I really want to know if the people who've tasted this place have ever really had Thai food before, or have taste buds for that matter. Ordered Pad Kee Mao and it was dry and tasteless. The dip for the Summer Roll was the opposite because it was so salty. My husband said his Papaya Salad was good. The Sticky Rice with Mango was average at best. I don't think you can really mess it up. All in all, unless you're starving, I'd skip this spot. There are better places for Thai that have flavor. read more

Then 18 minutes after that, the waitress told us that the Thai ice tea was out of stock. A couple minutes later, we received our appetizers. Fifteen minutes later (50 minutes after we had arrived), we received our entrees and then my dessert. Overall, I rate the quality of the foods as 5 stars. Our Thai spring rolls had a crispy outside, soft vegetable inside, and flavorful sauce. My husband called his wonton soup "pretty good." My green curry with chicken had the perfect amount of spice as I had requested and a delicious slight sweetness. My husband liked his pad see-ew with chicken and its side ginger salad. Previously, my family and I went to the previous location. My friends and I had a great dinner together at the new location. It's such a beautiful place with lovely people. This was our first meal in their new location. I think it has less charm than the original, but I'm glad they are in the main business district and have the capacity to turn over more tables. I usually order salad if given the option, but the clear soup that came with the meal was SO flavorful that I'm glad I bucked the trend. It can sometimes be difficult to make a selection from the menu, because there are so many good options from which to choose! I've loved everything that I've tried so far. Lately, my meal of choice has been the Hawaiian noodles with chicken, vegetable soup, Thai spring rolls and chrysanthemum tea. 2. Reasonable prices. Their menu offers an extensive selection of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, fried dishes, curries and beverages... all at very affordable prices. I paid $23 for a noodle dish with soup, spring rolls and hot tea. 3. Generous portions. I always leave with leftovers! The entrees, noodle and rice dishes are served in heaping portions and come with a generous mix of protein and veggies. Considering that many of the dishes are carb heavy, you will likely be requesting take-out boxes! 4. Tranquil ambiance. Even at its busiest, Thai Tamarind still feels like a peaceful place to catch up with friends or unwind after a long day of work. The lighting is soft and the vibe is quiet and calm, with pillows, flowers, bamboo and artwork to encourage relaxion and mindful eating. 5. Pleasant service. The servers are friendly and look genuinely happy to see and serve their customers, even referring to their repeat customers by name. I'm always greeted with a smile; I feel very welcomed whenever I come. I often dine alone and have experienced the feeling of being "overlooked" or "forgotten" by servers at other restaurants. The sauce they served it was a bit too artificial tasting and thick. The portion was OK but the prices here are a bit higher than at other places and I don't think the quality makes up for it. They were just okay. The pad see ew was similarly just alright. Adequate portion, but a price higher than numerous places nearby. They were a bit generous with the pepper here. My wife and I tried this place for dinner twice this week. It's a solid option for classic Thai dishes. We ordered to go and it took between 20-30 minutes from ordering for the food to be ready for pickup. On the first occasion, I ordered the pad see ew which was my favorite of the 2 dishes I tried (the other was chicken volcano). The sauce was just barely sweet and the chicken/noodles were cooked to perfection. I also tried the chicken volcano which fell a bit short of my high expectations based upon reviews. First of all, the portion seemed too small to justify the much higher price of this dish. I also was not a huge fan of the flavor of the sauce. The sauce did come on the side, which is a good idea to keep the chicken crispy on a to go order. Also, the vegetables underneath the chicken did not seem to complement the meal very well. There were too many onions that were not cooked very much, giving them a raw texture. Service seemed good, though we ordered to go, so it's hard to judge how it would be dining in. If I come back in the future, I will definitely stick to the pad see ew. read more

I ordered the Tom Yum soup (level 2) and the chicken pad Thai (level 2). We got some spring rolls as well. The Tom Yum soup wasn't my favorite. Why was it so sweet? It also wasn't spicy at all. The pad Thai was good though. Even though it was the same spice level, you could definitely taste the spice in it. I'm glad I didn't go up to a level 3. The spring rolls were good too. Crunchy and fresh. The place itself was cute! It's small though, and if you don't like someone standing next to you waiting for pickup while you eat, you might want to stick to pick up. My friends love it and come here all of the time. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here since we have a few Thai restaurants closer to where we live, but I would come again when I'm in the area. read more

