The sweet owner is very welcoming and friendly. I've been here 4 times so far and I will be coming back more. This is the most authentic place in Jacksonville for Thai Food. Hot tea is served in a traditional pot and delicious. The soup is large enough for two to share and is your quick fix for a sore throat. The fresh rolls certainly are full of fresh ingredients. All the entrees I have had are large portions and simply delicious. Service is wonderful even when it's busy.

I'm sad. I'm sad this place isn't in St Augustine, or have a location closer to St Augustine…read more Ever since I discovered this place, I try to add it in when I'm in the area. Unfortunately, I'm not in the area that much, and only once did I make the journey just to come here. What is the draw, you may ask? Great beer, great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! , That said, every meal I have had here has been delicious. The beer is pretty darn good & cold too! Of course, with the long drive...ya gotta limit it. But it's worth it for anything on the menu. I don't know where to start food-wise, I am trying to eat my way around the menu. The gator tail and fish dip are two of my favorites for small bites/appetizers. The Elk burger, the Taphouse burger, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich are always amazing....and then there's the cole slaw...yummy! Delicious food, and they have more than just sandwiches. The menu offers a little something different. The atmosphere and vibe are always inviting, and the staff is super friendly. The prices are fair, portions are ample, and there is plenty of parking. The decor is fun too! Not to mention, they give a veteran discount with proof of ID. What more can you ask for? Well, I know what I can ask for! To the owners: pretty please, with sugar on top, consider opening a location in St. Augustine. Not in the downtown area, but the folks north of town need something; they need you! Around the Palencia & Kensington area, off US 1 to be exact...or anywhere nearby in that area. The folks there would love something they can walk to, ride bikes to, maybe even use a golf cart to get to...and yes, a short drive is good too. Jus' sayin'! Please just check it out...I said pretty please!

When having my boyfriend and his momma pick me up after a work trip to have a weekend to visit…read morethem, they suggested this location for lunch before we made the drive back to Eustis where she lives. They had mentioned seeing some good Yelp reviews, and the menu looked intriguing. I had already had breakfast at a great locally owned place, so my appetite was smaller. What We Ordered: - Oyster Po Boy: my boyfriend and his momma split this, and they both said it was okay though they HATED the gumbo. Very unfortunate as when splitting they had to pay for an additional portion of it. - Blackened Mahi Sandwich: this was recommended by our waitress who started out fantastic, but ultimately disappeared after food delivered so I went without a drink for quite some time. I did eat enough a portion of mine before running out of coke, so I had to pause eating as I need a liquid as I eat. I had split this with my boyfriend, so he enjoyed his fully warm. Mine was good for those first few bites, and really enjoyed the fries. They remind me of the filmstrip fries you can get in Disney's California Adventure. - Coke + Lime: if the machine is calibrated, this is always a win for me! It definitely made a travel day better. Sadly, between the waitress being inattentive after the food was delivered and there being quite the unsavory show being played, this was a miss for me. Who plays Steve Wilkos in a restaurant? It's the modern day Jerry Springer show. I just find that baffling to be quite honest, though we did get a chuckle at it while I waiting desperately for a refill so I could eat the remaining portion of my meal.

The food is always delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices are very affordable. It's the kind of place where you know you're going to leave full and happy every time. The staff is always welcoming and genuinely kind, which makes a big difference. Priscilla in particular is absolutely amazing. She is incredibly sweet, attentive, and truly makes every visit feel special. She even remembers our names when we come in, which says a lot about how much she cares about the customers. She's a sincere asset to the restaurant. Between the consistently great food, excellent service, and warm atmosphere, La Nopalera is a place we always look forward to visiting. Highly recommend!

Sunday afternoon visit:…read more What we liked * Immediate seating * Free chips and salsa What could of been better: * asked about the hand crafted margaritas on the menu and the waitress was clueless. Couldn't explain what the difference was between that and the ones listed at the top of the menu. Was hoping for fresh squeezed or something. * Order 4 margaritas and they came in a plastic to go cup because they were out of glasses. These were by far some of the saddest margaritas I've ever had. Had a chicken a rice dish that was ok, nothing special. Just didn't enjoy our visit and don't see us returning
