We really love the food here and the corn fritters. The sauces are great and they make it perfectly every time.

My boyfriend and I eat here at least 3 times a month. The food is never disappointing and we have tried almost everything on the menu ! The staff is also very humble and attentive. Not a bad place. But I wasn't blown away by the food, service, or decor. I came around 6-7pm, the weekend crowd wasn't really in yet. There were a few other people ordering takeout. I ordered Green Curry, which was pretty good but a little bit overpriced - I've seen other places a few bucks cheaper for the same meal. The rice was a bit odd - it was packaged in a saran wrapped "rectangle" shape and was almost hard-packed/a bit dried out like it was frozen? And there was a thick 3mm film of oil on top of the curry that was a little off-putting. You should know that dinner portions are *required* during evening hours and weekends. I never like when menu items are restricted that way, but it's not the first place I've seen that does that. read more

I was craving some Thai food and just randomly found this place. Food was very authentic and server was very nice. I had Tom yum soup, bayside basil catfish and sticky rice with mango. All of their food that I tired was great!! Tom yum soup was a bit sweeter than other Tom yum soup that I had before, but it was very flavorful. Bayside basil catfish was seasonal I think or I know that it is not on the menu (you can find them on the wall). Also it was a bit salty for me to eat it by itself, but perfect with rice. Last but not least, sticky rice with mango. I personally do not like any sweets with rice, but it was so good! Mango was so sweet and with coconut milk?? It was like heaven!! read more

The staff was friendly. For $55 I received 2 rice dishes - shrimp & chicken fried rice and spicy basil fried rice with chicken, Panang Curry (chicken), shrimp appetizer, and a seafood clay pot. Pretty good value. Unfortunately, there were exactly 4 shrimp in the fried shrimp dish. The clay pot dish had slightly burnt onions. Despite the restaurant being completely empty I had to wait more than 10 min to pick up my Togo order with no offer of water from the four servers standing around. He actually went to so far as to slip her a note after the check saying " she was cute and to call him". The fact they would employ such a person and disrespect us in that way blew my mind. Lots of favorable yelps led me to Thai Pan. First off, fairly heady incense aroma when you enter the door. Smelled like someone was burning a hippie or something. I was really hungry so I ordered corn patties, Tom yoom gai soup, side cucumber salad and pad kee mow. On the expense report tonight so I'm going for it. (All that for around $20). Tom yoom soup may be the best I've ever had. Very aromatic and full of flavor and chock full of chicken and button mushrooms. Corn patties were great and crunchy good. The side cucumber salad was only $1 and helped cut some of the heat. The pad kee mow was good but not great. Someone in the kitchen got a bit too happy with the onions and almost overpowered the dish. I just picked a few out and plowed on. Service was very prompt and attentive. I had my corn patties and soup within just a few minutes of ordering. I really like Thai Pan and took a little of it home with me. read more

I've been coming here off and on for several years. I apologize for not posting pictures. This review was an afterthought and quite frankly I was so busy enjoying my dishes that taking photos was the last thing on my mind. The food here is absolutely delicious and the service is wonderful. The restaurant is very simple inside, but classy. We enjoyed a Fried Catfish w/red curry and sticky rice. Holy moly. Dude. You must try this. It was delicious! This restaurant is out of our way, but I will make it a point to drive here more often. Bring your family and friends. Spicy Basil Fried Rice is too greasy. The rice is also too moist when used to fry. Probably need more basil flavor. The pad yellow noodle has curry flavor but it is too salty and greasy. The sticky rice and custard is good. I should have read other comments that food is greasy. Very disappointed with the fried rice. If it is not because of very good service, I would give 1 star on the food. read more

Visited this restaurant for the first time today and will definitely be back. I got an order of chicken Pad Thai, an order of pork Pad Thai and an order of corn patties. I got the medium hot sauce on both Pad Thai's and may try the medium next time. The corn patties were incredible. Service was very quick and friendly but I was there in the middle of the afternoon so they weren't busy. This was my first of many visits. Staff was wearing a mask and a face shield. read more

