I had a delicious fried pineapple rice and pork dish. Very courteous service. I've eaten here about a dozen times, never disappointed.

We came in and sat ourselves, chairs and tables kinda reminiscent of a Chinese buffet but not uncomfortable. Had a regular ice tea which kind of had a strange taste like rice but wasn't terrible. The menu was a little overwhelming and wordy but I found what I was looking for. At lunch time you get to pick a free appetizer which consists of soup, spring rolls or a salad. We had coconut shrimp which came with a chili dipping sauce both complimented each other well. I had chicken pad Thai which was typical I asked for extra crushed peanuts which the waitress accommodated without question. He had the pineapple fried rice with chicken which wasn't exactly what I was expecting with yellow curry which took away from the pineapple taste. I think this place is good for a quick bite but very casual probably more suited for takeout. read more

Honestly the best Thai food I have ever had. From the comfortable environment, to the friendly staff, and ALWAYS delicious fresh food. Growing up right outside of NYC I was exposed to incredible food especially Asian cuisine. Between NYC, Jersey, anywhere this is guaranteed to be one of the best. I really wanted to like this place more. Tried the Tom Yum soup and some of the Greek cookies. The cookies were really amazing and were definitely a great add-on, but I came for the soup, not greek food. Soup was not a great value It seemed like it was mostly broth and 2 tiny pieces of chicken and a few mushrooms. the daughter of the owner is very confusing and mis communicating . i ordered pick up, edamame & meat dumplings. i'm eating the edamame and notice towards the end there's a hair in my food. i call she tells me to come back with the plate and she'll give the money back. it's only $7 but her tone and deliverance with communication is terrible . i come back and now it's "if you were eating in the parking lot i could give it back but you were eating it in the parking lot" . please do better. food is great but she is not. read more

I wanted thai food when I was around the area and gave this place a try. It was Christmas Eve, so I decided to take-out instead so the workers can go home earlier to celebrate Christmas. I ordered a pad thai, a drunken noodle, and a thai ice tea. My friend had the pad thai and he said it was pretty good. He finished it quickly, so I am guessing it was really good, haha. I had the drunken noodles and I did not want to share with anyone because it was so good. The spice level was perfect and the noodles were delicious. Sadly, I got full easily and could not finish the noodles. I saved it for the next day and the noodles were still so good after I microwaved it! The locals mostly visit this place and know each other well. The tables are filled up quickly. We ordered fried rice and spicy chicken wings. The food portion is good and reasonably priced. On our way to Scranton kids we're getting grumpy as it was lunch time - we don't generally do rest stop food so we looked up yelp and discovered Thai Orchid just off the highway Pleasant hostess serving quality food - this is not large scale Thai food its more nuanced and menu is also well thought off We ordered Thai curry , dumplings , pad Thai , tom yum and all of it was good. I would give it more stars except my wife is a vegetarian and still felt she could smell some fish oil flavor in the veg dish but if ur like me and it doesn't bother u thumbs up And wait for ordering the finale home made Baklava this was the first time I think I tasted genuine baklava and I was happy it was fresh and not overburdened with sugar like the store ones are This is a 4 out of 5 for a stop by family meal read more

Thai Orchid is one of the better Thai joints I've eaten at. There might be one or two better, but there are tons worse out there. The ambience is a little blah, but I think they are very limited based on their building. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to special orders and requests. We have been eating there once or twice a month for the last six+ months and they have always got it right. But you're here to hear about the food, right? Well, at most restaurants, I find one, maybe two, things on the menu and stick with them. Here, there are about a half dozen things I've ordered and I'd order again and I'm always finding new things. My wife likes both the pad Thai and the drunken noodles and my favorites are the evil jungle curry and garlic delight. The only ding on them is that they are on the slightly pricey side. We are usually looking at a bit over $30 per trip. It's still good food and good service, so we keep coming back. read more

