Pumpkin curry: good spice flavor, lots of coconut milk broth, slightly on the thinner side but tasty. Came with a generous portion of tofu. Panang curry: overall good. Nothing in particular stood out. Rice was cooked perfectly. Pad won sen: got chicken, it was overcooked and therefore tough. Been a customer for 7 years now, the first experience I had with this pad Thai really made me a repeat customer. It's filling; you could literally eat 1/3 of it and feel full, and have so much left over!! It doesn't look like very much when you are walking by, we were the only people in the restaurant, but the food was absolutely phenomenal! We started with the Chicken Satay which was served with a nice peanut sauce that accompanied it very well! This was very flavorful and set up a delicious meal to come. I ordered the Pad Cashew Nuts Noodles at a spice level 8 and my mom had the Pad Thai at a spice level 3. Both portions were generous and the food was so tasty! I had never had the Pad Cashew Nuts Noodles before, but it was recommended to be by the waitress and she was spot on! The different textures between the cashews and the egg noodles, the spices, and the mixture of vegetables really set me up for an amazing experience. The Pad Thai was also very delicious! Fairly Awful. We got delivery. The tofu was chewy, like tofu jerky. The stir fry vegetables was a collection of the most mediocre cheap frozen offerings: baby corn, cut string beans, broccoli. The eggplant dish was ... the same as the stir fry, except with six small pieces of chinese eggplant in there. The lettuce wraps were almost entirely clumps of lettuce with nothing inside them. The pad see ew was ok, but not, like, good, per se. Fortunately the spring rolls were edible (and the white rice, but who screws up white rice?) otherwise the whole meal would have been terrible. Of the four or five thai restaurants in Squirrel Hill, this one is undoubtably the worst. Steer clear. read more

This has been my go to Thai food place for four years now any time I'm in the mood for Thai food I come here. This was the first place I tried Tea and it was absolutely wonderful. I get the same thing every time the mango curry chicken it's soo good. The staff are all super nice and are one of the main reasons I love coming here so much. I take everyone here whenever they come to visit me because I love it so much. It's actually probably my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. The inside is small but super cute and they actually made a bunch of renovations within the last like two years or so and it's very nice. Even though it's small, I've never had to wait for a table and it's just an all around great spot. You can also adjust your dish from 1-10 on a level of spiciness but it can get pretty spicy so I wouldn't order a higher number unless you can handle it lol. It was really easy to split a check here too even after they already put it on one. They will also give you a separate container for rice and liquids so your food doesn't get soggy if you take it to go which I think is great! read more

I honestly wasn't impressed. Having tried many Thai restaurants around the Pittsburgh area, I saw Thai and Noodle Outlet specialized in noodles and seemed to be a good potential dinner spot for me. They had some interesting menu items, but I went with a classic Pad Thai with chicken. If you do not like sweet Pad Thai, do not order from here or make sure to select a very spicy heat level! It is very sweet, and I am saying this as someone who prefers sweet Pad Thai. It was almost too sweet for even me, but it was still alright. When you first pick it up, you see the red hue to the noodles, and it threw me off. There is a somewhat weird ketchup aftertaste to it. Not a huge fan. Portions are okay. Not to big, most can finish in one sitting, but enough to make you full. Prices are appealing, but places in Edgewood/Swissvale offer even cheaper prices for a similar portion and much better quality. The chicken was pretty tasty and well cooked. They added enough sauce to the dish, which I can appreciate. I would have liked more peanuts or a stronger peanutty flavor (they just sprinkle a tad bit on top, that's the extent of the peanut flavor). They are also conservative with their use of bean sprouts. All in all, not my favorite Thai place in the city. I'll want to try other Thai spots around it. Be warned that the Pad Thai is very sweet, and has a strange ketchup flavor. read more

The tangy citrus of good pad Thai wasn't there either, and it also wasn't that spicy. The chicken was really well done though, so I was glad with that. Most of the menu items are around $10-$15 with some specialty dishes slightly above $15. The best part is, the portions are HUGE (for both dine-in and to-go) so you can definitely get 2 meals out it. I have tried so many different ones, dried and soupy, and below are few of my favorite ones: *Sukiyaki - both dry and soup versions are good. The soup is very flavorful with a good amount of sourness. *Sukhothai - fragrant and rich broth. *Yen Ta Fo (pink noodle soup) - the seafood hits the spot real well and they are quite generous with with amount. This is honestly the best Thai I've had in Pittsburgh. Apparently, the owner of this place also owns Thai Cottage over in Regent Square. The food. For both dishes we got a spice level of 7. Compared to other restaurants where I've ordered a 7, this is definitely spicier... so stray on the side of caution if you can't handle spice. We got the minced pork basil on the chef special list. For reference, I'm pretty sure this is called pad ka prao in Thai. The pork had a perfect balance of 3/4 lean pork and 1/4 fatty pork. I looked up a recipe for it to make at home because it was that good. It is kind of expensive for the ingredients they use in the dish though ($15 for minced pork, basil and an egg). We also got the thai pho soup with beef. This was also great. The noodles aren't your typical pho noodles. They were thin rice/vermicelli like noodles and absorbed the flavor of the broth really well. The broth was spicy, sweet and sour. The meatballs tasted like those beef tendon meatballs you put in hot pot (mmm) and the beef was tender. We went on a packed Friday night around 7:30, and there was only one server, one expo and no hostess. I understand that the place is rather small, but they seemed a little overwhelmed. The service was still quick, and their staff was amicable. **When we were there, it seems as though their ventilation wasn't top notch. Anytime anyone got a really spicy dish, the whole dining area would fill with deathly spice fumes causing everyone to cough.
