Ginger salad with spring roll
Tiffany Y.

4.5 stars. Thai Tamarind restaurant in Bellevue serves Thai appetizers (e.g., chicken satay), soups, salads, fried rices, stir-fried noodles, curries, chef's creations (with many options for meats, seafoods, and vegetables), desserts, and beverages. Prices are reasonable. My husband and I ate lunch here one time. An employee promptly seated us, but we did not get to order for 15 minutes. Then 18 minutes after that, the waitress told us that the Thai ice tea was out of stock. A couple minutes later, we received our appetizers. Fifteen minutes later (50 minutes after we had arrived), we received our entrees and then my dessert. Overall, I rate the quality of the foods as 5 stars. Our Thai spring rolls had a crispy outside, soft vegetable inside, and flavorful sauce. My husband called his wonton soup "pretty good." My green curry with chicken had the perfect amount of spice as I had requested and a delicious slight sweetness. My husband liked his pad see-ew with chicken and its side ginger salad. My mango sticky rice had heart-shaped rice and fresh, sweet mango. The total price was $53 plus a tip.

Great neighborhood thai spot! Cozy environment with quick, friendly service. We tried the potstickers and the crab rangoon for starters. Their rangoons are unique and pillow shaped with a mild curry flavor. My go to is pad see ew at thai restaurants! This was really good and I added shrimp to mine!

This was our first meal in their new location. I think it has less charm than the original, but I'm glad they are in the main business district and have the capacity to turn over more tables. I usually order salad if given the option, but the clear soup that came with the meal was SO flavorful that I'm glad I bucked the trend. The waitress says it takes them a long time to cook down the vegetable stock. I enjoyed my lunch portion of Massaman curry with tofu, and hubby devoured his lunch portion of Thai fried rice with beef. Cost was $20 each including tip and without a drink or dessert. Parking is easy on the street (and free on Sundays). Gender-segregated restrooms.

Nice little spot in Bellevue! Very nice vibes and very good food! I enjoyed my Spicy Prik King Fried Rice and my friend enjoyed the amazing eggplant. Friendly hands off service but very efficient! Our food came out quickly. Our dishes were well priced but most of the chef's specials were over $20. I would be interested to see what they look like. Parking is on the street with only 3 spots out front. Be careful as it's on a big bend with a blind turn.

"If you order anything other than the trio curry you're getting the wrong thing." I say this to my husband every time he orders something other than the Trio, which he always does. Man this food is good, fast, and hot. BYOB if you dine-in. Keep in mind street parking, but it's usually ample. My only warning is their 1-5 spice scale is so much hotter than most other Thai in the area. Whatever you spice level you order, subtract one, so you can taste the flavorful food.

Thai Tamarind is truly a hidden gem in Bellevue. It's easy to miss this little spot tucked away on Lincoln Avenue at the edge of town, but you don't want to overlook this great find. Thai Tamarind has become my go-to spot for dinner meet-ups with friends or solo lunches on my days off work. You could say it was love at first bite. What I love most about it: 1. Satisfying food. It can sometimes be difficult to make a selection from the menu, because there are so many good options from which to choose! I've loved everything that I've tried so far. Lately, my meal of choice has been the Hawaiian noodles with chicken, vegetable soup, Thai spring rolls and chrysanthemum tea. 2. Reasonable prices. Their menu offers an extensive selection of soups, salads, appetizers, entrees, fried dishes, curries and beverages... all at very affordable prices. I paid $23 for a noodle dish with soup, spring rolls and hot tea. 3. Generous portions. I always leave with leftovers! The entrees, noodle and rice dishes are served in heaping portions and come with a generous mix of protein and veggies. Considering that many of the dishes are carb heavy, you will likely be requesting take-out boxes! 4. Tranquil ambiance. Even at its busiest, Thai Tamarind still feels like a peaceful place to catch up with friends or unwind after a long day of work. The lighting is soft and the vibe is quiet and calm, with pillows, flowers, bamboo and artwork to encourage relaxion and mindful eating. 5. Pleasant service. The servers are friendly and look genuinely happy to see and serve their customers, even referring to their repeat customers by name. I'm always greeted with a smile; I feel very welcomed whenever I come. I often dine alone and have experienced the feeling of being "overlooked" or "forgotten" by servers at other restaurants. That doesn't happen at Thai Tamarind, and it's what keeps me coming back again and again.

Pretty average Thai restaurant for the area. Not bad, but nothing too crazy. I went to try their take on some of my favorite dishes, including the pad see ew with tofu and and the classic Thai spring rolls. The spring rolls were alright, but did leave something to be desired. The sauce they served it was a bit too artificial tasting and thick. The portion was OK but the prices here are a bit higher than at other places and I don't think the quality makes up for it. They were just okay. The pad see ew was similarly just alright. Adequate portion, but a price higher than numerous places nearby. They were a bit generous with the pepper here. Not that much sauce (I enjoy it more saucy). Again, just alright. All in all, a solid Thai option in Bellevue. Prices are a bit too high in my opinion. But, the food is pretty good.

