I thought this place was really good. I got the pad Thai (no peanuts) and my boyfriend got the pad see ew. Both priced at like $8 and it was so worth it. The pad Thai was nice and sweet tasting (I personally like mine like that). The bean sprouts and carrots were on the side so I could add as much or as little as I wanted. My boyfriend thought the pad see ew was good too. The portion size was great for a good lunch. We went at around noon and the place was dead. So service was really nice and quick. It took a while to get the food though, and they bring it out one at a time and not all together. They have a $10 card payment minimum. Parking was fine since it's in a little food area. I've been here a few times and have always had a great experience until today. I ordered a Seafood Pad See Ew and had to send it back as it made me ill. When I got the check I was surprised to see that I had been charged for the food. I explained to the waiter that I didn't think I should have to pay for the food since I sent a majority of it back after getting ill from eating it. Their excuse was that I added hot sauce to it and thus caused the food to go bad. IT WAS THEIR HOT SAUCE. The ones left at the table for customers to enjoy was what I had added. The waiter sent it off to another waitress who told me I had to pay even though I didn't eat the food. Then she came back and asked for me to pay for half. Then she came back, after arguing with what I have to guess to be the owner, and she she will take it off the check but that I needed to come back with a doctors note. I was not only appalled but embarrassed as well. I had brought a friend with me singing it's praises only to have gotten ill and had to argue over the bill. I'm sad, actually, because I had been coming here so long and to have been treated in such a manner. Unfortunately, I will never be eating here as well. We love to eat here, and are grateful for the people who work here. They are very helpful, and the food is so delicious. They also cater from spicy to the more delicate palate, which makes it easier for families. You can order out, but I enjoy eating there, from the food to the service. So glad we found it. This is a great spot for a quick Thai craving. We ordered the Pad Thai and yellow curry. Pad Thai was a little oily but with a refreshing flavor. The yellow curry was not as flavorful as other restaurant curries. The area is surrounded by other restaurants and a liquor store in a strip mall. Pretty decent thai food in the area! They have a fairly decent sized restaurant, with what appears to be a nice family owned business. The menu is extensive, with different options from appetizers, salads, noodles, rice, curry and main dishes. We got the panang curry, which was very tasty, not too spicy and had lots of meat. The pad thai was also good, not too soggy and nice flavor, though wish they could make that dish spicy. The service was polite but a bit slow. Food takes a little bit of time to come out but if youre not in a rush, worth eating. lots of people were ordering take out, which seems like a great idea as well. read more

This is one of my favorite places for Thai food. I've been to this location many times and it's always been great. It's not in the best of areas and is a bit hidden but worth a visit. The place is clean and the staff very friendly. This visit I dined in with my mom and we shared the drunken noodles (spicy) with tofu, an order of egg rolls and we both had a cup of the chicken and rice soup. The soup is so simple but very flavorful and comforting. The food was delicious and the portions are large enough for two. Some of my favorite dishes are the veggie delight, spicy bamboo, spicy eggplant and the prik king. They offer lunch specials Monday - Friday which includes your choice of soup or salad. read more

This is my two of my friends FAVORITE restaurant of all time. Not JUST their favorite thai place, but I believe it is their favorite restaurant. After them talking about this place for what it seems to be like eons and talking about it every. single. damn. time. Thai food was brought up, I decided to come here on what seemed to be like a date, which I was the 3rd wheel. (STORY of my LIFE, bro) Apparently they come here so often that they know the owners, the workers, etc and they even are friends with them on various social media sites. So after all the hype of how *good* this place is, I would say that I was pleasantly surprised. Afterall, my one friend eats canned soup day to day so how was I to trust his palate? Well, I'm glad I gave this place a shot. We were seated in one smaller table and had to be moved because we ordered enough food for 6 people, not three. 2 bowls of the same soup- which i forgot the name of- which was FREAKING DELICIOUS and a FEW appetizers later, i was already full. In comes the pork, the noodles, the curries, rice, and some other dishes...(damn, we're fatties) All delicious, all good. They're pretty dang cheap, too. As far as service, it was fine. I didn't see any problem with it, and everybody was nice, but then again, they're serving their friends so you can't really give your own friends shitty service, right? Anyways, the surrounding area is a little shady and like someone else said in their reviews, they would do better business if they relocated somewhere else... preferably closer to where I live. ;) I gave 4 stars because in conjunction with the tastiness of the food, the price is what really kicks it up, otherwise I'd give 3. Meh, food was way too salty. They rep the authentic Thai food label but aren't authentic-tasting at all but I guess considering the area and all, being authentic wouldn't get them much business. Pad See Ew - they use broccoli, not Chinese broccoli :( noodles were cooked well but the taste was a bit off (too salty). Pad Thai - probably one of their better dishes. Very Americanized though. Satay - not bad, peanut sauce lacked spices Wouldn't come here again but if you want Americanized Thai food, this is the place to go. read more

The restrooms, tables and restaurant were so clean. The vegetables were FRESH and cooked to perfection. I have had plenty of Thai food but that has by far the best I have ever had in my entire life. We tried this little hole in the wall when we first moved to highland and fell in love! All of their dishes are super tasty and authentic. We have tried other Thai food spots around like Mu in Redlands and the Thai house but nothing comes close to the flavors the Thai Spoon is able to put out! Although, everyone is entitled to their own pallets and opinion, i think its worth my extra 10 minutes of today to sit and write an update for this place, so that negative review is not to deter or discourage others from trying out their food. we had dinner here last night, there were 3 of us. we were greeted with smiles and seated promptly. its was a little busy for a sunday night but food came out right on time. we ordered the -Cashew Chicken $6.75 - Nua Sub noodles $5.95 -Drunken Fried Rice w/ chicken $5.75 -3 flavor Fillet $7.95 our friend had a bottle of stella artois...(they also have hangar 24 now too) steamed rice was served with 2 of the entrees let me tell you...the food still deliciously as always, in fact i think Montha and her mom were cooking that evening! we didnt see her up front, but she was still nice enough to come out to say hello to us! thanks ladies, outstanding chefs! and they have a new server who was very pleasant and very giggly, but we didnt mind, quick service. we had enough food leftover for lunch today...and once again we left ...full happy fatties! We went here on Saturday because when I'm sick, all I want is shrimp tom yum soup. We had never eaten here before but we were unsatisfied with every other Thai place in the area for various reasons. This was not the case at Thai Spoon! We loved the atmosphere, the service, the food..... I'm always quick to complain about a restaurant as I've worked in the culinary industry for over 20 yrs. Love this place, the food and the family. This is a small place managed by a family. The moms the one cooking in the kitchen, that's why food is so homy and delicious. Manager is very personable and always remember our names and the dishes that we usually order. If you like the food more spicy just ask. The menu is cheap and awesome. We go here every week. Chicken Panang or Yellow Curry are my favourites. Wonton soup is great as well. Garlic chicken, basil chicken, drunken noodles... All is good. I decided to eat here after seeing so many high reviews on Yelp. Having traveled to and lived in Thailand for a short period and having a Thai Fiancé, my opinion is slightly different than most. I haven't sampled all the dishes at this restaurant. The Red Curry I had is a very traditional Thai dish, however, it wasn't very traditional in my opinion, I actually questioned that if they brought me the right dish. LoL Even though it wasn't like any Red Curry I've had before, that doesn't mean it wasn't good. It was still a tasty dish, just not really traditional in the way it's made, tastes, or all the ingredients used.
