Arrived around 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday. There was a menu posted on the outside window. Was greeted upon walking in. Placed a to-go order for two lunches. The lunches were ready in about ten minutes as promised. The Thai fried rice with chicken came with a few ingredients. The lemongrass chicken tasted good with vegetables on the side and a container of jasmine rice.

Quick service and delicious food!!! I got the duck rolls and pad thai with chicken. The duck was very tender.

A great place for a low key, tasty meal! I swung by during the lunch hour on a weekday and the few tables outside filled up fast! They have affordable lunch specials for around $11 that include an appetizer and entree. For the appetizer, you can have either a fried taro spring roll which is perfectly fried, quite tasty, though on the smaller side; or a fresh green salad with a bright peanut dressing. There are several entree options. Both the drunken noodle and pad Thai are great, not too oily, and hit the spot. Service is efficient, friendly, and attentive. No complaints here and I'll be back when I'm next in the neighborhood.

    Red curry 5/5

Great spot! Felt family owned, small cozy spot with amazing food. Highly recommend. Red curry with tofu was some of the best I had and service was quick.

Great atmosphere, attentive and respectful service, delicious starters!! Absolutely incredible, will be back! The food came out quickly, tasted wonderful, and left us so full and happy. We also had the mango sticky rice which we didn't get a picture of because we were so excited to eat. I love Thai food and this is the best in the area.

Ate lunch here and ordered the pad see eaw and it tasted great. Sweet and flavorful, it def hit the spot. The beef was tender and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Also ordered a Thai iced tea and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really quick service (granted it was just me) and I'm glad I tried them out.

I did take out and the food got here pretty quickly and everything was cooked how I asked, I did ask for spicy although they did not make it spicy they did supply me with hot pepper and hot chilli oil and I made it spicy myself! Will order again

Fantastic! Yummy Healthy Flavorful! We sat outside and enjoyed the Spring air before the sunset. This tiny restaurant has indoor seating too, but it was nice to sit outside. Food came quickly! My husband ordered the Chicken pan nang (curry) . It's very mild but he asked for the spice condiments and it was perfect for him!

    Duck noodle soup-5stars

I live in Silicon Valley area of SF Bay Area. We have tons of Thai restaurants but it is virtually impossible to find a good bowl of duck noodle soup unless you drive into San Francisco. Thus I was pleasantly floored by this unassuming place just across the street from Days Inn Wyndham. The flavor of the soup base to their boneless duck noodle soup was absolutely authentic. The whole bowl was simply perfect. The next day, I came back to try their Four Brothers dry noodle and loved that too. The gentleman at the front was super friendly as well. Only wish I had more days in DC.

To stay…read moreby the side of our elderly dog, we are foregoing the experience of dining out, more and more. After we finished eating, she remarked we needed to visit the restaurant sometime. We'll have to look for an opportunity when we are around the dog all day, so she can be on her own for a couple of hours, likely sleeping. Birdsong already is acclaimed. This is much more Thai and Thai American. Like Chinese or Italian cuisine before it, Thai flavors have assimilated to a palate not accustomed to the true strength of the spices. Birdsong is a remedy. They do not offer the pad thai that has become a staple, no longer exotic but to its detriment. (A digression. The history of pad thai, with contested origins, is fascinating. As you delve into these matters, you see how syncretic culture is. You also are exposed to the efforts to fashion a unifying mythology.) We ordered the chicken, the shrimp, the crab fried rice, the papaya salad, and the enhancement. The chicken and the shrimp were quality ingredients, prepared well. Although both proteins were fried, they felt clean. The crab fried rice was one option of many with the rice base. The papaya salad was fresh. The enhancement was radish with "fermented daikon, garlic, red onion, cilantro, palm sugar, and fish sauce scrambled with eggs for a balanced savory and sweet flavor," and the portion was generous: we put it on the rice, then I finished it off in an omelet the next morning. We have traveled to Bangkok. Thai spiciness exceeds what I would endorse, and I love hot dishes. Birdsong was much milder, though with sufficient pepperiness my wife, who does not share my preferences, remarked it was closer to her limit. They will work with you in this respect, and I'm confident I could request something that would test my capabilities. That is, in my book, all positive. The dishes that were mild according to the menu, were mild, but they were flavorful. If you do not like fish sauce, for example, you may not appreciate the offerings, which if they don't have fish sauce have something along those lines. I hope Birdsong fares well.

If you came to Birdsong craving Thai food let it be known that you will be severely disappointed as calling this Thai food is a direct affront to the dignity of the people of Thailand. A certain expectation and fulfillment of spice and delicious flavor are usually achieved upon dining at a Thai restaurant. Birdsong did not deliver on either of these fronts. We had the Basil Rice bowl which was recommended and according to the menu was one of the spicier entrees. A few bites in and the spice wasn't even registering. Let's us take a moment to reflect on the gravity of that statement- while eating at a Thai restaurant, a food genre beloved for its spice, one of the alleged spicier entrees didn't even register a single degree of heat. The ground pork that came over the white rice was dry and the dish was devoid of any sauce so therefore actual flavor for that matter. In practice this meant that 70% of the dish was just white fluffy rice without any sauce or seasoning. I could carry on about the abject failure of the other courses, or how we had finished both the appetizers before the waiter brought my date's beer which she had ordered upon arrival, but I will leave it here. So $94 for two very small apps, two beers and the most flavorless Thai entree I've ever had. Someone needs to smack the chef in the face and remind him he's the chef at a Thai restaurant, not a retirement home. Pathetic

The staff are very friendly and attentive. There is Uyghur art of different types throughout the restaurant, which has two levels. I ordered two different samsas (beef and pumpkin) and korma with lamb. The pumpkin one tastes as good as it smells. What a yummy and comfort treat. The beef begins with a subtle flavor and then builds with every bite. I asked for medium heat on my korma (the noodle dish). It was delicious and spicy. We shared a bunch of different appetizers and entrees - the favorites were the goshnan, korma chop, and royal laghman. This is a great restaurant to share a bunch of dishes as they're definitely designed to share. They have varying levels of spice and we opted for medium for everything. Noodles are clearly made in house and super chewy and delicious. We got the dolan cake for dessert and that was our favorite dish of the night so definitely save room for dessert! Definitely a 4/4.5 star place. I really wish the menus were on paper - you have to scan a QR code to look at everything which isn't my favorite. Also a random 3% fee was added to our bill (which I don't see disclosed on the online menu). Overall I'd go back for the food/takeout especially with a larger group!
