I've driven by this place sooo many times but never had the chance to try till now! I stopped by during lunchtime and ordered a bowl with purple rice and spicy chicken. My total before tip/tax was $12.50, which is amazing for the quality and portion! Other than base + protein, the bowls also come with pickled veggies, kimchi, broccoli, and a side of their green (cilantro jalapeno) sauce. The wait was reasonable considering they were also finishing up a pretty large order when I came in. All of the flavors worked so well! I was particularly surprised with the green sauce-I've had it with so many other cuisines but never thought to pair it with Korean food. The bowl was filling while still feeling healthy and nutritious. I will say the spicy chicken really isn't spicy (the kimchi is much spicier by comparison), so I would love for spice levels to be ramped up a bit. The interior is cozy in a homey-older restaurant type of way. There's a good amount of seating but it seems like a lot of people order takeout. This is such a great little restaurant! I was not so sure about it since it sits in the Walmart parking lot with some interesting characters but I wanted to give it a try. I got the 2 protein plate with bulgogi and spicy chicken with the green sauce. It was so good!! The purple rice was fantastic and the meats were seasoned perfectly. I loved that there was pickled jalapeño, radish and onion, they added a great flavor. The woman who took my order was really sweet, I did not get her name, but she was patient and attentive. This place is linked within Seoul Bap, but as its own side thing thanks to their Korean American sisters, according to their website. I was craving some Korean fried chicken, so I checked out SEOULCIAL Chicken. It was my first time and I ordered the Honey Butter because it was promoted as a Korean popular flavor filled with sweet, savory and salty goodness. When I arrived to pick up my order, I asked for the other sauces on the side just so I could try a sample of them before ordering something different the next time I go. The lady who helped me was extremely nice and hospitable. She even told me to try their Sweet & Spicy chicken next time because it's her favorite! It made me more excited to try that particular sauce. The other sauce they have is the soy garlic, which is made organically in house. Their menu also offers japchae, kimchi, bulgogi, along with various choices of Korean desserts as well. The ambiance is bright and it's a small place, so it's big enough to be a chill spot and a grab and go at the same time. One of my favorite to-go places for Korean comfort food! As you step in, you're hit with a warm and cozy feeling like you're just at home. The sounds of the grill sizzling, groups of people talking and having a good time adds to the feeling of a miniature version of Seoul. All the basic dishes like Kimbap, Rice bowls, Tteokbokki, KFC (with different flavors to choose from!) and they all taste amazing. Only downside would be how expensive the dishes are, but what makes up for it are the workers being so kind and making sure that your food is perfect, and sure enough it never disappoints. read more

I think when they first opened I was hyper fixated with their Korean fried chicken bowl, my husband bought it for me 2x in one week lol I'm giving my rating and review based on the many times I have came and the consistency of service, taste, and overall experience. Hands down one of the best restaurants for fast Korean food. Their bowls here are hefty and super good. I'm super biased to say the KFC bowl is the best. Come at me, but I don't get anything else tbh. I have tried other bowls, proteins, specials but it's that bowl that has my heart. Their gimbap is also fire & they have Mexican Coke. So yeah. I will say that there were times where the flavor was not consistent. It happened twice or so, and I was curious if they had a new chef. Followers of mine and even people I know IRL may be surprised to hear that I've been going through a dry spell this summer, encountering a handful of idiots and difficult people with a side of other crap going on. That even included a recent visit to a nearby area that's made me quite apprehensive about returning, though such an act would have entailed completely missing out on this fine Korean eatery on the northeast corner of Del Amo and Avalon. And this Korean eatery is so fine that it seriously made me forget about all those idiots and difficult people I mentioned in the first paragraph, even if it meant missing out on their Seoul Juice. More on that later. Seoul Bap recently replaced Legend Hot Chicken, retaining the interior setup of the former occupant. I saw that Seoul Bap had a Yelp check-in offer of a KFC sampler*. Not Colonel Sanders KFC, but rather, Korean Fried Chicken as utilization of such fowl would almost be perceived as a foul in Korean cuisine. When I asked Aaron at the front counter, he said it'd be four pieces of their boneless fried chicken, which can come in one of two flavors: Sweet & Spicy or Soy Garlic. Tough choice, but I went with Sweet & Spicy. Of course, I'd be remiss to not order an entree alongside the complimentary KFC sampler, so I went with a dosirak even though I hadn't heard of the name before that day. It's like a Korean bento