I love stacking the veggies on, and at the end you can even put a drizzle of balsamic, olive oil, pesto, buffalo sauce... possibilities are endless! All the servers were so friendly and patient as we were reading the ingredients. They let you take your time with choosing what you want on your build your own, but somehow your pizza comes out so quickly! It takes about 3 minutes in the wood fired oven, for a thin crisp crust. They were very kind and patient, helping to get the reward applied quickly and correctly. Jaya was also very attentive to the dining room, checking in on guests and clearing pizza pans. Pizza was yummy, as usual. Can never go wrong with a s'mores pie. I haven't dined in at a Blaze in a very long time, but the establishment was really well maintained for late on a "holiday" night. The service was quick and mostly efficient. It was my first time going and mistakenly chose the pick up delivered to the car. They most certainly don't take it to your car. I'm a huge fan of all types of pizza but I really couldn't stand the soft and squishy bread. I can't call it pizza crust because it just wasn't that. I've been to a Blaze Pizza location in Pittsburgh before, but my experience here was much better! We stopped after I was just picked up from the airport. You get in line and make your pizza with the employee as you go down the line. I like that you can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. Obviously I loaded mine up with a ton of veggies. I got the regular crust, red sauce, fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese, and almost every veggie. I also added the vegan chorizo on half because I remembered it being pretty spicy last time. Our pizza was brought out before we were even finished getting our drinks after paying. So quick! The girl that came around to the tables really made our experience great. She was so friendly and brought us silverware, parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes without us even asking. She brought around boxes and made sure everyone was doing well. We couldn't believe how great the service was. We each ate half of our pizzas and the rest was still good the next day heated up. While traveling, this yummy pizza place ended up being our one-stop-shop for delicious food, a restroom, and fast service. The food and service were on-point and there seemed to be more than enough staff working! I loved the variety of toppings and crust options so I could make the pizza exactly what I wanted. The ambiance was perfect for bringing two kids into a restaurant. It's not a formal sit down, but an order and sit kind of place. While on the stop we even saw a letters to Santa station which was a nice touch. However, realizing this isn't quite Blaze's fault (more like the landlord) the bathrooms were backed up and closed. I think, in all the years I've come here, they've only fire bricked my pizza ONCE, and they were so professional that they wouldn't serve me that pizza. Instead, they created the same pizza and fired up another one. Every pizza I have created has been mouthwateringly delicious! I bring my mom here, because it's one of the only places that she can get a gluten-free pizza, ordered custom-made the way she likes it. Every pizza is made right then, with the toppings, sauces, cheeses, & dough. Not All Blaze Pizzas are created Equal! Blaze Pizza has a great menu and a great program! That said so long as you don't scream that up you can land a 3 star from jump. To get those last two stars really comes down to the people, the experience, the location. Unfortunately, the Blaze at RiverCity Marketplace leaves a lot to be desired. It's not that they are awful, or rude/mean, it's not that the restaurant is dirty, or even that something particularly awful happened. It's just that nothing great happened either. They're not mean or rude but they're also not super pleasant or nice. They don't follow standard restaurant social cues like when I'm standing way back and looking at the menu and to come order I would easily have to walk 5 steps up to speak at a normal volume to order but you yell out if we are ready to order and there is no one behind us... then seem someone put off when we say no. It's not filthy but it's also not well kept and the set up really doesn't make sense. For example the only place to get napkins is on top of the trash can... tables are fixed to the floor so that one side is lined in a booth and the other chairs, there is a gap between the table in the middle on both side but not big enough for someone to get out between them so if you're in the booth you would have to ask the people seated next to you to please get up if you needed to get out for any reason. The menu is fantastic, the ingredients are wonderful and so long as they get that right you will not be disappointed in the food but if you're looking for a solid dining experience or are something of a germaphobe this place isn't for you. Oh and if you get the veggie pizza, you will have to add veggies to it because "seasonal veggies, mushrooms, red onions, 2-3 types of cheese" sometimes means broccoli, mushrooms, and cheese. So though the menu is solid and the food tastes amazing you do need to ensure it's made with all the ingredients you're requesting as I had to add the red onions myself plus a few other veggies. Also I would like to add that the Blaze Pizza at the Saint John's Town Center definitely has the added bonuses! So if you just need a grab and go, this is good enough. You've just gotta LOVE a GOOD pizza. Blaze Pizza is another one of those quick-fire spots, a place where you can watch your pizza as it's made in front of you and cooked in a flash-fire style oven. This, honestly, is probably what makes it better than those restaurants with the Lincoln oven, standard at most pizza chains. That said, it makes ALL the difference. I've been here a few times before, and I've never had a bad experience, but something about this visit made me want to sit down and write about it. Maybe it was the GREAT service by Maddie and the rest of the team, mostly was the fresh-tasting ingredients, definitely the lemonades (who thinks of a blackberry basil lemonade...huh? What the heck is even that? Alas, it's good), or maybe it's just the comfortable environment in times of a pandemic. Might I randomly add that the bathrooms were CLEAN and smelled like BLEACH and whatever else it was cleaned with. To think, you can try one of their custom-made pizzas or build your own with whatever ingredients you want, and I mean whatever ingredients you want. I stacked mine full of vegetables and chicken and Italian sausage and no one balked at my suggestions; just kept the same sunny disposition as when I first walked in. I've heard of Blaze, even passed by their location in Disney Springs, but never got the chance to stop in and check it out at all. I was up on this side of town visiting a friend at UF Health North and was pretty hungry once I left, so I popped open the Yelp app and Blaze was at the top of the nearby restaurants. Another thing that I discovered on the Yelp app is that if you check in and spend $8 or more, you can get your fountain drink for free. I'm all about saving a little moolah when I can. So don't forget to use it, friends! Anyways, onto the pizza. Having eaten at Your Pie in the past, I'd say that their pizzas are the perfect size for a single serving. Now having been to Blaze, I could only eat about 4 slices, of my six-slice pie. It was much bigger, and probably a better deal for the size of it, so you'll most likely go home with leftovers. I ordered the Link In, and added artichoke and roasted broccoli to it. For a drink, I tried the Blood Orange Lemonade, which was quite tasty. My only qualm, and what's keeping me from five stars, is that the lady making my pizza was so stingy on the added veggies. I don't know if that's an all-around Blaze practice (trying to stretch their veggies as far as they can) or just a personal thing with that specific server. I just felt it a bit silly as I watched her take one piece of artichoke and shred it in front of me. Additionally, I didn't realize that you could add some finishing touches to your pizza at the end with some arugula, balsamic glaze or olive oil. This place was surprisingly good. We came in for the first time this past weekend and this place was packed. I like that we could build our own pizza and the size is good enough for one person to eat. All for the ingredients are so fresh and affordable. They have enough employees to accommodate the crowd so we didn't have to wait that long in line. The decor is modern and spacious. The pizza was very delicious and so was the juice. I like how they set up the juice station instead of just seeing sodas. Great way to encourage us to be healthier.