You rescued us after many nights of bad food in this area on our Poconos trip. Vegetable curry puffs were the best I've had anywhere. Tasty shrimp pad Thai wasn't at all greasy. Spring rolls were great, too. And thanks for poking those holes in the takeout containers so our fried rolls and puffs didn't get soggy. The guy at the counter was ridiculously friendly. Thank you! The owners of this restaurant have owned several other restaurants in the local area over the years. This place is, in my opinion, one of the best. I always get the yellow chicken curry and am never disappointed. It has a good amount of spice to it yet is light and fragrant. It is chock full of vegetables and comes with white rice. I usually end up full 1/3 of the way through the bowl but I cannot stop! It is a very small operation with only about 8 tables which can be good or bad. The last time we were there a woman spent her entire meal talking loudly on her cellphone and due to the small space, we were almost unable to ignore it. I give four stars instead of five because the prices are a bit high. Trust me the food is delicious and the portions are generous, but it seems that the prices are just the slightest bit elevated. Got takeout from here just now. We got the crispy spring rolls, Thai Dumpling soup and Garlic Delight platter with beef. They were great! The soup wasn't too heavily salted and the Garlic Delight platter was nicely seasoned and seemed pretty healthy as it had a lot of great veggies. I also felt compelled to write a review because the man who took my order and was working the counter (probably the manager), was very friendly. This place is about the best Thai restaurant in the area. The decor is not the greatest. But where that lack their food makes up for. The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. There are a few places to choose from when you want Thai in the Poconos. Thai Orchid is the only place we will go! The owner and his family run this place and are just the sweetest people! I'm one of those people that knows what I like and stick to it, but I have been trying to branch out. The pad Thai is easily the best I have ever had. They have a soup with coconut milk and mushrooms that is amazing and will warm you up head to toe. Their Thai salad is delicious, with cabbage and peanuts and lots of flavor. My husband enjoys getting curry dishes and has never complained about them. The fried rice dishes are simple and amazing. The place is small, and be prepared to wait for a table and your food at times. It is worth it though, 100%. They are especially busy on weekends and don't take reservations, due to their limited seating, so consider going for an early or late dinner. read more

Came here after a full day at kalahari. The food was outstanding! Hot Fresh tasty. Standard pad Thai was really good but the curries were fantastic as well. So glad to have found this place on Yelp. I personally could not take anymore fast food. My family was grateful as well. Will definitely come again next time we are out this way. read more

Was driving by from Camelback and needed to pick a restaurant on Yelp quick as it was almost 9 and this is not NYC where many places are open till10 or later. Did not expect such high quality Thai food in an area with little or no competition, so far from NYC! Great spring rolls. Every dish was enjoyable and made from fresh, authentic Thai ingredients. Pineapple fried rice... excellent! Kaeng Kua Curry with shrimp... excellent! Drunken Man noodle... excellent! Pad Ce Aew was good... Basil Eggplant excellent! Papaya salad was ok but missing lime or something. Place was spotless and friendly owner and server. I noticed another reviewer mention they are a bit pricy. LOL!!! Actually their prices were excellent, better than highly competitive Queens prices. Authentic Thai food requires ingredients that are not easy to get and preparation that is more involved than just throwing some pasta in a pot. I stopped here for dinner on my way driving back to NYC today. The food was very good even compare to some the Thai places in NYC and it's at a very reasonable price. A side story, I somehow left my Iphone on the table and forgot to bring it with me when I left. Didn't realize this till I got back to Jersey City. When I arrived the restaurant was completely full, since I was alone the owner asked if I minded if he cleared a small area for me. I didn't mind at all. It was not a traditional table but he was very nice to find a place for me so quickly. I order the curry samosa for an appetizer and the green curry as my entree. Both were fantastic though I did like the green curry more. The flavors were great, just as good or better than the green curry I had I Thailand which makes sense since the head chef/owner is from southeast( if I remember correctly) Thailand. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect from this little spot in Stroudsburg. I have had plenty of Thai food, and plenty of good Thai food, but this place was fantastic! The drunken noodles were absolutely delicious and the perfect amount of spice. I like how they use smaller rice noodles. The veggies were crisp and fresh, the mango for the sticky rice dessert was perfectly ripe and sweet. I don't find myself in Stroudsburg often, but if I do, I would definitely return here. Service was fast and friendly. Everyone in my group loved what they got! Normally places skimp on the Thai iced tea, but here they give you a nice large glass just like every other beverage. One of my favorite places in the Burgs! Best Thai around. Been here at least a dozen times, everything is amazing and authentic. Love the Mee Krob & steamed dumpling appetizers and the Drunken Man or Pineapple Rice entrees are to die for! They have a plethora of fine vegetarian offerings, all made with fresh, authentic ingredients. I have yet to detect that distinctive "out of a pouch" taste in any of their sauces and believe them when they say they are all made from scratch in house. AND it is BYOB, too!!! read more
