We were rather disappointed with our last visit to Thai Terrace. My husband ordered his usual Massamun curry dish, but I decided to try something new and ordered Lemongrass Chicken Salad. Our order arrived very quickly but our hot tea was boiling hot when served. My husband was pleased with his Massamun curry dish, but I was very disappointed with the Lemongrass Chicken Salad. It looked beautiful with all of the lovely greens and the strips of chicken, but when I tried it, it was way too salty. I looked closely and noticed that a seasoned salt had been heavily added on top the salad. We were in a hurry for an appointment and I was hungry, so I started eating it The salad was ruined with all of the extra salty seasoning. I did mention this to our server when she checked with us about our meal. She thought maybe it was the lime dressing I didn't like, but I showed her all of the salty seasoning on top of my salad. I should have sent it back but we didn't have enough time to reorder a replacement meal. I don't know if this was how this lemongrass chicken salad was usually served, but I will never order it again. I feel that salt can always be added if needed, but it can't be removed once it has been added or if too much has been added. I was extremely disappointed with the lemongrass chicken salad. This place was great. Everything about our experience here was great. We showed up at 8:15 pm and they close at 9:00. She gave us a heads up that that was the situation but invited us to sit down with no problem. She was there to get our drinks and also get our food going. We all ordered something different as well as calamari for an appy! All the food was excellent. The most surprising was how quick the food was prepped and delivered to our table! Wow when they say spicy they mean it! I had the spicy salad with shrimp and my mouth is still on fire I chose spice level 3/5 and I relish spicy food and it was HOT...Despite the spice level it still had great flavors popping through. On a previous visit I had the noodle soup and the spice level was perfect. They are super quick at getting your order out. Lots of seating inside. And ample parking. Flavors are on point for Thai. Will be back to try something new. My only complaint is the shrimp shells should be completely removed when placed in a salad. read more

It's pretty standard American Thai. They off the option of no spicy which should be even less spicy than mild. Even still the food was too spicy for our kid. Thai food is always hit or miss if the place does low enough heat for a child. Salmon was overcooked as well. Best dish of the night was the pumpkin curry. Came in to pick-up my food and she was again rude and aggressive when she handed me the bag of food. The food was food but I my co-worker and I will not return due to the horrible customer service. Okay so I ordered this as takeout when I had covid. I got the pad thai with three star spice (to clear the sinuses, of course). I kindly waved to the delivery boy from the other side of the glass - single tear of joy to eat anything other than white bread. I dive deep into the pad thai and have a mini freak out. I can taste nothing. My wife? Can't taste a thing. Rush to the pantry for some graham crackers... and... we can taste them. As you may have picked up sooner than us, dear reader, is that the pad thai was so bland that we literally thought we had lost our sense of taste. It's kinda mean to say but I'm not exaggerating. We sincerely thought we couldn't taste anything! Hopefully it was an off night, but I'll probably never know because I don't want to find out it wasn't an off night. My wife hasn't been feeling well and was craving some comfort food, so she requested mango sticky rice. Our local Thai restaurant doesn't currently carry it, claiming it was a "seasonal thing". Sorry, in the modern age, this excuse doesn't cut it. Thus, we shopped around a bit, and found the dessert we were looking for on the menu at Thai Terrace, across the bridge from us, but not terribly far from home. I tacked on my absolute favorite Thai dish to our order: Beef Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles), Thai hot, because that's how I roll, and an order of crab puffs, and headed out the door, after being informed it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived five minutes early, so I waited in the lobby, but as stated, our order rolled out of the kitchen right on time, hot and fresh. I rushed it all home, handed off my wife's order, and dug in. Oh, how I've missed these flavors! I'd forgotten how wonderful Drunken Noodles are. The heat level was...not where I wanted it to be, but I'm starting to accept that few restaurants, if any, are willing or able to hit my spice requirements, but I can't knock the flavor, quantity or quality. I'm seriously considering ordering it for dinner again tomorrow night. Similarly, my wife said the mango sticky rice was delicious and hit the spot perfectly. The crab puffs, of which I had only one, were sweet, creamy and crunchy, with just the right amount of filling. I generally don't think much of restaurants occupying strip mall storefronts, but Thai Terrace is one of the few that had challenged my prejudices, and delivered a meal that left me wanting more, and not for lack of portions. We've done take out here for quite a few years. Matter of fact, I've probably done a review some time in the past. Still good food and friendly personnel at the counter. Thai Terrace had been our East Vancouver "go-to" Thai restaurant for many years but, unfortunately, the restaurant has changed hands and the menu, decor, staff, and the whole vibe have changed completely. No glasses were offered for our beers, and staff enthusiasm seemed low. They used to have really great garlic chicken wings, but wings aren't on the menu now, but when I asked they said they did offer wings. They were pretty good, better than O.K., but not up to the previous dish. My wife had the pad Thai and said that it was decent. I had Tom Yum with chicken and the chicken was a little dry, but the veggies were fresh and the soup was tasty. The old regime's seafood salad was one of my favorite dishes anywhere, but I was hesitant to order it due to the different menu. The food was O.K., the service was O.K., but not up to their prior standards. Our favorite dishes are not offered or not the same, and it looks like time for us to move on. read more

