Doughnuts had a soft chewy texture to it that was addictively delicious and the sweetened condensed milk made it even better!
    Blake Z.

I made it up to Jacksonville this weekend to meet with a good friend. Being famished from driving, we opted for something close by and went to the Banana Leaf Asian Bistro! Going in, there was an hour before closing and the place was moderately packed. For dinner, we ordered 2x milk teas, 1x spring rolls, 1x Banana Leaf special pho, 1x beef stew, and 1x Asian doughnuts. Going into my review, for the most part, everything was great! The Thai milk tea I ordered was ok, but it tasted more like coffee with a hint of Thai spice. The spring rolls had a nice soft chewy texture, stuffed nicely, and a creamy peanut sauce! The pho was a great value, in comparison to other spots, and had underlying aromatics! Beef stew had a nice balance of sweet, salty, and sour flavor; great amount of meat! But there was no tendon and tripe in mine. The doughnuts had a soft chewy texture to it that was addictively delicious and the sweetened condensed milk made it even better! Overall, we highly enjoyed our meal despite some small critiques above and would be happy to come back again! Overall, final verdict 4/5 stars!

    Rare beef pho!

I absolutely love banana leaf Asian bistro! Their pho is absolutely delicious and always fresh. I always get the rare beef pho and spice it up a bit with some of the sauces on the table. The servers are always kind and friendly and the restaurant is clean and welcoming. It is absolutely a whole in the wall gem on the westside! I also recommend their honeydew boba tea *chefs kiss* it's flavorful and so delicious. I visit here often and always love telling friends about this spot! If you love pho and other dishes I recommend you check this place out for yourself!

Yes! An authentic Cambodian/Khmer restaurant in Jax! A hidden gem located on Cassat Ave. Met my parents and sister here for lunch and the ambiance is calm and casual. Our server is the owner and apparently knows my parents. We're a big Cambodian community so it's, in a way, expected. It was a chilly outside so I ordered the Vietnamese pho with all the meats: flank, meatballs, tripe, and tendon. My sister and dad ordered the Phnom Penh noodles and step-mom got the Beef sticks with rice. My pho was hot and the broth was good. Everything came together well. There were other items I wanted to try but will save for another day. Looking forward in coming back soon!!

Looking for authentic Vietnamese-Cambodian cuisine? This restaurant off I-10 in Jax,FL is worth filling your craving! The service is great with the food well prepared and you can taste the authenticity of the food! They have plenty of space for parking with bright lights. The inside is very clean and the bathroom too is spotless! The papaya salad is freshly made and so refreshing as an appetiser! In my opinion, the meal is just rightfully priced! Family owned.

    Cambodian noodles soup.

Overall, quality Cambodian, Viet, and Thai food -- of course, if you come here you're crazy to get anything other than the Cambodian given Cambodian restaurants are few and far between in Florida. And the Cambodian noodle soup I had was quite good -- much like pho. Their summer rolls, which are stuffed with chicken instead of pork as common with Viet summer rolls, are also pretty good. Service was prompt and friendly (they were not however busy when we stopped in, though) and the restaurant has a calm feel to it with tranquil music and a southeast Asian interior that is appropriate for the cuisines at hand if a bit worn around the edges. All in all, a good experience. I really liked their peanut sauce for the summer rolls though I think the actual summer rolls are better over at Pho 7777: more robust and flavorful. I still though would really encourage people to try this restaurant for something different and order some of the Cambodian food for sure.

The place is totally non pretentious, however cozy and bigger inside than what it looks from the outside. The service was very helpful and friendly. I honestly don't know much about Cambodian food and didn't felt like venturing today so went for the pad thai; which I'm going to say it was good but not great. There are better options in town. I need to come back and maybe try some of the more traditional dishes to make a better review of Cambodian food.

Amazing hidden gem! I came here for work from out of state and couldn't ask for anything better. Home cooked meal vibes. Must try!

Amazing cambodia food, very friendly and polite staff. Great service and quick. Would differently be back.