It's very rare that I don't pack my own lunch on a work day, but on this particular day, the cupboards were pretty bare. I had planned to order lunch from another local spot, but then spotted Thai Tamarind on the map right by where my work travels were taking me. It's also very rare that I order Pad Thai, since I make a pretty decent one at home. I'm so glad I broke both those trends. The Pad Thai had less peanut flavor than others I've had, but more than made up for it in the complexity of its flavors (I ordered level 3 spice which was just right). I didn't realize when I ordered that soup and a spring roll were included, so that was a nice surprise. The vegetable soup was refreshing and I had plenty of the Pad Thai left for another meal. The woman taking my order seemed knowledgeable regarding gluten-free diet needs and my tofu was steamed instead of deep fried. I've had Thai Tamarind a few times over the years, once in a dine-in capacity (probably 5 or 6 years ago) and once with takeout (about 3 or 4 years ago), and both times they were pretty good! The recent takeout was SO fresh and flavorful and even better than I'd remembered. I tried pad thai and tom yum soup and both were excellent and generously portioned. My husband tried the spicy fried rice and spoke very highly of its flavor and portion size as well. Ordering from their website is super easy and the order was ready quickly! Even though we didn't dine in this time, it is such a cute little spot with cozy tables and beautiful decorations. My little sister and I wanted a casual dinner, and this was the restaurant we decided on. There are not many Thai restaurants in this area, so I am very glad we loved this one! There is one parking spot in front of the building, but we decided to park on the street and it was not an issue. The decorations are so welcoming and match the vibes perfectly. We were the only people in the restaurant, but they did have a handful of takeout/ DoorDash/ Uber orders. Our food came out extremely fast. We started with the Spring Rolls and Crab Rangoons. They were both very good. I wish the Crab Rangoons had a little more crab in them because it was mostly cream cheese, but the fried dough on the outside was so tasty. The sauce that came with both of them paired perfectly! For our dinners, we ordered Pad Thai at a spice level of 2 with tofu and Fried Rice at a spice level of 2 with chicken. I absolutely loved the Pad Thai noodles! The spice level was also perfect for both. The portions are large enough for two people or leftovers for the next day. The restaurant is small, but it's beautifully decorated and cozy. Came here on a Saturday evening to put the finishing touches on a busy and celebratory weekend! Parking is relatively easy across the street, but be careful jaywalking across the blind turn :) We were a party of eight (8), and although the restaurant appeared to be full (it *was* 8pm on a Saturday night), we were escorted to what seemed to be the basement of a house -- down some stairs and voila! There was the finished basement I had been anticipating with three (3) more tables! The wait staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly, and were definitely on top of the water refills. What I was missing was the chilies in the fish sauce (what Thai place doesn't have this?!) and the spicy krapow dish could have been served a little hotter -- was room temperature when delivered to the table (perhaps that was a function of our table's location). The steamed dumplings with pork were fantastic, and the dipping sauce complemented it perfectly. Also... this place is BYOB and doesn't charge corkage fees! The appetizers were good but the food didn't really do it for me. Would return here again when I'm in the area to explore the rest of the menu! read more

Neighborhood gem. Great service and incredibly authentic, everything we ordered was great. The spice level is authentically Thai, so don't step in thinking you're a tuffy. The Tom Yum should be renamed the "bomb yum" because it was truly the bomb. It's tucked away before the downtown section of Bellevue in a little building, nice little quiet space. Looking to try out a new Thai place and decided on Thai Tamarind. We went with semi traditional Thai dishes to get a good feel for the food--Masaman Curry and Pad Thai. In addition to this, we got the angel blankets as an appetizer. My wife loves cream cheese and enjoyed these, but they weren't my cup of tea--and 3 for $7 just didn't seem worth it in my mind. I expected them to be a little more special somehow, but they were really just cream cheese rolled up in a spring roll wrapper. The Pad Thai was good, and the portion was very large, but this dish not something I'd come back for as I think I've found another local place that I like a bit better. Tamarind's Pad Thai also had a little too much fish sauce for my taste. The Masaman Curry was really quite good though. A great ratio of sauce to rice and the flavors were really nice. There were lots of vegetables and a good amount of proteins too. Like the Pad Thai, the to-go portion was very large and I was able to relish these flavors over two meals. Highly Recommend it and I was pleased with our decision. Ordered a house salad with ginger dressing, a beef noodle bowl (like pho), a chicken satay app, and a chicken teriyaki entree. We called order for a pick up. Parking lot is small. The place was also open for dine in on Christmas! Bonus for the non-cookers! Everything ready in time, hot and fresh! It's kind of hard to review this place because it's hyper-local and I want to LOVE it. The food is really delicious, but (in my opinion) is incredibly expensive - about twice the cost of what you'll pay for similar food (for entrees). Does the quality make up for the price difference...I just don't think so. That's why I can't leave a 5-star. We had a $15 off promo from an online order app, but even with that it came out to $82 (for 2 people ordering to have some next day leftovers). $70 for just the food portion without any of the fees, tip, etc. In the future we'd definitely order directly and pick-up. We've only ordered takeout, but have heard the dining room is cute. Maybe for dine in the ambiance & service would make up for the higher price point. We didn't love the Crab Rangoon last time so this time we ordered the "Angels in a Blanket" instead, they were delicious! They were long little rice paper wrapped shrimp with cream cheese. We also got and really liked the: Chicken Satay, Pad Thai, Egg Fried Rice (didn't realize the chicken was coming with rice too), & Orange Chicken. Everything really was delicious, so my issue is just that for $23.50 for the Orange chicken (for example)...I expected more. Like way more. Either in blow me away quality or in a larger quantity and we didn't receive either. Even though I love this place, I hadn't gone in quite a while. We decided to go and it immediately made me question why I don't go more often. The crab rangoons are still the best I've ever had. They're rich, creamy, and have a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else. The pineapple fried rice is still the best I've ever had. They were out of scallops when I went, so I tried their vegetable curry and it was excellent. I'm still new to the world of curry, but I plan on ordering it again. They absolutely loaded it with more vegetables than I'd expect, and it was all cooked perfectly.
