    Panang Curry with chicken
    John M.

Came here for dinner recently. Very small, no frills inside that is very well lit. I order the Panang curry with chicken. Food came out fast and taste was very good. The portion however is on the small side. I left feeling I could eat more.

Thai Orchid is not the best but you will not have a bad meal. The drunken noodles were okay, and the rice noodles is an additional $2. The curry puffs were not as crispy and flaky as I am used to. The staff is very attentive.

We are on the end of a 3 week road trip and visiting some friends tomorrow toward Scranton. Was having a hard time finding a hotel for The night and found this place close to the hotel. We called our order in about 15 minutes before we arrived and it was waiting for us. I tried dumpling soup and it is good. We split the Drunken Mans noodle with chicken and it was tasty and the heat level was right on. We also split apps of coconut chicken which were lightly breaded with a slightly coconut taste. We had steamed vegetable dumplings. I did not care as much for the sauce that came with the dumplings. It was thicker and more of a molasses taste to it. All in all we had great pick up service and enjoyed all aspects of our meal.

I absolutely loved my time here and the next time I come back to PA, this is definitely one of the stops I will be making. This authentic Thai restaurant will definitely make your tummy full and keep you happy. I shared 5 different dishes and a classic Thai Milk Tea, all of which were delicious. The restaurant itself is also kept very clean and you can eat in or call for takeout. I got their Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai, half of a duck, Crab Rangoons, and the Thai Dumpling Soup. The only new thing I haven't had before was the (chicken) dumpling soup. My only regret with this one was not ordering the bigger size because I really enjoyed the soup and tenderness and juiciness of the dumpling. It's really nice to have when consuming so much food. The pineapple fried rice tasted a bit different than usual ones I've had before and I wonder if it is because the owners are from the Northern part of Thailand and perhaps there's different styles of cooking there. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the flavor of the rice and I noticed there were even these sweet raisin-like elements in it. I think that added such a nice subtle sweetness to the fried rice. The Pad Thai and Crab Rangoons were also delicious so nothing much to say there. I would definitely order the Crab Rangoons for some contrast in flavor and texture. I really enjoyed how they were nicely fried and not overly oily. The filling mixed with the crunchiness of the shell was addicting. My partner and I ordered the duck on a whim as we haven't eaten duck in a while and we really enjoyed this one. I only wish the portion was bigger for its price but I still don't regret ordering it. The sauce was delicious on its own and if you get this, I would add it to your rice! Lastly, you really can't go wrong with a classic Thai Milk Tea and this was such a nice ending to the meal. The waitress was patient and kind and the kitchen works quick too. If you're looking for food around here that isn't fast food, this is definitely a place to check out!

We're in the area, and had a craving for Thai cuisine. Upon looking for a Thai restaurant in the area, we were surprised to see several choices. We decided to try out Thai Orchid because it was open, and close by. Their menu offers a wide selection of Thai curries, and other flavorful dishes. Seating area is not large, but accommodating. Staff was friendly, and service was fairly quick. The most important aspect was that all entrees ordered hit the mark. It was all nicely prepared, with just the right spices. They do offer take outs as well.

I am never trusting rural restaurant reviews for Asian restaurants ever again lol. The bar is so low... It's ok for a restaurant to have Americanized Asian food, that's fair. But the portion sizes for the price is unreasonable. It's poor quality, unauthentic, and not tasty. We ordered drunken noodles which contained miscellaneous vegetables and poorly seasoned tofu. We also ordered imitation duck and were dissatisfied with the oddly tasty sauce and the insufficient portion, considering the price. Service was fine and fast--but I'd prefer quality over speediness any day.

Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing Pad Thais I've ever had. The Thai crab fried rice had an odd texture--it was so soft and sticky, it reminded me more of rice cake than fried rice. I usually really enjoy Thai cuisine, but after this meal, I honestly wasn't sure what I had eaten. On top of that, the staff was not friendly, which made the experience even worse

Decent Thai food. The spring rolls are good and a cup of Thai iced tea is not stingy like some places which load it up with ice. My pad thai was ok. It was sweeter than I liked though.

My SO & I visited Thai Orchid while in the area for a show. Their menu offers many gluten-free dishes and I absolutely needed to try the drunken noodles. The restaurant is quaint, and the seating is very close, but we were there early enough to avoid being crammed. We were able to park in their lot and avoid street parking. The service was friendly and quick, which allowed us plenty of time to enjoy our meal. I felt comfortable with the reassurances from my server that my dish would be made carefully. My SO thought his drunken noodles with chicken were the best he's ever had and is demanding we return. The portion sizes were large, so I was able to get several meals out of my dish.

While having my car worked on locally I was hungry and decided to finally try Thai Orchid. I have shopped at the Asian Market they own quite a few times and for whatever reason, hadn't been in here yet. Wasn't sure when my car would be ready so I took the food to go. Got a Thai Iced Tea, Thai Hot Wings, and "The Drunken Man" which I simply took as a play on Drunken Noodles. The Thai Iced Tea tasted like any other I've ever had. Extremely sweet but delicious. The Wings were a no go for me. I wouldn't order these again. They basically seemed to be wings tossed in Thai Chili sauce and cayenne hot sauce with added crushed pepper and chili's overtop. They weren't bad, but I can imagine not very authentic, and honestly not very creative either. The Drunken Man was good. The noodles were a bit different than i'm used to seeing in Thai dishes, but the flavor was excellent. More of the crushed Chili and flakes from the wings added some heat to these, but I think I would have liked them hotter. I got chicken and the meat was good, and the vegetables were all fresh and delicious. I'll eventually go back and try some other dishes but I'd order that Drunken Man again and just ask for it hotter.

I tried this Thai Orchid on our way home from Great Wolf Lodge. They serve any dish from the menu vegan as long as you make them aware of your dietary choices when ordering. I tried the vegan pad Thai with seasoned tofu and vegetable spring rolls. The food was cooked fresh, deliciously fresh, it was very tasty! 4 The staff was very friendly and patient. The restaurant was very organized and clean. You have the option to dine inside, outside or order carryout. The prices are pretty reasonable. I'd say if you are in the area, give them a try and let us know about your experience. A pleasant surprise in the middle of long road trip! Location: a stand alone shop, easy to find, on a main road, with a small parking lot. Food: delicious! It was already 8:30pm and the place was packed. Had to wait 30min to be seated. I rarely eat this late but was craving some Asian favors so we found this gem! We ordered crying tiger, which is a marinated beef salad, tom yum soup, pad thai and drunken noodles. The flavors were different compared to other Thai places we've been. This one is more complex. We enjoyed every bite. Service: every server seemed to be multitasking and running around a lot. Can't complain. They were very busy. Price: reasonable pricing, paid $78 for two. Overall: will visit again if we are in the area.

A hidden gem on the road to New York! It is close to the major highway and gas station.

Ask the Community - Thai Orchid

    Is it a BYOB?

I think it is but would call the restaurant to confirm.

Anyone with celiac disease been here?

Yes I took my sister in early August. She has Celiac and many food allergies as well. She was treated royally by knowledgeable staff. The food was delicious, and she was thrilled.
