Yelp led me here for lunch while in Stroudsburg on business. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I went with the Evil Jungle curry with chicken and the soup of the day. Both were very solid. If you like things hot, I would suggest asking them to bump up the heat. It is advertised as the spiciest entree, but mine was medium spice at best. Loaded with fresh vegetables including eggplant which was a nice touch. Soup was great. Homemade noodles and fresh veggies in a rich chicken broth. Winner. The only downside is that it is a bit pricey. Don't have a good feel for the local economy, but prices were more Philadelphia area than northeast PA. Also, the way the room is laid out, do not sit anywhere near the door or you will get a cold blast. That is not a reason to skip this gem. Hope I am able to get there again someday. read more

I like new places and not much of that in Stroudsburg pa if anyone knows anything please let me know so when we had company come in we went to Indian food the Thai orchid. I have no idea what I'm getting into so bear with me.i went with the sweet and sour pork . let's see how it goes. The parking is good with off street parking. And it's free only if you are here. The building is extremely small with only 6 or 7 tables. The service is ok unless it's busy. And don't come if sunset cause the shades don't block the sun. Main room is clean with a good atmosphere and Indian pictures on most walls and a take out waiting area.finnshed very good I do recommend it here 5 stars because no complaints read more

This is the best Thai food I've had since...maybe ever. I had the drunken man with pork and fried noodles, and asked for it a bit extra spicy. It came out perfect, no extra seasoning required. My girl had the pra ram long song and it was almost as delicious as mine. She might say otherwise, but she ain't taking the time to review so whatever. She had the jasmine tea and I had the ginger and hers was better there, but they were both good. We shared the rice pudding and that was bangin too. All together with a 22% tip it was $40 well spent. I've been to most of the surrounding Thai restaurants (Saen, Thai Thani, etc) and after one visit to Thai Orchid, I wouldn't think twice about going back. Being from New York, and having access to great Thai food in Brooklyn & Manhattan, I was really satisfied with the service and food especially. Came for a family meal, ordered a few appetizers (curry puffs, spring rolls, steamed dumplings) all were good. They weren't mind-blowing, but you could tell they were made fresh. The Tom Kha soup had great flavor, just wish there were more vegetables in the soup itself. Cannot go wrong with the Thai Iced Tea as well. For the meal, ordered the Kaeng Kua Curry (hot) with chicken. I've never had this type of curry before, but it was a really great balance of spicy and sweet and I would absolutely order it again. But the real treat was the service. Decor wise, you're not going to find much. It's a very simple, almost cafeteria style layout. But everyone from the waitstaff (the waitress was extremely attentive), and even the owner made himself visible. At Saen the service was really slow, it was really a breath of fresh air to dine at Thai Orchid. Absolute must go if you're in the Pocono area. read more

This is my first time ordering from this place. We are not from the area, but first impression on handling orders and cleanliness between customers is a top priority for me. Unfortunately, my order was given to a different customer and now I have to wait for an undisclosed amount of time. Not even sure what they are doing to give me at this point. Front desk staff hasn't been seen sanitizing between customers. Truly not a place for me to come back in the near future. read more

Best Thai food. The Pad Thai is really good, they give you lime on the side, which adds a really nice flavor. Tom Kha Coconut soup is the best. Thai Ice tea is great as well. Food was so good, we came back again today, and I'm about to try their Red Curry. read more

Sometimes a hole in the wall can be the best food around, that is the case of Thai orchid. A husband and wife team run the place she is the chef and it is primarily Northern Thai food. A little later than your typical Thai but things taste so fresh, we love the cabbage salad with peanut sauce and also the drunken noodle. This is such a gem! Family owned and run with the love of family. Came here on a Saturday night and the place was packed. The family matriarch who does an amazing job of making sure the dining room is full of life and seamlessly running, was able to get us seated within 15 minutes. And it was well worth the wait! My wife and two kids from NY (Getting in the last ski trip of the season) were not expecting great Thai food in this area. Thai Orchid was very good. Great service and quality, tasty food. We had all the standards (pad Thai, fried rice, green curry etc). It was all delicious. And the bill was around $65 for the four of us. They don't serve beer but there's a place next door where I got some Sapporo. Thai Orchid are totally fine with BYOB. Overall, excellent. Check it out if you are in the neighborhood. Stroudsburg doesn't deserve a place as nice as Thai Orchid. A town catering mostly to the traffic of neighboring party school, ESU, there's not a lot of places that strike a balance between the obnoxious "bro" bar and the opposing "high end" restaurant /bar. Thai Orchid is a true gem amid the class mongering panderfest. Located off 9th street, Thai Orchid looks and feels like a secret. Aside from it's elegant sign, there's little to suggest the place being more than just another Pan-Asian take-out place. The inside is likewise modest but tasteful. But have a seat and just wait. There's nothing I wouldn't recommend on the menu, so I'll just tell you what I got on my last visit there. First a Thai iced tea to drink. It's a rich, refreshing novelty with spiced highlights and cream poured on top. It's amazing. I order it every time. Then for an appetizer, I tried something different. I had the namtok and sticky rice with chicken, sort of a savory salad served to desired spiciness--I got mine mild (which was just fine). It came out on a square, wooden plate looking absolutely dazzling (everything came out looking designed for shape and color; it was truly amazing to see all these beautiful little works of art come and then be promptly devoured); the dish was an array of tropical colors tinted by the purple LEDs lining the window frames. I cleared the plate, which was substantial, then sampled the left over dressing. Then I had the kaeng kua curry with beef. I usually go for the curry dishes because I like the creaminess of the broth, and this one included pineapple, which seemed exciting. Did not disappoint. The beef was tender and savory, and the pineapple was a delightfully sweet contrast. AND FOR DESSERT, I naturally ordered the fried banana rolls with mango ice cream because I'm only human. In summation. I don't like most things, but things I do like avail themselves to be liked again and again with added passion. Stroudsburg is generally a "micropolitan" of mediocrity, a place to commute away from (or just leave), but Thai Orchid is an oasis, and well deserving of a layover if you should be so fortunate. read more

What can I say about Thai Orchid other than this. Not all to often these days as humans do we honestly, sit down with our family or friends to have dinner. The constant day in and day out grind we've accustomed ourselves to, has caused us to forget how incredibly wonderful those moments were. Recently friends and I decided we would go out to eat and in not having done that in awhile, we didn't know where to go. Someone said "I heard this Thai place was good". We all agreed after discussing how some of us had never had Thai, others a few times and some veterans to the exotic delicacies of Thailand cuisine. Well... everything was extraordinary! Plenty of parking, beautiful, clean interiors, attentive wait staff, spa-like bathroom and soft ambient native Thailand music. This place had it all! Now with the food, I implore you to just go all in like we did. Each of us ordered different appetizers and entrees, then shared all of it. When the food arrived ,which let me add was very quick, it was a lot of "Ooh, try this....and ooh you gotta try that." Everything was so delicious! I mean you don't have to just take my word for it. Plenty of other reviews on here will tell you how incredibly sensational there food is and they're right!! We had so much fun on this night. It felt nostalgic and genuinely didn't break the bank when we got the check. If what I've explained to you sounds enticing I suggest, no...I dare you to take a night from the routine, don't get fast food or some lame corporate franchise microwaved bullsh*t.