Authentic, delicious food!! Jay is amazing at taking care of the tables efficiently and with care. Food comes out piping hot and tasty!!! We discovered it one day on a whim as we were near by and fell in love with the food and service. We went back a week later for our daughters birthday. She loves satay and fried rice! Jay brought her a special dessert and we were all happy!!! Our favorites so far: coconut soup (Tom kha) cashew shrimp, green curry with chicken, and some Korean beef strips. Yum oh!! read more

First time eating dinner here, actually did an Order To Go. Was so gooood! I got the Pad Woon sen with shrimp, it was so delicious! And, they gave me plenty of shrimp in there, too! Ordered some pad kee now chicken and the pasta was all stuck together and way too mushy. The lemongrass stir fry was full of oil. I called back didn't even get offered a refund if I took order back. I don't know why this restaurant has such good reviews. We have tried it twice and both times the food was best described as Meh! Last time we got a large togo order for a groups of friends at home - usual stuff like Pad Kee Mao, Basil fried rice and red curry - all standard Thai fare. We live less than 10 minutes from this place. The pad kee mao was the most disappointing and disgusting where it was just a tasteless blob of noodles with minimal veggies and flavorless pieces of chicken. The rice was also underwhelming...too dry and barely any taste. The red curry was slightly better but too watery. All this after we asked for spice level 3/4! The owner lady was kinda rude when we asked for the "real" Thai hot sauce of fish sauce and chili (instead of the siracha crap). There are much better Thai places in Plano or Frisco to waste your time and money at this place. Never going here again read more

Their Pad Thai and Tom Kha are the best around, they're very accommodating (particularly with adding extra spice when wanted), and the staff is the sweetest and would always remember me when I came back in town. I went on a late night and was the only customer, which was a little sad. This is a pretty good Thai place trapped in a bit of an out-of-the-way strip mall. I got the "blooms" appetizer which was not quite what I expected, so only so-so. However, the red curry (my weakness) was fairly good, if a little pale and a little less hot than I like (forgot about the "whiteboy" spice adjust that night). I was pleased to see that the rice was very fresh, however, despite my late night dining and lack of other customers. My favorite in Allen, being from the NW I am a bit spoiled in the Asian food department, but this place is great. The portion sizes are perfect for my husband and I, and the prices are very reasonable. The Tom Kha Gai soup is delicious, as well as Nuer Tod. The fam & I ordered about a billion entrees to share, and every single one was solid and the portions were large. The Tom Yum Goong soup was delicious, but it was a little bit too much on the sweet side since we asked for it to be mild - typically, this soup is a great mix of sweet and spicy, so ask for it to be a little spicy! The Green Curry was delish! You know how whenever you order curry at a Thai restaurant, it comes with a lot of sauce but very few ingredients? This curry was FILLED with meat and veggies. The Cashew Delight, Pad Thai, Lard Na, Pad See Ewe, and the Hawaiian Fried Rice were all delicious as well. Thai Pan is my favorite Thai Restaurant in Allen, which surprisingly has quite a few. It is absolutely in a horrible location for people to just drop in, which might be bad for their overall business, but it is wonderful for people in the know. There is rarely ever a crowd in there, and the service is great. I have been to Thailand a couple times, so I normally go in asking for my curry hot and spicy, to which I get the "Are you sure" several times when I ask for 5 star spicy. I normally respond by saying, "Yes, you are right... make it 6 star". The cooks have tried their best to smoke me out by adding fresh Thai chilies to the pot, but my asbestos tongue has topped them each time. Their Pad Kee Mow is also really great, but I leave that for others as it is not spicy enough to waste space in my stomach on! The other important thing to recognize about Thai Pan is what a great value it is. Compared to other Thai places close by, this location offers a good amount of food for much less than others. read more

