I had a Groupon for this restaurant. Groupon is a good way to try out a new place. However, the two take-out dishes we ordered were horrible. The yellow curry was sooooo sweet. It tasted like the cook dumped a cup of sugar in it. The panang was super salty. I can eat food that's on the salty side but this was disgustingly salty. We ended up throwing both away. Where do I begin with this place. I used to order from this place all the time because they were close to my house and they had decent food. I ordered their yellow curry which was good but I've ordered other things that were pretty mediocre. I placed an order with them tonight around 6:30 pm. I had no update around 8 pm. But I understood since it was a Friday night. I give the restaurant a call around 8:15 and they said it didn't print to the kitchen and they were sorry and they would make it and send the order when it's finished. I was super understanding and said it was no problem at all. Around 8:30 pm. I got a notification from Yelp that the order was cancelled. Bewildered, I called the restaurant back and was greeted by who I think was the owner, an older man. He proceeded to curse me out and called me a bunch of super inappropriate names. He threatened to come by my house and beat me up. Honestly, I've never had an owner of a restaurant threaten me with violence and he said he knew where I lived and would come to my house. Over such a small misunderstanding too. Needless to say it's good for his health he didn't stop by my house and it's obvious that I will never come back here after being so loyal to them. The curry here beckons my name and always has me craving more. Seriously, get the curry. The Peruvian breaded chicken with green pasta is yummy, but the following Thai favorites keep me coming back: (1) Yellow curry (2) Green curry (3) Pad Thai The above 3 dishes are only $9.95 each and the portions are VERY GENEROUS. They give you a huge QUART of curry, but ratio to rice is 2:1, so you will likely end up with 1/2 of the curry still with no more rice. Leftovers taste just as great the next day when you bust out your rice cooker at home (or conveniently order extra rice to-go). The curry is especially rich, creamy, and decadent. It's chock full of veggies and meat. Yellow is mild, but go for green if you want a spicy kick. There are at least a dozen other curry varieties, but these first two are so tasty that I haven't tried any others yet. Be careful though, because the food here comes out hot and steaming! I've burned my tongue a few times because I couldn't wait! Ladies here are so friendly and welcoming. They dress in beautiful traditional Thai outfits, which lends an authentic feel to the environment. Both the service and food are consistently wonderful. Food might take a while when they're busy (like weekends and week nights), but it is worth the wait. Sometimes, I call my order ahead when I leave work, then just pick up curry to eat at home. To-go orders are packed securely and there is never any spillage. I happened to see a Groupon pop up for this restaurant (which I used today for lunch) but am happy to support this well-run local business even without coupons. Location is by the Roxy movie theater off Pleasant Valley Road/Verdugo, to the left of Jamba Juice. There are a few 20-minute parking slots directly out front. read more

The food was delicious, I thought that bringing the soup and the entree at the same time was a little too fast because once we finished the soup, the entree was cold. I just had my dinner here. My very first time. I'm not super familiar with Thai food so I asked the waitress a lot of questions and she was so very helpful. She took her time with me. I ended up with the vegetable spring rolls which are amazing. I love those. And then I had the combo cashew dinner. With a side of glass noodles. It was very good. A little sweeter than I liked but that was OK because I just put it on the noodles without the sauce so it was just what it was marinated not extra. And I put soy sauce and chili sauce on it and it was very good. Now I am actually going to have dessert that I can't even fit in my belly but I will try. Along with a cappuccino. It's too different than the norm. Service is good for the first hour. After that, it's non-existent. I ordered thai food for delivery with Grubhub a few days ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how fast my food had arrived (10 minutes prior to the ETA). The delivery driver was careful to follow protocol compliant with the quarantine situation.. My order was dropped off at my doorstep so I didn't have to worry about the unecessary person-person contact which I appreciate! I received a text from my driver which notified me that my food was dropped off too. As for the food, the Spicy Fried Rice with pork and spicy Pad Kee Mao with shrimp were exceptionally delicious! Where has this restaurant been all my life? if you are looking for amazing food and friendly staff this is the place to be! You will feel like a VIP when you walk in. They know how to treat their customers! My order was hot and ready to go when I got there. I ordered the Pineapple fried rice with shrimp, yellow curry with tri-tip, empanadas, and thai tea. Both the shrimp and tri-tip were cooked to perfection! Never heard of Pineapple fried rice. It was off the charts good! So glad I tried it! The combination of pineapple, cashews, onions, eggs, raisins, tomatoes, shrimp, and fried rice pair well. So good!! Would have never thought of it. The yellow curry has peas, carrots, and