Thai cuisine creates a fairly stark issue for us vegetarians (and vegans, and people with seafood allergies) because the authentic cuisine has fish and shrimp in basically everything. This place has notably decided to offer most of its menu available vegan, though I was dismayed to learn that their tofu and vegetable option includes broccoli, while the amount of actual tofu was not huge. The drunken noodles and pad prik khing I ordered had other flavors, to be sure, with Thai basil and a reasonable dose of chili coming through. The nuance of flavors I get at-say-Beau Thai was not evident, but for quick takeout it was good enough as a sort of 3.5-star place that vegetarians of all stripes can depend on. read more

A reliable place to order Thai takeout. I ordered the pad thai and basil krapow, both with chicken. I have had better pad thai, it's lacking in flavor compared to other pad thai dishes I've tried. I agree with another one of the reviews that the portions are a bit small, especially for the price; compared to other Thai places. The basil krapow had good flavor but just not big portion size, so I wouldn't get it as an entree again. They seem to be running a side business on DoorDash called "Fire Ass Thai", and this review is based on my Fire Ass Thai order. (DoorDash indicated the food was coming from this location which is how I figured this out.) So big disclaimer there, kind of an unusual circumstance. So Fire Ass Thai markets themselves as a specifically 'spicy Thai food' spot based on both their name and all of their menu items prefixed with "Spicy". For people like me who likes things really spicy, this labeling alone led me to place an order. Anyway, the food was not spicy. Not at all. They just give you some chili powder on the side (!!). I ordered "Spicy Drunken Noodles" with a spice level of "Level 5: XXX Hot" or something like that. It wasn't spicy at all, not even in the slightest. They definitely tricked me into ordering with their 'spicy' branding and didn't deliver on that promise. And the quality itself was very low. The drunken noodles were slimy and overcooked, couldn't finish them. And the "Spicy Egg Rolls" were again not at all spicy, in addition to be unusually small and again overcooked. The Tom Yum soup I ordered was a bit spicy and pretty decent, which is why this is a two star review instead of one star... I'm being generous. There's at least one good thing on their menu. But why not just be straightforward about what they are? And why have this second side hustle called "Fire Ass Thai" that essentially seems to exist just to entice people into ordering from them? Are not enough people ordering from "Thai Select"? Maybe because their food is generally not great, they should fix that instead of doing a spin off. read more

Thai Select is right around the corner from me and I've been wanting to get it for months. I ordered take out off their website, they had a couple of deals running like 10% off the order and 50% off of select apps which was awesome! I decided to try the Kanom Jeeb because of this and it was delicious, if you are a dumpling fan these are the way to go. Their yellow curry is super flavorful and had the perfect amount of veggies and chicken. The amount of curry they give you is definitely enough for two people, but the rice only serves one, I'd get a little extra next time. On a busy Friday night, our food was ready within 20 minutes, I highly recommend getting takeout from here in the future! read more

This is definitely one of my new favorite Thai restaurants! It's not a fancy restaurant, but perfect for when you're looking for a quick dinner. We got the dumplings as an appetizer (thank you Yelp check-in), drunken noodles with fried tofu, and duck curry. The drunken noodles were delicious and were very flavorful. I could have handled a lot more spice though! The duck curry was my favorite! The duck was juicy and the pineapple paired perfectly with the duck and curry sauce. Thai Select used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I was a once-a-week customer. But the price has gone up and the quality way, way done. Clearly the food is good because they were doing an amazing pick-up service. Grub and Eats pickups, and a lot of customers picking up their dinner. But therein lies the rub. Good for the restaurant but not so much for customers dining in. The line for pickups is right between the two columns of tables, so I had someone essentially standing next to me the entire time I was eating. Well not someone, many someone's. My recommendation. don't eat in until they do a redesign of their food pick-ups, otherwise just skip eating in the restaurant and do a pick-up yourself. I'm not sure why more reviews don't mention it, but they have vegan options!! They mark which items are already vegan, and then they can make any other plate vegan if you ask. My sister got curry (vegan), and we split pan fried dumplings! I got the chicken pad thai, was amazing! So, I'm tired of poor customer service from this restaurant!! I moved from another state currently. Just trying this restaurant and ordered a eggplant entree with white rice. This is my third time coming here, fairly new just opened. The inside of the restaurant has a very soft and welcoming vibe. The walls are a very nice lavender purple and they are always playing calming jazz music. They have an open kitchen that can be seen from the seating. Very family "mom n pop" owned place so you get first hand excellent service. They are always referring popular dishes as well as new special ones. I made it in time for their lunch box special that includes an option for either a single spring roll or two veggie dumplings along a side of soup which changes daily. I ordered the number 9 box lunch which was red curry with tofu and vegetables. It was spicy, sweet and creamy. The tofu was perfectly cooked and had a good bite to it. It came with a side of white rice which tasted amazing with the red curry sauce. The other order was a pad Thai with perfectly cooked beef. Very generous portion for a lunch box and just the right amount of spice. All lunch boxes have your option of meat types even veggie or tofu. After a good meal don't forget to get one of their delicious bubble teas, I recommend the black tea with boba. read more

What a major disappointment for a first try of Thai Select. Just look at the photos and judge for yourself. The Thai Select "chicken" wings were unforgivable. Not only did they appeared to have been re-fried three four times, they still had hairs on them, the meat looked greasy and tough. They don't even resemble chicken wings. Not sure what kind of meat it is but it's going in the trash. The Drunken Noodle was as bland as can be and the "beef" was also very tough. The whole meal made me sick. read more

The food was amazing. I had the drunken noodles with chicken and the soup and spring roll. The spring roll was cooked to perfection and the soup was really REALLY good. Im not a tofu person so I didnt touch it but I still ate the rest of the soup which also had carrots, broccoli and cabbage in it. The drunken noodles were spicy but not too spicy however the noodles were too overcooked and soft which kind of taken away from the it. Ordered take out from here a couple nights ago. The place is small and the takeout order was ready fast. The best sushi rolls we had were the Alaskan roll and the spider roll. The spicy salmon roll and tuna avocado rolls were just ok. We also got deep fried vegetable gyoza which personally I prefer pan fried not deep fried. The other thing we got was drunken noodles, thai hot, and they were actually very spicy which was awesome. I think next time I may get medium hot instead just so my sinuses don't clear as much haha but then again they were so good. This is a disappointment for sure. I spent 15 dollars on a meal that was brought out to me in 5 minutes in a metal tin with day old chicken and over cooked udon noodles. I go to restaurants for an elevated culinary experience and I feel like places that do this underhanded not actually fresh food and don't even have the care to bring the elements in the dish to uniform temperature are really shady and annoying.