Decided to try a new Thai place close to the apartment, and Thai Pan came up on the search. Today we ordered two dishes to-go along w/ a dessert. Chu Che Pla - Deep fried catfish fillet sautéed with red chili paste, kaffir lime leaves, and coconut milk. This is one rich, delicious, simple yet complex dish. The deep fried catfish filet has crispy edges along with the tender flesh topped with the creamy coconut/red curry sauce. I found myself spooning the sauce over each bite of rice. Pad Prio Wan - Original Thai sweet & sour stir-fried with pineapple, cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, bell pepper, yellow onion, and house special sauce. This was a sweet dish with lots of sauce. Good solid dish, but I really enjoyed our fish dish much, much more. Fried Bananas - For $3 an order, this is a great value. I think there were at least 2-3 bananas worth. I wished there was some kinda of sauce drizzled on there, but perhaps they do if you order it dine-in. I'll be coming back for more, the next time we crave Thai. read more

since thai is my fave food, i am extremely picky about thai food and very critical. with that said, this place is in my neighborhood and i've tried it several times. sometimes it's good; sometimes it's just mediocre. i will give them credit for balancing the level of spiciness that you ask for your dishes. if you order it not spicy, it won't be. if you ask for a higher level, it will be just what you asked for. pad thai is one of my fave dishes in general, but i have yet to have a good experience with pad thai at this place. the noodles tend to be cooked more than i am used to. almost to the point of being mushy. the fried rice is decent. i've had better, but in the north dallas area, this place is probably the best i've had as far as thai fried rice goes. i give them 5 stars on their soups. i am never disappointed with their soups and they remain consistent with their goodness. the customer service is EXCELLENT and the place is BYOB read more

Thai Pan is hidden in a quiet shopping center - it's easy for the Capital One Bank to overshadow its location. However, after today's experience - I'll never overlook it again! A group of friends and I went here to celebrate a birthday. I got the Hawaiian Fried Rice (I know, I know - this doesn't sound like the most authentic Thai dish, but the flavors were spot on!) because I was attracted to a mix of pineapple, raisins and cashews in a dish. All these different textures mixed with Thai seasoning was wonderful, in my opinion. The heaping portion was well worth the price I paid, too! My friends got the Curry Fried Rice and the Pad Kee Mow and the tastes I had of each were great too! Aside from the great food and the generous portions, I'd like to spotlight the exceptional service. If you've read my other reviews, I am big on pointing out how the service of an establishment is, and many restaurants could take a lesson from Thai Pan! Our waitress was extremely polite and gave us the right amount of attention - she took wonderful care of us. We had mentioned our friend's birthday and, without us asking, she brought out a container of delectable fish crackers to give my friend as we were leaving to wish her a happy birthday. We just tried this place the other night for the first time, and it was good. Not good enough for us to forget about Samui, but still good. The eggrolls were better than average, and the chichen satay skewers were tasty, but the Pad Sey Yew was sub-par. Over all good, I'll be trying more from them in the future. read more

We went there few weeks ago and had the worst ever experience in the last 10 years! To start with they saw we came with kids, and gave us seating close to their billing counter that had phone. Even though our kids weren't that loud, they seemed upset that our kids were noisy. We asked for extra helping of rice crispy volunteering to pay for it but they didn't bring any. Both waitresses seemed distracted while taking orders and When we tried to explain the order they brushed us off without hearing us. When one of their waitresses shushed our kid, we got up, paid the bill and walked out! While paying bill also they were rude. In our 10 experience of dining in the metroplex this restaurant staff seemed to be the worst! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I probably order from here at least once a week... so much that the waitress recognizes our voice when we call. I can honestly say this is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. I have many favorite dishes here (even some dishes that, before this place, I'd never tried), but I have to say that my absolute top dishes are the pad kee mow, tom kha gai, and the red curry. Each dish is packed full of flavor and tender, fresh vegetables. I also like that they have true spice ratings, ie if you order a #4 spicy, prepare to start sweating as you eat. The wait staff is attentive and very friendly, and more than once the owner has come out to say hi to us. I feel like they really try to get to know their customers. While the food here was good, the waitress service was a bit questionable. As I was writing in tip, I noticed my total seemed a bit higher than what I remembered. I went to the counter to ask waitress about this and she told me she included a tip of 15%. Most restaurant only do this with a party over 6-8 people. Considering it was just my family of 3, I was a little disturbed by this. Plus, she charged my credit for a different total than what was originally shown. My intentions were to leave her 18-20% but, since she took matters into her own hands without disclosing the details before charging my card, she lost extra $$ & a customer. read more