This is a long time favorite Thai place for me - everything they make is delicious! My favorite dishes are the pad Thai, the drunken noodles, the massaman curry, and the peanut sauce lovers. All of the dishes have a generous portion of meat, too. Great food and large portions - my fave Thai in Vancouver, so I will continue to order. But I am continually disappointed with how they are so stingy with the sauces when you order take out. They fill the containers maybe 1/2 way and rarely allow you to take more than one (and they are teeny tiny). It's only enough for a few bites. If you are ordering take out and like a lot of sauce, or even an average amount, make sure you have some at home. read more

Probably the worst papaya salad I've ever had. Not only did it taste bad, it was served with a giant wedge of cabbage. I can look past a bizarre garnish except that also meant I got about 1/3 of the papaya salad I usually do at other places. The salad rolls and peanut sauce were also mediocre -- I've never had salad rolls without mint. My husband asks the panaag was "just ok" except that his vegetables were basically raw. I ordered from Thai Terrace through GrubHub and although the delivery took a while, the food arrived warm. It was kind of expensive, but I was able to find a $20 off coupon, so that made the price decent. The flavor of the pad thai and the fried rice was so good!! Definitely my two favorites out of everything. The halibut dish came with a side of rice and it was also good, but it wasn't too memorable. It came with a side of sweet and sour sauce too and the veggies tasted pretty good. We asked for medium heat for the pad thai, but it tasted like it didn't even have mild spice. I would love more heat to it next time. It was my first time trying mango sticky rice but I didn't really like it. The overall dish tasted ok, but the sticky rice was mushy... like it was cooked in the pressure cooker (overcooked) and the mango was really soft and tasted sour. I'm not sure if the texture for this dish is supposed to be like this? The sticky rice should have a consistency of not being overcooked or undercooked and I would prefer if the mango were sweet and not too soft to the point where it's also mushy. I really liked Thai Terrace! I would definitely eat here again and even dine-in the restaurant in the future. Some dishes were a bit expensive, but overall, the prices weren't too bad for the portion. I would skip the mango sticky rice for sure, but I'm curious to try it at a different restaurant or food cart. read more

Really really really love this place!!! The food is delicious, no what's if's end's about it. It is delicious! Simple as that! I usually get it to go cuz it's typically busy, I like to eat my Thai food quietly at home, today however we decided to sit down and eat there and the food was just as delicious! I had #57 spicy, Pittaya seafood combo ahhhhhh soooooooooo good!!! It's a pretty big plate and I ate every last bite of it. The servers are quick and efficient and always at it, the food tastes fresh and the quantity is really good! It's coming from a foodie :] I live only a few miles down from thai terrace and will keep going back there as long as they keep making their food kick ass!! I wish other places would copy places like thai terrace. When you eat their food you have a party in your mouth!! It's an explosion of flavors!!!! They opened my boxes during pandemic!!! Which is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I contacted with them, the guy was very rude they said they have nothing to do, no apologies at all!!! I totally understand why u opened my boxes, but u should let me know first, If I think it will casue potential risks, I'll cancel my order. U can't notify me and deliver my food with opened boxes. Okay, so I have been getting Thai Terrace for at least a decade. Has always been the best Thai in Vancouver, but this last year it has steadily gone downhill. Since Covid, I have only got to-go orders. All I can say is that I have been very disappointed in what I have received. Doesn't matter what spice level you request for an entree...it always comes with zero spice. The last curry I received clearly had no spice added at all, and was fairly bland. I have been a fan of the crab appetizer, but the last batch was just gross...nothing they would attempt to serve in-person dining at the restaurant. They were terribly burned, and two of the six were half the size as the rest. The dipping sauce? None included. All were inedible. Getting delivery? Don't bother asking for basic things like napkins or plastic forks...they are never included. Not sure I will order from here anymore as the last few orders have been greatly disappointing. read more

Sheldon may only eat Thai on Monday's from a specific take-out place, but I'll take Thai anytime, anywhere ... which led me to Thai Terrace just off Mill Plain. Flaming Beef with Bell Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, and Pineapples wasn't nearly as flaming spicy as I'd hoped, but the mix of beef, pineapples, and heat was still tasty. Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) is one of our standard favorites at almost any Thai restaurant so getting the Thai Terrace version with Tofu was an easy choice. It was also easy to see why this is one Thai dish that will fill you up fast. The best discovery at Thai Terrace was the Pad Eggplant version of Pad Thai. It was simple and flavorful ... and satisfying. Thai Terrace may not stand out in the sea of Thai options around town and it probably shouldn't, but I'm still a fan because the food was tasty and I'll take Thai anytime, anywhere. read more