box, though their website says lunch box instead, and I'm hoping that doesn't mean it's only available during lunch hours because I'd love to eat it for dinner as well! Since I was already getting chicken, I didn't want to choose a chicken protein, so I went with a pork. I initially chose pork belly, but then decided to ask Aaron about spicy pork since the name was a little vague. After he described it, I realized it was similar to the beef bulgogi, but with pork instead, so I switched to the spicy pork. I also asked about their Seoul Juice, but they were unfortunately out of stock, as indicated on their website. That was a little disappointing because I wanted to get some for family visiting from out of state. I asked Aaron how long it would take for them to prepare my meal. I was expecting at least 10 minutes, but he said only about 7-8, which was spot on! I sat at a table by the left wall facing the TV in the far corner showing some KPOP music videos at a soft to moderate volume that would still allow for conversations at a normal voice level. During my wait, I noticed they had utensils at the front counter, which I forgot to pick up the first time, so I grabbed a couple. Turns out I didn't need to because when Aaron handed me my tray, there was already a fork and some chopsticks. Oops?! lol The Dosirak was great! Everything tasted fresh, and I was even given a cup of their signature green sauce and a cup of (soy?) sauce. For a lunch box of this size, I easily could have used a second cup of each, but I think there would have been an upcharge for that. The KFC sampler was presented on a small, circular, styrofoam tray, and I'm thinking it was the same KFC that was on my Dosirak, which may have disappointed me a little because then I would have chosen the Soy Garlic so as to get the best of both worlds. In addition to the KFC, I also got some banchan like japchae, pickled vegetables, broccoli, and a small salad that was very tightly packed. Japchae is a premium option for your base, and I almost went with that instead of purple rice. Glad I chose the purple rice to be underneath the spicy pork! Lastly, there were some fried dumplings (potstickers?) next to the spicy pork. A Dosirak is $6 more than a bowl, but you get so much more that I'd say it's worth trying at least once. However, it's twice as much as a bowl if you order between the hours of 3 and 5 PM on weekdays. As I was about to leave, I wanted to get a water cup at the cooler by the front counter. There was a sticker that said "Do not touch" so I almost thought it'd be motion-sensored. Aaron noticed I was struggling with the cooler and offered to help. Turns out I had to hit the small button in the back. Then why would it have said "Do not touch"?! lol but he did mention I wasn't alone in that regard. He also asked how I liked the food. I replied by saying something the King of Soul (not Seoul lol) might say: "Seoul good!" Aaron at the front was fantastic, answering my multiple questions about the menu. Except I'm not sure what he was doing by the long community table with a bunch of cups of (soy?) sauce lying there? And I'm not sure why they even had that many cups in the first place, but his work ethic impressed me, which I don't say a whole lot in an era where it seemed like good customer service would come at a premium. I was also given a stamp card where you can get your 10th bowl free! A plate or dosirak would count towards the 10, but I'm not sure if the 10th can be one of those two? TL;DR: Seoul food from Seoul Bap is Seoul good, especially for your Seoul! read more

Parking lot is fairly sized and there are a few other businesses at this shopping center. Pickup took a little time as they were closing, but they were very friendly. I got the spicy chicken bowl which comes with a generous portion of chicken, grain rice, kim chicken, pickled veggies, and broccoli. Also had some Jap chae. Tried this place for lunch today. Seoul Bap is in a plaza with small businesses and a Walmart Family Market. Parking was challenging AND the spots are pretty tight. Small area with benches right outside the front door. When asked about the spice level, I was told "it's not spicy, more sweet and warm." What the heck does "warm" mean? Made no sense. I ordered the #1 Beef Bulgogi Bowl. They were all out of purple rice. The Kim chi was too spicy for me and the onions were cut very big and almost tasted raw. I also had the dumplings. There was little to no wait, and as our group settled in, we could see how this restaurant has become a solid establishment for the locals. The food was amazing - authentic and well-balanced. Came in the afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. I was greeted by a very friendly cashier (I wish I caught his name right thank him) who waited patiently as I selected my food items. I picked 2 appetizers - the fries gyoza and the Korean fried chicken. Both were pretty good. I loved the sweet and savory stickiness of the chicken especially. I also ordered 2 bowls - the LA Style and the Bulgogi with purple rice. The bulgogi bowl was pretty tasty. I liked the purple rice especially. I do wish there was a better meat to rice ratio though. The LA style was ok. The short rib meat wasn't great in quality. The meat tasted a bit off which was disappointing.
