A few things to note here - 1. You do not tip upfront. Your initial payment is only for the base massage rate. You tip after your massage. They have a sign right next to the front desk which basically encourages you to tip more (1 thumbs up - 20% tip, 2 thumbs up - 25% tip, 3 thumbs up - 30% tip). Don't feel pressured because of that sign. It's better if you carry cash for the tip. They prefer it that way because you give the tip directly to your masseuse. 2. The short form you fill out lets you provide information like pressure level, sore points to focus on during the massage and any injuries that the masseuse needs to be aware of. This is very helpful in case there is a language barrier. The front desk lady was really nice and friendly. And I wasn't pressured into tipping a certain amount which is great. I could have asked them to lower the intensity/pressure more but I thought that they were already doing the lowest pressure because I had mentioned it in the form that I filled out. My masseuse engaged me in a few conversations during the massage. I was okay with it but I can see how that can hinder the overall experience for folks who enjoy their massage in a more quiet and peaceful setting. There wasn't any communication barrier so I was able to ask my masseuse to lower the intensity for the oil massage which was great. Their massage tables are heated but you can ask them to turn it off if it gets too hot. Quite a bit of chatter (in Chinese) going on in the shared room consisting of 6-8 massage beds (available for customers getting the clothed foot massage or treatments not requiring a private room), so it's not the most peaceful experience.
