We're looking for different food in Montana and got this place while walking in downtown Kalispell. Quaint, place to dine in and family friendly. The service was great, quick and as stated the spice levels were appropriate. It also worked well because we have a group of vegetarians and non vegetarians dining out and they had a nice vegan menu. This place is authentic and yummy. I always get Panang curry and this was one of the best. My husband got Pad kee mao. Both were good serving sizes and very delicious. We found medium spicy to be perfect (and we aren't afraid of spice). The wait staff were very kind. Service was a little slow but I think that's normal for Thai restaurants in general. Great Thai Food! The people who left one star are probably unlucky or the type of people who (coincidentally) have one star experiences at every restaurant. We frequent this restaurant almost weekly and it has never disappointed. Friendly, fast service and delicious food! I always judge a Thai food restaurant based on its pad Thai, and it's really good here! Spice 3 of 5 is spicy enough to still enjoy the food. Tourist trap -- even the rice was bad There is no love in this food. It is overpriced, lacks flavor, and the meat is very low quality. However, my dogs quite enjoyed the bits of meat scraps I gave them after sucking the not so flavorful liquid off bits of meat in my red curry. Ordered three entrees and 2 apps to go. I was shocked by the prices and then shocked by the low quality and portions of the food. There is no love put into these dishes. The meat was low quality while noodles and sauce where bland and tasteless. The crab rangoons had a very fishy smell and taste and where undercooked. First and last time here. Other reviews mention "tolerable" Thai food. This place must have changed owners since then as it's clearly not tolerable anymore. Should have known when Blue Samurai next door was packed and Thai Palace was empty at 6:30. Ordered duck and it was served with the spine as well as being overcooked. It was clearly cooked days before and reheated in a manner that resembled being placed in front of a space heater for too long. My 6 year old could have prepared duck better in her Easy Bake oven. Ordered plum wine (which was stale) for 4, but only two could try it as they only had two clean cups. Save your time and money and walk down the street to Taco John's. You'll be glad you didn't eat here. read more

I have eaten many Thai restaurants and this is not a place I would ever visit again. The atmosphere was dark and questionable especially looking into the kitchen. The fridge for their drink cooler was making a loud humming sound you could hear in the dinning room. I ordered the vegetable pad Thai with egg and something tasted very very off on my food; I only took two bites and that was enough for me to not eat anymore it was horrible. My friend order Yum Talay and she said the sea food was not fresh at all minus the shrimp in the dish and she was questioning eating it especially since not all the sea food was fresh. Both of us ordered sticky rice which was goopy and soggy. The only dish we ordered that was worth eating was the sum tum which was excellent compared to the rest of our food. All of the other food was questionable and quite horrible to eat especially for their prices. I would also like to mention the service there it started off good but once the restaurant got busier she only came to our table once which was to take our order and someone else delivered our food while she was wearing beats head phones not even talking to customers. There was also a little kid that kept popping in and out of there kitchen probably about 3 years old which made me question the sanitation of the facility. We never even got asked about how the food was or even a water refill and sat there for 30 minutes waiting for our server to finally come back and at that point we didn't even want to complain about our meals we just wanted to leave. This was an overall horrible horrible experience and despite the dingy atmosphere we were still willing to eat here especially since it seemed busy not a place I would recommend. read more