potatoes. OMG!! those potatoes were a nice surprise and so good!! I am an appetizer girl so I had to try the empanadas. It was an interesting filling yet again paired so well! It had meat, onions, carrots, olives, and egg with two sauces. A green sauce and what looks like pico de gallo but better. Everything was so flavorful! Last but not least the thai tea is refreshing. I am a tea/coffee snob. Don't usually like restaurant tea/coffee. I will defiantly be stopping in when I need my tea/coffee fix. This review is for the Peruvian food only since we haven't tried the Thai food yet... That being said, this is one of the best Peruvian places I've ever been. We had ceviche mixto, Aji de gallina and arroz chaufa and all were excellent. I wish they gave a little bit more of the ceviche. It was a lot of lettuce underneath but the flavor, freshness and spice of the ceviche was perfect. We will definitely be back. There's not much I can say about this place because I've only had the Mango Sticky Rice. So how or why am I writing a review on a restaurant having only tried a single dessert? Because it was that good! The mango is fresh, flavorful, and lies uncovered atop a beautiful mound of white sticky rice. The warm concoction of coconut milk (or whatever the sauce that sits on the side is) only adds to the experience as one has the option of drizzling the warm sauce atop the mango and rice, or dipping each bite into it. For even the light pouring of the sauce leaves one imagining hot wax falling atop a nude body. I bought two for my inamorata and I one special night, only to finish mine and half of hers. Since that night I've been craving, nay, yearning, for the sensual experience that is savoring Thai Peru mango sticky rice. Tonight I returned afraid that the second time would not be as satisfying as the first, after all it rarely is. My fear was foolish and unfounded, the experience was even more pleasurable. Each delectable bite sent a shockwave of euphoria throughout my body. How could it be that something so simple, is so, so, so mouthwatering delicious? Like my inamorata has ruined all others for me, so has Thai Peru's mango sticky rice ruined all other mango sticky rice desserts. There are many reasons why I like this restaurant. First let's start with the decor and ambience of the restaurant: very "Thai like" from the native dress of the staff to the tapestries that cover the walls. The booths are spacious and comfortable and dining in is quite an exotic experience. And the food! Very authentic and well prepared, the menu is extensive and portions are generous and pleasingly presented at table side. The staff is very pleasant and the manager Dominic is always a delight to chat with. The restaurant is now closed for indoor or outdoor seating due to Covid, but they have a prompt and reliable delivery service. I believe it's a free delivery within 5 miles. For myself I had the pineapple curry with shrimp. They were very generous with the shrimp; there were at least ten in my curry. Not sure where all the people that rated this place 5 stars ate. My date and I ate here before seeing a movie at the nearby theater. She is 1/2 Peruvian, so she wanted to give it a try. The Thai/Peruvian mix makes for an interesting menu. I'll give it that much. However, beyond that, the place leaves a lot to be desired. The food was, at best, "meh". I ordered a breaded chicken and pasta dish and she ordered the beef and veggies served over french fries (cannot recall the names). I cannot speak for her dish, but my dish was 2 small breasts of clearly previously frozen (that is, they buy the pieces in bulk and simply warm them up, rather than actually preparing them) chicken and also clearly pre-packaged pasta. The chicken was pretty tasteless and the pasta was pretty much pure salt. The high-school aged (maybe slightly older) girl that served us was helpful in that she answered our questions. However, it seemed that she was not at all happy to be there on a Friday night as she avoided us (and all her other tables) as much as possible and moped around frowning the whole time. Worst of all, the place is overpriced. I paid $50 for the two crappy dishes (no appetizers nor desserts), two soft-drinks and one glass of wine. 2 stars because no one was out right rude, but definitely would NOT eat there again. read more

Delicious food all hand prepared, big portions, and a ton on the menu. Really good sushi too! It's a family operation and the owners are very kind. I call in deliveries to my shop and they have been very clean and came in gloves, face mask, and even a face shield. Almost A hazmat suit lol call them directly for deliveries! My family and I ate here today for dinner and it was delicious. There were 4 of us and each ordered 1 dish, but the dishes were large enough that we could have ordered a total of 3 and shared, which was nice. We ordered Yellow Chicken Curry, Pad See Yew, Pineapple Curry, and Cashew Delight. My personal favorite was the Cashew Delight because the sauce paired really well with the chicken and the peppers. The pineapples in the Pineapple Curry were very sweet and juicy. The staff at this restaurant were also incredibly kind and welcoming and answered whatever questions we had about the menu items. Their yellow curry was delectable. Actually, all of their food is great.....the problem I have is with their menu itself. When you look at a menu that has photographs of practically all of their food on it, you want EVERYTHING on the menu, plus it's impossible to decide!
