About a month ago, I ordered online. The ready time was 30 minutes. I was waiting in my car for maybe 5 minutes after placing the order when I received a phone call from the female staff person (I can't think of her name at the moment). She called to tell me my order was going to be ready in 10 minutes. Now THAT is excellent customer service!! I order from them often, despite that another Thai restaurant is much closer to my house. I was craving pad Thai and debating whether to order from Thai Table (new spot) or Thai Thani (ordered back in February and liked their pad see ew). Both the shorter pick up time on DoorDash and average five star rating on Yelp are why I decided to order from Thai Table. I figured I couldn't go wrong with a restaurant with an average five star rating. The order was ready minutes after I placed it and before I even left my apartment. When I got to the restaurant, the employee who helped me was very nice and gave me my food as soon as I walked in. I got the tofu pad Thai with a Thai iced tea. Both were delicious! The people that work here are genuinely kind. I believe a husband and wife run this establishment. Their customer service and food is always top notch. I don't usually write reviews, but after today I needed to. Someone said they were giving them a bad review because they were unhappy with the wait time due to someone else placing a large phone-in order! On that note: Please be mindful when ordering large phone-in orders. There is usually only two people working here which means they may lose business on in-store orders or other phone-in orders or they may have to place people on long wait times. I get this may be upsetting if you are in a hurry to get some food, but just a friendly reminder.. it cost nothing to be nice and patient or to simply go else where if this happens. Found out that Thai Table was opening up this week so I wanted to try it for dinner tonight. Thai Table is located in the small strip mall on Oak Grove Rd. and Treat Blvd. tucked behind Oil Changers next to Go Crazy. It replaced Guacamole. I'm always searching for great Thai food in the area and Thai Table did not disappoint! I spoke with the friendly owner, Andy, and he told me they just opened and are in the process of getting their indoor dining set up. For now, they are offering take out only. We ordered Pad Thai with Chicken, Green Chicken Curry, and Phuket Talay. Pad Thai and Green Curry are standards of mine. If those dishes tastes good, I am sure the rest of the menu will be delicious. Well, we enjoyed all of the dishes! The standout was the Phuket Talay, a medley of battered prawns and fish and calamari, sautéed with onions, eggplant, bell peppers and basil in a garlic chili sauce. The Green Chicken Curry had some heat to it and was full of crunchy green beans, red bell peppers and eggplant. And the Pad Thai wasn't too sweet. Lots of tofu. It was well seasoned and prepared. I hope Thai Table thrives and does well here. The flavors are authentic. I just wanted to try this new thai place and ordered pad see ew and pad thai. Simply the worst thai food I've ever had.. Unbelievable to see all those highly rated reviews... In the Pad thai, the shredded peanuts were absolutely rancid and all mixed up with noodle so the whole dish was ruined.. if they put the peanut aside instead of mixing, at least I could eat the noodle but I couldn't stand the rancid peanut in every bite at all. Also the pad sea ew.. I just have no idea how could the pad see ew taste like that terrible.. it's like burned oriental medicine flavor with soggy noodles with stale beef. I just had to stop eating after 2 bites on each dishes. I regret my trial and felt so sad to pay $$ for trash.. The one star is for the server. One of the better Thai restaurants in the East Bay. It's small but clean. Service is good as I presume it was the owner that happily took our orders. I highly recommend the BBQ combination as it has the all the protein you need as a main dish. Accompany the dish with Spicy Eggplant and Jasmine rice, you'll have an arrangement that could easily be a favorite norm. This was probably one of the worst decisions I ever made when it came to eating out. I wanted to take my wife out for a nice dinner. I told her that I would like to try a Thai restaurant I read about in Concord. We arrived at 8pm and ordered appetizers, tea soup and a main dish. 30min passed and we didn't get appetizers or tea; so I asked about the tea. After 35min we were served the tea and appetizer. Not only did it take 45 minutes for the food to get to me but it was cold. I was so disappointed. I apologized to my wife about the situation. To make things worse, I was told several items were not being served; 15min later we saw the people across from us receiving the same dish they said they didn't have. guess you had to be a part of the in crowd... This is when the insult came. The chef served the in-crowd people across from us in 10min and apologized for taking so long to serve them and walked passed us as if we had no reason to complain about the cold food.
