When plans elsewhere fell through, I wanted to try them as a backup plan- ambience, as always, was cozy & vibrant. The waitstaff was prompt, well-versed in the menu as well as the specials & definitely got me hooked on their homemade ginger ale lol, which had a nice kick without being too potent- just what the doctor ordered. The coconut chicken soup was molten, but elegant & delicious! It was naturally super sweet with a little salt aftertaste & the mushrooms floating around with the big chunks of chicken were a pleasant surprise. I certainly wasn't expecting the random stalk of lemongrass lol but it was certainly a familiar flavor I enjoyed (for a well-earned $8). Then there was the satay sampler- which I got with the chicken in peanut sauce, the tofu in sweet soy, & the vegetable medley also in peanut sauce (for $10). The chicken was seasoned well, perfectly cooked, as well as the vegetables. The peanut sauce was nice & spicy- & I loved the extra peanut crunch! The tofu had a nice crisp sear without getting too charred- & the sweet soy sauce was almost syrupy on top. I appreciated how everything came with a little cucumber salad & mound of rice. And to finish it all off, I also got their lime ice cream ^_^ It was a wonderful palette cleanser that helped soothe the tongue after the peanut sauce's heat! Only thing not so nice about it was finding the $8 tag after I had placed the order... Ah well, overall, it was a great experience, bringing the grand total- plus tax & tip, to a little over $36- not a great price, but well worth it! read more

Came here based on a recommendation from a friend. The food was OK, but nothing too exciting. I ordered the spicy lemongrass soup with shrimp and while the shrimp were cooked nicely, it did not have much flavor and certainly had no spice. The short ribs were very thin cut, flavorful, but a little over cooked (so tough) and the portion was small for the price. My friend was equally underwhelmed by her satay dish which was again not that flavorful and over sauced. Dog owners should note that the main patio seating is no longer dog friendly. Just the two tables on the street. There are lots of amazing restaurants in Ashland, I will seek out other venues in the future. read more

We LOVE this place. The staff is friendly, the service is always on point and the drinks are so yummy! (Especially when Zach is behind the bar!) The Spicy Lemongrass soup is my favorite but we always love the Yellow Curry and the Thai Fried rice as well. I have been here A LOT and never had a bad experience. My Goodness! We dined there on July 13th 2018 .Was there a Thai cook there? I think not ! Over-priced.One of the entrees barely would feed one.The other a noddle dish fried in oil, in fact we sent it back! Should have been a clue that it was the chefs night off! Worst meal ever. I ordered seafood curry, husband ordered the lamb chops (both were specials that night) sister ordered shrimp pad Thai .The lamb was the best. A little skimpy on the seafood that was in the curry and the curry was a little watery.The pad Thai was good, but a funny thing was, I don't know how many times I heard the staff say their pad Thai is different from any other place because they don't put ketchup in it. Huh? Who in the world would ever put ketchup on pad Thai? I also ordered the Thai steak salad as an app for myself but they brought 2 big spoons so I had to end up sharing it . I asked the waitress if it would be on field greens and she looked at me like I was speaking Swahili and did not know what field greens were . Wow, we are here last night at the bar and Zach our excellent mixologist took special care of us. The food is amazing! The sirachhi lime wings were so moist with the perfect amount of heat. The drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp were fabulous lots of chicken and oh so yummy. The place was packed with lots of local diners. Always a good sign. We will be back! Not typical "thai" food, and a little pricey, but the food is good and the creekside dining is beautiful. There are discounted appetizers during cocktail hour if you eat at the bar. The upstairs bar will be expanded soon, I'm looking forward to seeing the renovations. read more

I had the cashew vegetables. They were barely cooked and I had to send them back - something I hardly ever do. My wife had the Pad Thai. Very average at best. Not much egg and all in all pretty uninspired. The waitress was pleasant and helpful, which is why I gave the place two stars instead of one, but after all the food is what you go to a restaurant for. This place has been in Ashland forever, and is considered a local fav. The last time I was there I got the rack of lamb and chocolate cake for dessert. Take a look. It was an exquisite as it looks. We showed up about an hour and a half before our 8pm play and were told that there was no more seating available in the downstairs dining room. We chose to eat in the bar, but we had to put in our order right away in order to guarantee that we could be out in time for the play. It was nice that the staff gave us that warning, but it seemed pretty unreasonable that the food should take that long. We had the pineapple and shrimp fried rice and the chicken in roasted red curry. As they predicted, the food took quite a long time to arrive, and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The chicken dish was the better of the two -- the peanuts give it a nice flavor, and it isn't a standard dish that you can find in any Thai restaurant. The fried rice was just ordinary, and for $17, I expect more. If they could bring the dishes out faster and lower prices by about $5 per dish, I would change my rating to 4 stars. But as it is, QPR isn't great, and that makes the whole experience just okay. read more

We got lucky and came during happy hour (5-6pm everyday) otherwise it would have been pretty pricey. Your average curry dish is about 18$ but during happy hour they have panang curry for 9$. We also tried the curry wontons, which were ok, and the truffle fries. read more

Great location, with creekside patio. Beautiful ambiance. Calamari had a lot of breading, and I found the sweet and sour sauce with it too spicy (but was tasty). Had the fish special, serviced with green beans, peppers, and a sauce with coconut milk in it... Very good!! Thai iced tea was excellent. We arrived at opening time on a Monday at 5 pm, and the place was empty. The patio outside was almost filled by the time we left. Popular spot, even on a Monday night. Close to a five star rating, but the menu selection was a bit weaker than other Thai places I've been to... And didn't love the calamari. Focusing on the last of these: I ordered the very original variation on pad Thai, which here features a very spicy and unique sauce (the sauce is rated from 1-4, and level 1 is quite fiery already!!), and ground chicken breast. The sauce and preparation left the dish somewhat overly salty, but otherwise very tasty, and the noodle selection was very tasty. An ample variety of ingredients, and accompanied by white jasmine rice, made this a solid 3.5. The meal was then elevated by a delicious flourless chocolate torte, which was delicious. Seating is elegantly casual, though I opted to take my meal home, and was surprised that I had to wait more than half an hour for the food. read more

I'd say this is a solid "3 star". The food was good. Atmosphere very nice as well as the staff. It was apparent they need more in the way of staffing though. Thai Pepper is a bizarre example of Asian Fusion catering to white people gone wrong. I was not expecting bland Phad Thai made with spaghetti noodles. I was not expecting an entire battalion of water girls, yet extremely slow service from the wait staff. It's unreasonable to expect Seattle/ Portland / southern CA quality Thai in the valley, but neither I nor my meal partner were sure what the management and/or chef had cooked up. Would not recommend, would not have gone back but for a get together in the bar area a few years later. Thai Pepper, across the street from Shakespeare, is designed for tourists, happy to take their money once, never to return, while offering nothing for the culinary / dining scene in the valley. Erwan, Vim Thai, and Thai Garden in CP are far better Thai restaurants in the valley. 0 stars for the food, 2 stars for the bar. read more

We four were seated in the middle of the room, right next to the host station. We were ignored for 15 minutes.
