We came here on a Sunday evening at around 6 pm and were seated immediately. The restaurant is very clean, and the ambiance is nice, including the open kitchen. Service was very good and our server was knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered two Pad Thai Specials, one with lobster and the other with roast duck. Both dishes are a 5/5. The Duck Pad Thai, in particular, was excellent, nicely crispy, meaty and boneless. The lobster Pad Thai consisted of Pad Thai topped with a butterflied lobster tail which was perfectly cooked. The Pad Thai noodles had just the right sweetness to spice ratio and was perfectly cooked. We also ordered a Green Curry with Shrimp. This dish, in our opinion, was a 3.75/5. The sauce was a bit too thin and watery to our liking, and as a result, lacked the kind of flavor you normally get with a green curry. The shrimp and vegetables, however, were perfectly cooked. Try the Thai Iced Tea (5/5) as a welcomed break from the usual drinks. They make it with half and half rather than condensed milk. The portions are sizable and fairly priced. This place is another good example of when NOT to trust a high yelp review. I have this place a chance bit left very disappointed. I ordered a Thai dumpling and a beef drunken noodle. Simple, basic Thai food. How can they get it so wrong?!! The dumplings were dry and chewy. Probably frozen for a while. Drunken noodles was dry as well. The beef looked like a pork, wrong kind of noodles and why is there bell pepper in it??? I am sure the owner reads the reviews bit is willing to just pay attention to the undeserved good reviews and ignore the bad ones instead of trying to do better. Shame on you. The food supplier for both Thai Seed and Thai Spice doesn't have the wide noodles, so they decide to use the incorrect noodles instead of making their own like Dim Sum Kitchen does. I do prefer Thai Seed since they provide a spring roll and soup for their lunch specials and their sushi is also very good. read more

This Thai food place is a very calm and cozy place near the crazy chaos of the mall. This was probably the best service I have gotten in a long time, the appetizers came out in at least 6 minutes after we ordered them. They came out hot and delicious. Our waiter gave us water refills at least every 10 minutes or whenever our cups were empty. The main food came out very quickly just as we were finishing our appetizers, they were all delicious, flavorful, and very nicely presented, kudos to the chef for the wonderful food. Really wanted to like this place because it has outdoor seating and is fairly close to home. Service was excellent- food not so much. Gyoza were good. We had a shrimp appetizer that came out on a bed of lettuce with French dressing which was weird. Shrimp themselves were ok. Pad Thai was a major disappointment- too sweet, not enough peanuts or egg, and the chicken in it was obviously just thrown in and had no taste. We moved from busy downtown Sarasota to a new (for us) area a bit north. We have decried the lack of good restaurants nearby but today we discovered this gem. The place has a clean and contemporary decor, an open kitchen and also a regular kitchen. The menu is typical of Thai restaurants in Sarasota but the food is not typical, it is delicious! We had the fresh spring rolls with shrimp, they were filled with fresh vegetables, more bean sprouts no rice noodle filler, lettuce, Thai basil, and shrimp, the dipping sauce was tasty. The chicken satay, perfect, the Thai Seed Shrimp: fried shrimp with an amazing butter sauce and fresh veggies delicious. I had the Pad Woonsen with tofu, baby Bok Choi, red and green peppers and onions it was so fresh! Tasted homemade. The spices that you have to ask for are so good, especially the powdered chili mix. We ordered chicken pad thai, crab rangoon, kids fried rice & pad pak ruam. Everything was really good. I still have my favorite thai restaurant in town but this place is a great second, plus it's around the corner from me. The prices are reasonable as well. Was craving some Thai food, so decided to give this place a try. Ordered the pad thai with shrimp and the coconut chicken soup. Top notch. Pad thai - very generous portion with fresh ingredients. The shrimp were large, fresh, and not overly cooked. Coconut chicken soup - wow the white broth had this incredible flavor that was a mix of slightly sweet, sour, and savory. All subtle but taken together, really tasty. Large chunks of soft chicken breast pieces with flavorful mushrooms. The restaurant itself is very clean and the servers are friendly. Extra bonus that it's owned and run by Thai people, which probably explains why the food is so tasty. Will be back soon! read more
