    Khao soi chicken
    Cindy D.

Super limited menu, like the least amount of items I have ever seen on a menu so I assumed they really take pride in the dishes they offered. I got the khao soi with chicken. I am not a khao soi kinda person but this dish was actually not bad. I was surprised to see mustard greens there in a dish so it definitely was different. The broth was very yummy, packed with lots of flavour. Enjoyed the fried shallots and red onion that came with it as well. Good portion for the price. I had no idea this place existed and am happy my friend and I stumbled here by accident!

This place has a small menu with 2 daily specials. Tax is included in the prices. Fried pork belly was crispy, tender & juicy. It was served with a flavourful sweet & spicy sauce & sticky rice, which was unusual though slightly dry. Papaya salad had a great rich sauce with fish sauce & dried shrimp. Beef balls (7) were really springy & served with a sweet & savoury sauce. They were full of umami flavour. Chicken wings (6) were on the smaller side but crispy, juicy & tasty. I think they had some shrimp paste. They were served with a sweet chili sauce that I think was a homemade version of Thai chili sauce. It was decent but the pork belly sauce was better. Thai iced tea tasted pretty good but needed more condensed milk instead of syrup. The sweetness & taste were right but it was too thin. It was the only dish that wasn't great.

Thai Nyyom located along Bloor St. W. near Symington Ave, is a small Thai eatery serving up homemade and authentic eats with no MSG. I heard about Thai Nyyom from another IG-er and had always been interested in trying the place. Serving mainly only 3 dishes (along with another special), the space is small with about 5-6 tables and some window seating as well. You do pay at the cashier first and then take a seat where your food will be brought to you. I stopped by Thai Nyyom on a Sat around 3:30pm to order take out. To my surprise, there were a handful of customers eating inside. I got the chicken rice for take out where my food took around 10 min to prepare. Staff were super friendly during my time there. Food wise, I love how the take out was packaged! The rice and chicken were wrapped up neatly using paper that kept it all together. Taste wise, the chicken with the sauce was delicious and the rice was flavourful and aromatic. The broth it came with was tasty and delicious. Everything was great and I hope to return for more to try their other dishes as well! Definitely recommend if you are around the area!

Omg! I cannot believe I waited so long before trying this place out! I am definitely happy I managed to dine in before their long holiday break. They are closed now, until Feb. 19th! Which is so awesome for them, and makes the patrons' desire and anticipation for the reopening duely noticed. I got the chicken rice dish with a wintermelon soup. It was lukewarm, yet tasty. The person I was with got the chef special that day, which was a spicy soup with chicken and rice noodles. My dish was accompanied with a gingery sauce that was so enjoyable I went back the next day to purchase one. Small, for $2. Both were superb! The chef really knows what they are doing. We had gone on Winter Solstice, a Thursday evening and the place was full. And quite lively. I had no idea they took reservations and we snagged a spot at the window's bar. We only had half hour to eat, which did make me feel rushed, as I scarfed down my food, not the best experience. The person I was with forgot about our time limit and quickly slurped the remaining soup stock from her bowl within the last 5 minutes of our stay. While leaving, what looked like a large enough portion of the soup contents. It was so hot and spicy, she conveyed. Personally, I don't like to leave food behind. However in some Cultures it can be a good sign. I was so excited to try their Thai iced Tea and didn't get it then, so I returned the next day and wow! What a treat indeed! Floral, fragrant, refreshing and delicious. I actually went out and got coconut milk, which I was told thats how it is prepared in Thailand. Service was friendly and effecient. I will most definitely return in the New Year. I was told a new menu can be expected.

It was our first time for lunch at Thai Nyyom and it lived up to the hype. Cute little place that smells amazing when you walk in. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. The flavours of the dishes were bright and fresh. Two of us shared their signature Khao Soi and the daily special, stewed pork (pork belly), egg and five spices. We will return!

Small restaurant with a very limited menu that depends on pedestrian traffic. I think there was literally 1 table + stools at the front window. There are like 3 main items to choose from Chicken Rice (like Hunan Chicken), Khao Soi (noodles in a curry soup), and whatever the Chef's Special is for the day. Each item is $13, so it is quite reasonable especially when comparing other Thai places in the City! Young girl who took my order was very friendly and I asked her for her recommendation. She suggested the Chef's Special which was Pork Penang Curry. It was delicious and flavours were authentic! I also got a Thai Iced Tea which was $4 - not bad. It was initially a bit sweet, but fine once some of the ice melted. Colour was legit. If you're in the mood for Thai, this a great option! Too bad that it's not really in a convenient area that has parking. You could probably park on a side street to pick up your takeout, but it is a bit of a hassle as it's located on busy Bloor St W!

Was craving some good Thai food and came here from a friend's recommendation. The restaurant is actually more of a take out spot so it is quite small and very limited seating (maybe 4 stools for a high top table). There were no other customers so we were able to grab a seat. The menu options were very limited to 3 items: chicken and rice, khao soi and daily specials which changes pretty often. They also had appetizers and dessert. We ordered their chicken and rice - very simple, lightly seasoned chicken slices on top of some plain white rice, a side cucumbers and refreshing wintermelon soup. The chicken pieces were a bit dry if eaten alone with just the rice, so with the addition of the dipping spicy sauce that came with it, it enhanced the dish flavours and the wintermelon soup to wash it down. The cucumber slices added a great crunch as well. The khao soi was very flavourful and creamy - loaded with a lot of toppings. We also ordered their papaya salad which was pretty good and it took me back to my trip to Thailand because of how authentic and spicy it tasted! Lastly, we also had a cup of Thai iced tea which had a nice and strong Thai tea flavour. We wanted to order their mango sticky rice for dessert but they unfortunately did not have it for the day. Will definitely want to try their mango sticky rice next time I return as it is one of my go to Thai desserts! The staff was very warm and welcoming, definitely a place I will return back to for some authentic Thai food.

One of my good friends took me to Thai Nyyom - she used to live in Thailand- and you can guarantee everything on their menu is fresh and traditional! Their small menu features rotating dishes and seasonal favorites. Please try their sticky rice and chicken Khao Soi, it's the best in the city! I find the Tofu Khao Soi is a bit bland, and their Pad Thai is on the runny side but, overall, I've never been disappointed here!

It was the perfect mix of sweet, sour, floral and bitter. I loved it! My husband had the Unit 75 which he really enjoyed. The grapfruit bitters rounded out the sweetness of the Chambord and the sourness of the lemon. We decided to order another cocktail each just as our food arrived. I had the I Have a Lychee Secret. It was a little on the sweet side, but was very yummy. I loved the black pepper on top but didn't really taste much cilantro. My husband had La Passionista which was great. It was so well-balanced and flavourful. The dumplings were AMAZING! The butterly pea infused tapioca gave the perfect bouncy, chewy texture to the outside and the mushroom and radish centres were so tasty. Our waitress explained that they should be eaten in a lettuce cup with cilantro, mint and peanuts. YUM! Such a flavour bomb. The only thing I would have changed would be to add some sort of a spicy, salty, sour dipping sauce like a nuoc cham. The green papaya fritters were also just fantastic. They were crispy, crunchy and the dipping sauce was a little spicy and sweet. All in all, we really enjoyed our meal and would 100% return. I have already reccomended them to others.
