When I brought Jan and Pt up here from La to fix electronics who knew they would teach me how to cook great Thai food and open up a restaurant. I can vouch for the authenticity of this wonderful made with care from two of the nicest people you could ever meet. Before 911 I use to bring fresh produce down from Calgary for them from China town they have long since found new sources for hard to find fresh Thai produce here in Montana. Good Green Papayas are not found anywhere near Montana !! LOL The Sum Tum is fantastic and the Tum Yum has become a personal favorite. We ordered the fried rice and pad Thai, the portion is nice. However the Sriracha I asked for was expired on 2015, I tasted and mixed with my fried rice before I recognized that's such a wired taste. The waiter gave me a new half one after I reported to him. But overall experience was just okay and kind of disappointed, I hope they will never make that big mistake again. read more

I have given this place a few chances, but I think I am finally done unless things change. When I moved here a couple years ago, the first time I got their food, it was decent. The next couple times I was disappointed in my Pad Kee Mao, but my husband's Pad Thai was alright. Whatever we got last night, I wouldn't even call Thai food. The Pad Thai tasted like some noodles with a bit of garlic flavor, and the Pad Kee Mao was unrecognizable. They are only getting two stars because the food was at least edible, and the spice level we asked for was right. I have lived in LA and Portland and eaten Thai food all over the country. Pad Kee Mao is my go to dish. Sometimes it is served over lettuce, sometimes with big chunks of tomato, sometimes with ground meat. There is even a place in Portland that makes it with green beans. But there is always a certain flavor profile, and that was completely lacking. It honestly barely had any flavor at all. Maybe other things are better than their noodle dishes, but I am skeptical. I get desperate because there isn't much choice in food around here, but this place is not worth it right now, especially considering the expensive prices. I truly hope they take some of these reviews to heart and get some lessons in how to make real Thai food. I would be a regular customer if the food gets better. read more

When I am away from San Diego, I miss the occassional fix of Thai food. I have eaten at Thai Palace several times on my way to Glacier National Park and always find the food fresh, nicely prepared, at a reasonable price. read more

I have spent 2 months in Thailand eating authentic food the whole time. This is pretty close. Some food was a little dry, but the flavors were all good. The nice quiet atmosphere might be broken with the owner's (I think) small children running around and yelling at times. Felt more like I was intruding in their family's home at dinner time. As most others would say, the prices are the only thing keeping this from becoming a popular place. I wish they would realize that packing the tables on the weekends and most nights would be better for their business than raising the prices and having it be nearly empty most evenings (especially during the non-tourist season). You'll get more repeats. Have lived in the valley for 7 years and only gone here twice....and it is NOT for the price or value of the food or environment. read more

It is always nice to find some Thai food in out of the way places. I gave them a try and agree with some of the other reviews about the price, a bit excessive, compared to other Thai places, even in larger urban areas. I tried the Bangkok fried rice and it was very tasty and spiced just exactly as I ordered it. However, the amount of food in the dish was less satisfactory. I left there still hungry.The service was great though, but because of price and the amount of food served I think I will not be eating there my next trip through. read more

Staff is friendly enough. Good atmosphere in main dining room. If you choose to sit in the back, prepare to feel like you are eating in a cafeteria with blaring fluorescent lights. WAY overpriced for the portion size. Have a drink before hand because even the beer is $6 a bottle. The overall quality and flavor was o.k. Did I mention it is overpriced? Way too expensive for what they are doing, they have been employing lots of great young men & women of the Flathead Valley area for years, hardly paying them anything, never giving them any thanks, letting their kids work half as hard and paying them more money, this place just sucks. Just because it's Kalispell and there is not a wide range of diverse ethnic food they take advantage of the valley in more ways than one. The Thai Palace should be called The Worst Overpriced sprinkle-bean barn. The people that think it's awesome are fake Darrell's themselves. If you want thai food in the valley go home and make it yourself...at least then you will know there isn't puke & blood in your food. Decent Thai food for the area (normally I'd probably give this place a 2, but the options in this part of Montana are limited). The Tom Yum soup was pretty good and seemed pretty fresh. However, the green curry was weird and like nothing we'd ever experienced before. It was a broth, watery consistency and skimpy on veggies and protein. Normally, curry is thick and filing - this left us hungry and wondering were the coconut milk went. The rice paper spring rolls were simple but OK and came with a nice peanut sauce. I used to love Thai palace but the last few years it's gone downhill. I think it's too expensive for what it is now. The last time I was in I had pad Thai and it didn't taste like all the sauce ratios were right. The restaurant ambiance seems dark and dated. Good service though! read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I have seen some very great reviews of this restaurant and am sad that I did not have that same amazing experience. Understaffed-took awhile to get water and such going (Throughout the entire meal we did not get our water refilled, not once). We asked for lime slices for our water in which we got but in a disturbing way. Our server put the lime slices in his hands and handed them to us. I couldn't have been more disgusted in all honesty. The food was mixed up amongst our table (I.e. The level of spiciness for each person was wrong) There were so many other things that led up to this but overall I had a pretty horrible experience here. read more

This was the first time we ate here. We live about 100 miles away and do our shopping in Kalispell or Missoula. We stopped at Thai Palace before, but it was always closed. We were pleasantly surprised that they were open and even more pleased with the fantastic food we had for lunch. While I agree that it's way overpriced, I disagree with the reviews of the food. We had Larb, Pad Thai & Panang Curry. All three dishes were delicious. The flavors were perfect, the heat was just right and the Singha was ice cold. It takes a while, but the food items are individually prepared for each order. So much better than the places that make it all ahead and leave it sitting there. We will be back for sure and hope for the same results! read more

I read the previous reviews and thought I would give it a try. Yes, it is a bit on the expensive side (compared to equal restaurants in other cities in the U.S.) but the food is fine. The serving dishes are boats, which was interesting to look at and eat from but if I go back I will ask for plates as it makes sharing easier. Hope to eat there again before leaving town. read more

Freshly prepared and delicious. It ain't cheap, but in comparison to the cheap, crappy, borderline inedible options on the other side of the mountains to the east (in Not So Great Falls), this is paradise. I also was surprised to order a glass of wine midday that appeared to be from a fresh bottle. The food is good (not equal to Thai food in Seattle but good for this area.) That being said, the portions are quite small and significantly overpriced. Also, I got carryout and when I got home was amazed at how little rice comes with the entrees. There's nowhere near enough rice - there's maybe 1/4 the amount of rice needed (and what's normally served in several other states where I've lived). Thai palace is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and want Thai food, but I can't say I recommend more than 2 visits (in order to try several of their dishes.) read more
