I have been a frequent customer at Thai Texas since around 2014, and I have never once been disappointed. I bring everyone here if they're from out of town, and most of those folks always want to return. The owners are passionate, kind people - you can tell that from how hard they work and how wonderful their food is. I live close enough to qualify for delivery, and the most difficult thing about that is not ordering from them ALL the time! Their food is seriously fantastic; I can't get enough of it. My personal favorites are the Thai Texas Fried Rice, the yellow curry, and the crispy pad Thai! It's pretty much impossible to order something that isn't delicious, so you really can't go wrong with any of their options. Those are just the dishes I order over and over. read more

There are many Thai restaurants in Arlington and we've tried several. We decided to try this one yesterday, since they had in-dining seating. Since they only allowed 25% capacity, we felt relatively safe. When we arrived, there were very few people in the restaurant and the way it was set up, we felt completely safe. During the coronavirus situation, the meals are served on disposable plates, but the food was very good to excellent. Service was also excellent. Prices are comparable to other Thai restaurants so I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Thai Texas is the best Thai food I have ate outside of Thailand. I feel lucky to live so close lol. The Tom Yum Goong is very flavorful, addictive, and plenty of shrimp. The Pad Kra Pow is always another favorite. It can get busy at times, but worth the wait. read more

We went in for a late lunch really craving Thai food and it hit the spot! We started with a papaya salad which was so refreshing. We also got the lunch special of drunken noodles and curry. It was all very good and exactly what we were looking for. The only thing however is that the food took about an hour to come out. Consistently very good Thai. Very long wait time for pick up or in restaurant service. Some confusion with how long a pick up will take-- and even if I order at 530pm, w pickup at 615- I'll inevitably have to wait another 30-45minutes. With that being said- plan ahead and order early. Small place...and busy. Called for takeout after reading reviews on here. Was placed on hold for over 7 minutes, the gentleman on the phone was apologetic and very friendly so Indecided to go ahead with order. ordered crab rangoon and shrimp pad thai, and chicken pad thai. I arrived at restaurant about 25 minutes later and was surprised my order wasnt ready. But it seemed like they were short staffed. On the bright side I knew that meant my food would be freash. Smelled good..i grabbed a crab rangoon out of the box as i drove home. The crab rangoon was sour and i couldnt taste a drop of crab in it. 6 bucks for 5 pieces of yucky rangoon. At least the pad thai fared better. My husband wasnt too happy with the amount of shrimp in his pad thai and it was $2 extra for shrimp pad thai. My chicken pad thai was good. I went in to pick up a phone in order, the guy charged us 40 bucks for some mediocre food. We got a side of fried side it was so dry and so small like 25% of the box was rice it looked like they were running out of rice and just skimped us. The papaya salad we got just tasted like straight peanuts it wasn't spicy at all and we got the 5. The guy I was cashing out with he told me the total and said don't forget to tip... this isn't how you run a business I was kinda shocked. There were only 2 tables of 2 when I walked in. I wouldn't waste you money here. I would go to better Thai restaurant somewhere else, like Thai house. There service isn't great but there food is. Never again ! read more

Tonight I ordered Chrispy Pad Thai and wanted a four spicy. The order was most disappointing because the food was Luke warm at best and the only spicy part about the meal was a green onion. My wife had a spicy ginger and it was hotter than my meal. I sampled about 1/8 and left the rest I said to my wife that I'd get a to go box and throw it away at home. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurant. The flavors are always on point for spice and flavor. I love their crispy duck, khao soi, Thai poppers, coconut ice cream with fried bananas just to name a few. Since it can be busy for lunch, they can take orders in advance so the food is ready to dine in. This is especially helpful when you have an hour lunch break with a 15 minute car ride to get there. I also like how we can pay at the table and separate checks easily. Ambiance is nice. I like the craftsmanship that the owners to to build the huts and the "above ground aquarium". They are also in my delivery area range so I love almost everything about this restaurant including the owners! read more

Really good food and super-friendly proprietors and staff. Our last order consisted of Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Pepper Steak, Pad Thai, & Red Curry and everything was delicious! We called in our carryout order and the food was ready by the promised time. The quantities are good and everything was satisfying. The Thai Pepper Steak doesn't mimic the Chinese style so beware if that's what you're expecting. Its flavor is slightly less prominent and the sauce is a little thinner but it's of good quality. You can customize the spice level here and I recommend starting on the milder end and asking for hot sauce on the side, if desired, at least until you work your way up and know you can handle the heat. "Thai hot" is usually a lot hotter than the typical American palate so don't spoil your meal by venturing too far up the heat scale. Not that we experienced any issues with this, but just as a general tip for those who may not order Thai food very often or are trying it for the 1st time. If you like people who care about their customers and enjoy hot, fresh food then I recommend giving this family-owned & -operated spot a try! Prices, too, are very reasonable. read more

I've been coming here ever since they first opened and the past few times I have come it's been a little disappointing.. This past time I went was a few nights ago and the service was the first thing that really turned me off. It use to be so welcoming here but now I feel more of a burden. The staff is a bunch of teenagers which is okay but they need to learn how to be customer oriented. One of the workers had his pants down past his thighs which is just odd. Our server was a good kid but again he made me feel as though I was a nuisance. The food always has its flavors on point. We got the crab rangoons and usually they are very creamy but this time they were very hard and crunchy. Even on the inside. I think it was just overcooked but the flavor was great! Of course our entrees were just as amazing as ever. I will always love this restaurant my family and I have been coming since 2014. To me the food outweighs the service but I just felt as though it should be shared so this can be changed before you lose customers who care more for service than the taste of food. read more

As others have mentioned the décor is a bit odd. Tiki Bar Thai? Yes, yes that is the décor, but the food brings you back to true Thai. First and foremost, customer service here is great, and the employees here really do love this place. They eat here, they love it, and it shows. If you do not know what to order, just ask. Every employee is willing to spend time with each customer to make sure they get what they want. In fact, they will stay open until everything is done cooking. We actually picked up our order nearly an hour after they closed, and there was still people there eating. They seem to have a philosophy of feed those who want to eat, which I love. This place is a perfect example of why I love small businesses because they love what they do. As for spicy, you pick it, and if you're one of those spicy masochists, like myself, they can even do off-menu spicy. Just ask for authentic Thai spice level, and roll with it. For me, I like to eat non-American food the way that people in that country eat it. My girlfriend ordered a 7, which she said was not hot enough for her, but I told them to make mine authentic Thai spicy, and mine had a good heat. So again, if you are a spice masochist, do not be afraid to tell them, otherwise, they will think you are a lightweight. As for flavor, both my girlfriend and I really loved our food. The rice was cooked nicely, the heat was good, and each dish was flavor packed. I'm not sure if this place is still BYOB, but the daiquiri place next store can meet all of your BYOB or to-go needs Oh, and if you order a to-go order, like we did, check your food before you go, especially if you ordered a lot of food. They missed some stuff in our order, and there really is not a way to correct the order after you leave, especially if they are closed.