My wife and I tried this place for dinner twice this week. It's a solid option for classic Thai dishes. We ordered to go and it took between 20-30 minutes from ordering for the food to be ready for pickup. On the first occasion, I ordered the pad see ew which was my favorite of the 2 dishes I tried (the other was chicken volcano). The sauce was just barely sweet and the chicken/noodles were cooked to perfection. I also tried the chicken volcano which fell a bit short of my high expectations based upon reviews. First of all, the portion seemed too small to justify the much higher price of this dish. I also was not a huge fan of the flavor of the sauce. The sauce did come on the side, which is a good idea to keep the chicken crispy on a to go order. Also, the vegetables underneath the chicken did not seem to complement the meal very well. There were too many onions that were not cooked very much, giving them a raw texture. Service seemed good, though we ordered to go, so it's hard to judge how it would be dining in. If I come back in the future, I will definitely stick to the pad see ew.

The chicken pad Thai from Thai Tamarind is delicious! Tried the Chicken Pad Thai- spice 1 and it did not disappoint! They also give you delicious spring rolls with every order!!! Super authentic, delicious food!

Finally got to enjoy a dine in experience at one of my favorite neighborhood staples! I have had take out from Thai Tamarind but never had the pleasure to dine in due to covid. The ambiance inside is so warm and cozy. It is a small restaurant but tables are placed a nice distance apart and not on top of each other. The decor and smells coming from the kitchen make it the coziest little corner of Bellevue. The food is always top notch. I have tried many dishes from here from curry dishes to fried rice and several of the appetizers. Their crab Rangoon is my favorite in town!

Pad Thai. Yummy.

It's very rare that I don't pack my own lunch on a work day, but on this particular day, the cupboards were pretty bare. I had planned to order lunch from another local spot, but then spotted Thai Tamarind on the map right by where my work travels were taking me. It's also very rare that I order Pad Thai, since I make a pretty decent one at home. I'm so glad I broke both those trends. The Pad Thai had less peanut flavor than others I've had, but more than made up for it in the complexity of its flavors (I ordered level 3 spice which was just right). I didn't realize when I ordered that soup and a spring roll were included, so that was a nice surprise. The vegetable soup was refreshing and I had plenty of the Pad Thai left for another meal. The woman taking my order seemed knowledgeable regarding gluten-free diet needs and my tofu was steamed instead of deep fried. I look forward to returning with friends / family for a dine-in experience.

I've tried a few noodle dishes, including Pad Thai and Pad See Yew, and my husband has tried a few of the curry and rice dishes. The portions are good and they have a wide spectrum of food options on their menu! I'd like to try dining in at some point in the future. In full transparency, I will say that I was a bit put off when I last picked up my order because both the waiting area and my view into the kitchen did not appear to be very clean, and I had to ask twice for the order that I'd placed over the phone. That said, it could have been an off night, so perhaps take that with a grain of salt. It's currently not my first choice for Thai food in the area (it's a personal journey to find one's go-to takeout spots, IMO!), but still, it's a good option if you're nearby!

I am also not usually a dessert person, but this visit, I made an exception. The mango coconut ice cream with the sticky rice was a very special treat, particularly on this hot and muggy day. I don't even normally love mango, but yesterday I did. Just perfect, can't ask for more. Five stars.

I chose this place as an alternative to my normal place, and I can say that I won't be ordering from here again. Please note, I would've given this one star if I had picked it up myself or eaten in restaurant. I am giving two stars because I feel that delivery may have worsen the quality, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt.

This is not a high-rent location on a gentrified main street, and many folks would drive right by based on appearances. It also wasn't very busy, and that's a shame, because Tewada is absolutely fantastic. We were met by two very down-to-earth ladies enjoying a smoke break out front, and we knew right away that they were going to take good care of us. Our server was a sweetheart and a real character...we love to meet people like her. The place is not big, but it's well-worn and very cozy, and also super festive with all of the cute Easter decorations. We started with an order of fried dumplings, and they were very tasty, presented with care, and were obviously homemade. My wife then ordered a boba tea that she really enjoyed. For entrees we both went with a curry dish. My wife ordered the red curry noodles with shrimp, and she was very happy. She is not big on spicey food and went with the lowest level of spice - she chose 3 on the (kind of odd) 3-10 scale. Although it did have a small kick to it, you should not be scared if you too don't like hot and spicy food. I picked the massaman curry with chicken at 7 on the spice scale. I can't say enough about how much I liked the dish...fantastic! And speaking as someone who does like spicy food, a 7 is about as much as I would recommend for the typical American pallet. It was HOT, but still flavorful and enjoyable. Is this place fancy? No. However, the food was authentic, homemade, and not something you'll find very often. We watched as several locals came in for take-out or just boba for the kids, and it was clear from the long conversations that this place is valued in the community. We left with a smile, talked about it all afternoon, and will definitely be back. A solid 5!
