Thai Sky is pretty good! The portion and price is perfect! The pad Thai noodle was a bit bland but overall good.

I don't know what these other raters are smoking! I've eaten a lot of Thai food in my day, and they had, hands down, the best Tom Ka soup I've ever had. Super flavorful, and they've got a self serve add your own peanuts and spice section. Just a little hungry? Get a chicken skewer for $1! My mouth waters to the thought of their TOM YUM Soup with chicken. It is chunky with veggies and onions AND comes with vermicelli noodles. So bomb and so big that it is enough for 2 people. The owners are always so sweet and happy to give you extra fish sauce. I feel like I've tried all the thai carts and I keep coming back to Thai Sky. We stopped here on out first night in Portland after an all day of flying and their food hit the spot! Just what we wanted! Amazing summer rolls and my panang curry with pumpkin was off the charts! My best friend got basil beef w rice noodles and the best coconut soup I've ever had. I couldnt believe the portion sizes for the price. We will be back! read more

I cant even stress how happy i am. I found them when i first moved here and had no car. I now call in and pick up whenever im downtown or need a special treat. They are sweet. There is a charge but they do accept credit cards. Dont miss out on the Thai ice tea. Pretty sweet but oh so good! read more

I love this place; the food is good, flavorful, cheap and fresh. I first came here because I was hankerin for thai food but only had a debit card and at the time they were one of the few carts that took card. I work a couple blocks away from here and probably come here at least twice a week. I don't think I've ever ordered something I didn't like, but I generally order the spicy yakisoba noodles. I see a lot of bashing of this place based on the fact that they have pre-made specials every day. Maybe people don't realize this, but you can order anything made-to-order and they have an additional menu for things that aren't pre-prepared. The special's menu is the pre-prepared dishes, and you can order and get your food right away. It's perfect for when you are in a hurry and the food is still fresh and good, especially if you are there during lunch rush. The employees are great, service is quick, food is good... I recommend this place to anyone craving thai food. read more

What? A rush on a food cart at 4 pm? This place is SOOO worth it. For $4, I expected a pretty crappy overcooked soup from a vat. Instead, the coconut milk soup wash freshly prepared with perfectly cooked tofu and vegetables. Also, the man working there was a super-sweet ball of smiles. Awesome!!! read more

I stopped here on my way home, a very nice and happy person took my order. Quick service, great food and a big box to go with it, filled to the top. I was surprised by the very positive reviews after trying Thai Sky today for the first time and being quite disappointed. I order Pad Kee Mao with chicken - I wouldn't have placed the order if I had noticed that all of their entrees are made ahead of time and then kept heated in those big catering trays. The noodles were beyond done by the time they made it onto my plate and the chicken was almost unidentifiable. Everything was the same shade of dark brown. Aside from the green onions there were almost no vegetables, just a few slivers of very overcooked red pepper. The dish was fairly spicy, too, which I enjoyed but I imagine some people might be less than pleased to have it this spicy without even adding any condiments. Even at a bargain price ($5), it's not worth it to me to go back. I also ordered fresh rolls, $3, which were marginally better than the Pad Kee Mao. The peanut sauce is good and the balance of flavors in the roll was good. The rolls had tofu, which I usually really enjoy, but it was cooked to an almost rubbery texture and was unpleasant. There's much better Thai food at any number of food carts in the area - take my advice and avoid this one. read more

Consistent, friendly, very FAST and affordable lunch. Love their green bean stir fry especially. Also the tom yum soup with coconut milk fits the bill perfectly on a chilly day. The chicken broccoli curry was overdone yesterday, as another noted. They do run out of brown rice too often, methinks, especially as they charge 50cents extra for it, but they are nice about it. It took me a while to figure out why there was so rarely a big line at this cart compared to others on this row near my office. Turns out it's because they are so much quicker than others at putting together a scrumptious portable lunch and getting people served and back to work - or play. Love their spice and peanut extras, and lots of fresh limes. Great prices! $5 for a generous lunch. Lots of tofu items and vegetarian options too. My vegetarian coworker loves 'em too. read more

best tom kha ive had, very savory and so delicious. The meat is quality, not weird dark meat with squishy parts.

I eat here at least once a week spicy pork fried rice with a side of egg rolls and a coke 11 bucks and you will not be disappointed.

I have been a customer at Thai Sky since I was working at a booth at Saturday Market. I really liked the food then, and they have added a drink of Canned Mango Nectar to their drink selection! It's really good! Recycle the can! Oh, bring your appetite. Noodles under your dish are like one dollar extra. Bring cash, as well. You'll remember your meal long after you've eaten it. You should save some for later, as well, as the portions are big, in my opinion. But I'm still a petite woman. If you can, ask the owner about his family! He's a good man. He never talks my ear off, although, I think he could. Very friendly people work here. Do order the Eggplant Curry, it's my personal favorite. Unless it sells out, I guess. Also try the other Curry dishes, they're all very tasty. You can even get some To Go for when you don't want to cook dinner that night. One of the BEST food carts in Downtown Portland. Really good food, big portions. I got a small Tom Yum soup with pork and Pad Thai with chicken. The soup was good although not as spicy as I expected. They did load it up with pork so that made up for the low spice level. The Pad Thai was EXCELLENT and the portion was huge. Specify how spicy you want it or you will get it with no spice at all. This place is among a line of food trucks and one of three that serves Thai. Can't compare to the others as this was my first visit. Would definitely eat here again. read more

Of all the Thai food carts in downtown Portland that I have tried, this is by far my favorite. I can't speak for all the menu items because I always get the same things, but they are consistently good (Pad Prik King w/ chicken and the Hot Basil Fried Rice).
