Perfect flavors and really cozy atmosphere for some well known classics. Nothing crazy, but all of the dishes we got were appropriately spicy and very flavorful. I got the tofu tom yum which was tangy and just the right balance of spice and coconut milk for a rainy day. The green curry was also sufficiently spicy, which is hard to find in a lot of thai restaurants in Texas. Cozy spot offering lunch menu (smaller portions) of the regular menu items. I had the chicken panang curry with rice from the main menu and it was excellent. The curry was rich, creamy, balanced & quite a generous portion. The Pad Thai (lunch menu) looked great and came in a solid portion but the chicken was just not it. The chicken was dry with an off taste and the smell was horrible. It felt like just thawed frozen chicken with no seasoning at all.!!! Our server was the sweetest, she was very attentive! She offered to replace the pad Thai, re do the chicken (adding a just for our server) . Tried Thai Square recently - ordered through DoorDash. The fresh veggie spring rolls were really good- soft wrapper, crispy veggies, and a nice switch from fried. We also had the pad woon sen and drunken noodles. Flavors were solid in the drunken noodle dish, but the chicken was pretty bland and the shrimp came out overcooked. Pad woon sen was also very lightly seasoned, not horrible but we like big bold flavors. The shrimp toast was the star of the order, easily our favorite and something we'd order again. read more

I had high hopes for lunch but was disappointed w/my pad thai. It was sweet! Like a dessert! What the heck????? On top of being sweet, it was spicy as "hell"-literally!!! I have Louisiana lips and have eaten my share of lbs of crawfish, pinching tails and sucking the heads and this was so hot I couldn't eat it. I just hated the papaya salad that tasted like a vietnamese salad. The curry lacked everything. It tasted like something Rachel Ray would make. The pad thai was OK. It was very salty and didn't have much tamarind flavor. Ill just stick to eating asian food in california or vegas. Texas is a no no so far for me unless it's houston. Three of us ordered Chicken Pad Thai so I can only review that dish and it was excellent. Perfectly seasoned (mild to medium) for all three of us. Went there to meet the family. Nice space - really liked the ambiance of the place. Kind of intimate. Service was excellent. Edgar, our waiter, was very patient with my dad, who is 90 years old and was having trouble reading the menu from his phone. As for the rest of the party, they took our orders and the food came out fast and hot. About the only complaint I have is that the food was targeted a little bit towards Americans. But let's be fair - this is America, duh, of course he's going to cater to the tastes of his clientele. But I ordered the green papaya salad using its Thai name, som tam Thai, and asked the waiter to let the chef know I'd like it to be authentic. It wasn't. It was tasty, for sure, and it had the right veggies. But the spice level was set for Americans, as was the level of fish sauce, which was disappointing. I went to Thai Square with friends to celebrate a birthday. We went on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant is pretty small We sat at our table for a very long time eating, drink our wine and talking. Business was steady, but there was no one waiting so we didn't need to give up our table. No one made us feel like we stayed too long. Our waitress was very efficient and nice and checked on us for water refills and to see if we needed anything at the perfect intervals. It is BYOB and they provide wine glasses. We shared two orders of Spring Rolls. One fried and one fresh. They were both delicious. All four of us had the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, three with chicken and one had tofu and extra basil. I had medium spicy. We all loved our meals. The medium spice is the perfect level of spicyness and is fairly consistent each time I go, which is an issue I have at many Thai restaurants. The service can be slow at times, but the servers have always been very polite and efficient. It can be a bit crowded while waiting to be seated as well because the restaurant is a very small space. The restaurant I really wanted was closed, so we found Thai Square. Right downtown, and really busy.The waitress was really quick and helpful. She recommended 2 things, and I picked the duck. GOOD choice! It was absolutely delicious, and something I had not tried before. we started with spring rolls, of course. Very crispy and the filling was tasty. Glenda has been on a soup kick, so she ordered the beef noodle soup. A very tasty broth and plenty of beef. I have always been a curry fan. The Lychee Duck Curry was excellent! The duck was very rich, and the curry excellent. I couldn't of asked for a better last meal before surgery. (If it matters, I've now been 4 weeks without real food.