Today we stopped in to try out a new place. We sat at the bar area and ordered a to go meal. The interior is very clean and updated, the waitress was very pleasant and attentive, and our order showed up fast and hot! *Egg Rolls: they come with 4 rolls and a side of sweet chilli sauce. The wrappers were crispy and the filling had ground chicken. Super good! *Curry Chickenn with white rice: We ordered a level 3 spice, out of 10, and it had flavor with moderate heat. The sauce for the curry was slightly thickened almost like a thin gravy. Very tasty. *Pad Thai chicken: we ordered a level 3, out of a 10, but it was very spicy for us. I did like there were lots of green onions and plenty of crushed peanuts on top, the chicken was tender, and plenty of noodles!

I stopped here around 2 PM and there was no one inside. Obviously on Saturday around this time most people are at brunch, so I took great advantage of the fact that I would be able to have the restaurant to myself. The service was very friendly and nice. I ordered the Pho Bo with cooked beef. It came out less than 10 minutes later. This literally hit the spot for my full day of hanging out at the museum earlier and shopping ahead. The pho was very flavorful and they give you a hearty portion - definitely enough for leftovers. Even though it was so hot that I burnt my tongue, I could not stop slurping the delicious broth. The only thing I did not like about this dish was the fact that there was not enough meat. I do see that on the menu. There's a surcharge for extra meat in the soup, but I do feel like they were a little stingy on the tasty beef in my dish. The sprouts, basil, and jalapeños were fresh and they gave a good portion to add in. Overall, based on the delicious pho and great price I will be back for another visit.

Arrival was entirely effortless, as I secured a lovely private parking spot right outside. The service was prompt and exceptionally courteous. To begin, I ordered my absolute favorite, an Iced Thai Tea, which was prepared to perfection rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying. For my main course, I selected the P1 Pho Special (Bún bò Huế). When the steaming bowl arrived, it was a lavish, extraordinarily generous masterpiece brimming with steak, flank, tendon, tripe, and beef meatballs. Every single element was tender, incredibly rich, and cooked to absolute perfection. It made for a delightfully hearty and comforting luncheon that exceeded every expectation! Pho Today has firmly established itself as a top-tier five-star favorite of mine. Full marks for exceptional flavor and wonderful hospitality I shall most certainly be returning!

The decor inside is pretty worn out (alot of booths had holes in the seats, the fish tank was empty, etc), but I would return for the A13 and pho!

Everything we had was super tasty! Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately and seated. Our waitress and waiter (we had two) were super sweet, attentive, and cheerful. I missed eating home cooked Vietnamese food so we decided to come and enjoy a meal here. Everything was clean (floors, tables, and bathroom). We had the following: Grilled pork summer rolls: 8.5/10 - fresh, bright, and full of veggies, vermicelli, pork, and a crunchy roll inside. It was so delicious! I love summer rolls and this hit the spot! The peanut dipping sauce went so well with the rolls. I loved how the rolls had so many great textures. Pho dac biet (combination): 7.5/10 - the broth was alot more flavorful and it came with a generous amount of meat (beef balls, sliced beef, tripe) and lots of fresh veggies (lime, cilantro, jalapeno, mint, bean sprouts). Last time when we went, the broth was lacking flavor but now, it's pretty good. Beef combo plate w/rice: 8 - the beef was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor! The lemongrass flavor wasn't strong or overpowering and they give you a good amount of beef. It came with white rice and pickled veggies (daikon, cucumber, and carrots) and fish sauce. Again, super flavorful and I actually cleaned the plate! The only small critique was that I thought the meat was going to be like short ribs and the waitress confirmed it was, but it wasn't. Avocado smoothie: 8/10 - I love avocado smoothies and its hard to find a place that makes it right. Here, it was absolutely perfect! The avocado's flavor really shined. Most places would make it way too sweet and you can't taste the avocado. However, I was able to taste the fresh avocado and the sweetness was on point. Overall, I'm super happy about the improvements and will definitely be coming back! Glad there's an authentic Vietnamese restaurant not too far from us now!

My only complaint is I expected more heat from the gochujang. The Bonchon is essentially a flight of pickled sides: sweet pickled cucumbers, sweet pickled carrots and daikon (similar to what you'd find on a Vietnamese banh mi), and a well-fermented kimchi with mild heat and great flavor. Word of caution: if you want their take on Chow Fun noodles, order the "Beef Haw Fun" instead.
