Chicken Rice Soup but replaced rice with flat noodles

Still always a great pick, especially on chilly days the soup hits just right, best vegetable tempura I've ever had at any restaurant and love the dipping sauce for it

Our party of 6 met for lunch around 3pm, and there was plenty of seating. Service was friendly and quick, and the food was delicious. I ordered the cashew chicken for $12, and due to the large portions I took a full to go box home. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the General Tso's was particularly tasty.

The Service was great for this visit. I like how the restaurant pulls from the "pool" of UNT students, most of the time you get a friendly, attentive and helpful server. Don't think that you'll get a regular tho, they are always seeming to rotate their staff. :) Food is great. We've been going there for several years and have never gotten anything we didn't like or wouldn't order again. I really like the varied menu options, all across the Asian cuisine. Tonight we had Cashew shrimp and shrimp Egg Foo Young, both were huge (we took over half home), hot and very tasty. Definitely fresh from the kitchen. The sushi is good, great to round out a dinner. Pretty reasonable price with the shrimp entrees being $15 and the sushi roll being $9. Most assuredly my go-to place for a weeknight dinner.

One of my very favorite spots for crab rangoons! Very casual restaurant right next to the UNT campus. I use to grab rangoons to go all the time while up in that area. All their starters were delicious from the potstickers to the spring rolls. I did have a California Roll (not pictured) that wasn't my favorite and the Chicken Rice Soup wasn't up there for me either. The soup portion size was huge! Some of the food fares better for me over others, but can't beat the prices.

When we walked in, it was very quiet--just us and one other table. If you're looking for a calm,…read moretucked-away dinner, you'll probably love that. For me, it leaned a little too quiet, but it did make the whole experience feel slow-paced and intentional instead of rushed. The space itself is cute and thoughtfully put together, simple without trying too hard. Service matched that energy--easy and natural. We were helped by both staff members throughout the meal, and they were kind, efficient, and attentive without hovering. The vegetarian egg rolls were crispy and solid, but the real star was the house sweet & sour sauce. I'm still thinking about it. It's that good. The green bean app was another win--crispy, flavorful, and super snackable. I personally would've loved a little more sauce, but that's a small thing. The Volcano Catfish (2/5 spice) absolutely delivered. Huge portion, perfectly cooked, and everything on the plate worked together. The fried rice soaked up all the flavor and held its own. This is the dish that makes the price make sense. The Pad Thai with chicken (1/5 spice) was a sleeper hit. Once you add the lime and mix everything together, it really opens up--bright, balanced, and surprisingly good. Only note for me--the chicken wasn't my favorite. Not bad, just not my preference. I'd order it again with shrimp next time (my husband thought the chicken was good). Overall, nothing felt rushed, nothing was missed--just a really solid dinner. Would I come back? Yes. Would I come back specifically for that sauce? Immediately.

Years and years later, I still love Andaman. The green curry still wins my heart, and the ambiance…read moreis still quaint and intimate and perfect for a light lunch or a nice date night. The service is always genuine and attentive, and if you ask, they'll definitely suggest plates for you depending on your style and spice level tolerance! I have eaten at enough sushi restaurants to know the formula…read more Step 1: Install bamboo. Step 2: Add a dragon. Step 3: Play mysterious flute music. Step 4: Name every roll after either a volcano, a ninja, or an apocalypse. Komodo Loco apparently looked at that formula and said, "Nah." This place has actual character. The restaurant is dark and cool without feeling like you're being interrogated. There are cozy little nooks everywhere, and somehow it manages to feel both laid-back and upscale. Like if a speakeasy and a sushi restaurant had a child who grew up with excellent taste. Then the food arrived. Look, I've had plenty of sushi. I've had good sushi. I've had "my friend won't stop talking about this sushi" sushi. Komodo Loco belongs in the last category. The fish was incredibly fresh, but what really stood out was that the rolls didn't all taste like slight variations of spicy mayo negotiating with cream cheese. The flavors were genuinely original. We ordered the Crispy Rice Bites, the T-Dub Roll, and the Horacio Roll based on our server's recommendations. The Crispy Rice Bites were so good I briefly considered ordering a second round before I had finished the first. The T-Dub Roll disappeared from the plate so quickly that I suspect it may have violated several laws of physics. The Horacio Roll was one of those dishes that makes you stop talking mid-sentence and stare into the middle distance while reconsidering every life choice that led you to not order two of them. Which brings me to our server: Breann. Or Breanna. I apologize for not knowing which one. In my defense, I was busy entering a committed relationship with sushi. My daughter is moving to Denton, and since we don't live here, we asked what we should order. Breann/Breanna immediately became the Gandalf of menu navigation. There was no hesitation. No "everything is good." No vague server diplomacy. Just confident recommendations that absolutely delivered. She was kind, funny, helpful, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. More importantly, she made my daughter feel at home in a city she's about to call home. As a dad, that meant a lot. I also loved how Komodo Loco celebrated Pride Month. Not because restaurants have to weigh in on everything, but because the atmosphere simply communicated: "Hey, you're welcome here." And honestly, that's one of the best things a restaurant can do. Good food fills your stomach. A welcoming place fills the room. Komodo Loco managed to do both. So yes, I'll be back every time I'm in Denton. My daughter thinks she's moving here for school. I think she's moving here so I'll have an excuse to eat at Komodo Loco several times a year. One of us is probably right.

It wasn't very busy at the time, but our drinks still took about ten minutes to arrive. We started with potstickers, which were delicious, and our little one's avocado came out quickly, which we appreciated. However, after placing our order, we noticed several tables seated after us receiving their food before we did. At one point, we were concerned our order may have been overlooked. When the food finally arrived, it was very good--no complaints there--but the wait was a bit disappointing, especially since most of what we ordered were appetizers. Overall, we'd still come back, just hoping for a smoother experience next time.