Food here is really good (outstanding actually IMHO. I crave it regularly). However, I'm so dissapointed that they have raised their prices AGAIN. Its way over-priced here for what they offer. For curries that should be at most $10, it costs 14.50. For 2 dinky spring rolls, 3.95. They're even skimpy on the rice (this isnt a big deal to me because I can eat curry like soup, but for someone who is really hungry, ask for extra rice.) Whenever I come here, there are very few customers. Its really quiet. Maybe everyone is getting take out, but I don't think so. They're probably having to raise their prices because no one comes here!! This means that their LOYAL customers are paying the extra price. If they lower their prices, more people will come in and they'll sell more, right? These are things I hear talked about in the community and they are reflected in their overall Yelp rating. So, why do I give Thai Palace 5 stars? Because their flavor profiles are delicious, Missoula doesn't even have Thai like this so the next best might be Spokane, and their local Americanized competition (Sriracha Thai Wok) is a joke. So to all the reviews I read that say "expensive" ~ today I ordered my favorite... the teriyaki chicken with veggies and white rice... hands down the best I've ever had in my life... huge portions of tender mouth watering chicken bathed in the most delicious teriyaki sauce ever, perfectly cooked vegetables for $14.99 ~ so how is that "expensive"?? Just want to get to the point here. It all compounded and turned us off pretty bad. Our food wasn't too bad. They forgot napkins, no big deal, then forgot silverware, ok fine. Gave my wife the wrong order, then a group of 6 came in, all had masks except one who had asthma which I believe is ok to serve under state covid guidelines, they refused service to them and they literally only had to wear a mask 10ft to be seated in this tiny shit hole. That was it for us. Didn't like how they treated those people and they screwed everything of ours up. Go literally anywhere else, even the slummy bars down the way would be better. Delicious, fresh food! My friend is a vegetarian and I have dietary restrictions, and typically Thai food isn't a good idea for either of us. However, this restaurant is GREAT in understanding dietary limitations and asking questions to ensure that the food they prepare is good for their customers. We were very impressed with the food. We started the meal with tom kha. It had a decent flavor but waaaay too salty for our table's taste. We also tried the eggplant stir fry with beef and green curry with tofu. The eggplant was the best dish if the three things we tried. Green curry was okay, super runny and seemed to lack coconut milk. $14 for a curry dish??? Wow... service was friendly yet marginal when it came to speed and quality. I got one cup of water the whole time I was there. I ordered the red curry due to the lack of a yellow curry selection. I guess I could have opted for the $18 lobster yellow curry, but I felt I was going out on a limb with the $14 already (that was the cheapest thing I could find on the menu). The curry dish was a little too "soupy" for my liking and they gave me "A" scoop of rice, which I gobbled up quickly. Soon I found I was ready for more rice, upon asking how much another scoop would set me back the waitress responded "two fifty"... (are you effing kidding me?) I quickly declined her offer to bring me out another scoop, finished off what was left of my first scoop, paid my bill and was on my way. Oh as I was standing up to leave she refilled my water. Nice. Almost felt worse about paying $14 for marginal curry than I did having to part with one more dollar for a tip. I was excited when I first saw this place, sad to say I probably won't be back. One other thing I heard multiple times while I was in there, was the waitress telling people that their food would probably take about 20 minutes because of all of the people that were in there, every time I heard this I had to chuckle. Ridiculous prices, not even the real fancy Thai places in America charge as much as they do, I can't believe they're still in business. We walked in at 7pm on a Friday and the place was completely empty. I understand why the people from Kalispell won't eat here. This place gets its business from tourists that really want to eat Thai food and come here for the first time. The portions were very small and didn't taste authentic (we eat a lot of Thai food). Service was terrible, had to track the waiter down a couple times. They put the check on our table before we were done eating, didn't ask if we wanted to have dessert or anything else. $100 with 4 people and didn't have anything special. What a disappointment. Living in the Thai part of town in LA I shouldn't of had high hopes but man no comparison!...thankfully we only got a few things because we were unsure considering it's in Montana. We got the tofu app with peanut sauce. The peanut sauce looked like a cup of oil with crushed up peanuts in it instead of being a creamy blend like they show on their pictures. The Pad Thai was meh, nothing to write home about. I'd say if you've never had Thai food & are willing to pay more than you should then by all means try it out. read more

My wife and I have been eating here every now and then since moving to Kalispell. It's hard to go out and eat Thai food when we eat it 3 to 4 times a week at home, but when we do go out to eat Thai food we usually go to the Thai Palace. Some of the best Thai food in the Valley, served outside of my house of course. The owners are wonderful people who come out to talk to us each time we visit the restaurant, and many times they will bring out some goodies from Thailand to give to our children. You don't always find this kind of personal connection with business owners. I give Thai palace 5 stars for the food quality, flavors and service. The prices are a little high, but you have to consider they have to bring everything in for their business. They aren't able to run down to the local grocery store to find Thai basil, lime leaves and lemon grass. Most everything they use has to be shipped into the area. I think that attention to detail is worth a little higher prices. read more

This place is amazing! I went here on Monday, May 6th, and I loved it. The atmosphere has good vibes and is comforting. Our server, Eleanor, was very attentive and kind. She is very good at her job. She checked on us often and always kept our water glasses full. The food is delicious and comes in large portions. Mine was a tad too spicy for me but that's my fault since I picked a spice level that was too much for me. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and I will be coming back! read more
