We decided to come here for dinner, since there was a gift certificate on Restaurant.com. The service/staff is very friendly and helpful. The food tasted okay. The chicken satay was good by itself without any sauce. The cucumber salad that came with chicken satay was good, but just a slight bit too much vinegar. I ordered the house noodles, which were a bit too salty for me and I did not like the sauce. However, I liked the veggies in it and the shrimp was fresh. The price was a bit on the high side for me for the portion size. It was just enough to be full but not stuffed. The mango ice cream did not taste that great to me. I wish they had green tea ice cream. Also, I expected more of a Thai food taste with more basil in the food, but it didn't quite have that Thai flavor. Also, my GPS and cell phone GPS could not find this place and got us lost. For future reference, this place is across the street from Lowe's and in the same shopping center as America's Best and Moe's. This restaurant just opened and is in the little strip mall on the left before you head back into the Wal-Mart and Lowe's complex. It's the best Thai food in the McDonough area. I had the Bangkok Chicken - Thai Hot, and it was very flavorful, the spice was pretty hot which was great, and the chicken/veggies/rice were all cooked perfectly. Don't be fooled by the fact that it is located in a very run down shopping center. Once you are in, and take the first bite of food, you will realize this is the best tasting Thai food in all of south Atlanta. The cashew but chicken is prepared in a very unique way. I hate to leave this review but I must. I've had Thai Time twice and ordered the Pad Ke Mao. It was very, very good. However, on 8/15/18, I went for lunch and ordered the Pad Prik Khing and while the immediate flavor was good, the after taste was one of cleanser/detergent. Something was really off as if detergent was used to clean the vegetables or the protein that came in the dish. It is still lingering in my olfactory nerves 3 hours later. read more

I'm not really sure what's happened at Thai Time. Have they changed owners or cooks?? The first two times I went it was amazing flavorful food! But after that things went down hill. I just went for the fifth and last time unless I hear that things are better. The dish I ordered had chicken and vegetables with a spicy sauce. The chicken was very very rubbery...again! I'm not sure if it was under or overlooked but I couldn't cut through it. The veges were way undercooked...almost raw. This was the the third time I ordered it. The first time was delicious and then the second and third times was the rubbery chicken with raw veges. It's so unfortunate because most Thai, Chinese and Japanese are all the same. Love this place. The thi tea is great. I would say this is one of my favorite thi restaurants. We drive all the way from Covington to eat here at times. We were driving from TN and decided to stop here. We arrived at this restaurant at 4:02pm on a Sunday. The sign written on the door stated Monday-Friday - Lunch 11:30am-3:00pm. Sundays open from 11:30-10pm. A lady approaches the door and begins to unlock it. My sister, confused, due to the apparent misleading and incorrect time stated on the door asked the lady if they were just opening up. The lady said yes we were closed for lunch and said " it's on the sign" and walked away. We could immediately tell that something was off with her and just decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, hey maybe she was having a bad day? We asked her if pets were allowed as I had my 9 lb miniature poodle on the drive. She said No it's not allowed and we immediately told her it's okay we understand as not all places do allow pets. So we decided to do takeout. The woman had an obvious attitude throughout the whole ordering process. After we paid we asked her if we could have an extra takeout tray because we don't have plates on us as we are driving. She told us they charge extra for that. We asked for extra forks and she also told us they charge for that as well. My sister explained to her at the end that the sign was misleading and the woman pulled out a menu with the correct times. I said yes, but the sign is incorrect in comparison to the menu. I told her she was being rude from the moment we approached the door. She then told me she was being rude from the moment we asked if a pet can come in here. This tells me and anyone else who is clearly reading this post that she 1) was aware of her rudeness and 2) that If it were a service dog which she did not ask, she would have an issue with it regardless of if it was someone with a disability or not. I would rather not be sitting here on a long drive writing a review but this woman's customer service and attitude was absolutely appalling. If the food tasted like rainbows and sparkles I still would not give this place my business. read more

I had dinner here about two weekends ago. I had Thai iced tea, Pad Thai and Fried Calamari. The calamari and the iced were very good, the pad thai wasn't bad but something was off. It didn't taste like previous pad thai I've had there. Then after I left, I got a migraine. After reading Andrea F's post about the MSG, that's what triggered my migraine and maybe the reason the pad thai tasted a bit off to me. Service was pretty bad. We came in at 2pm for lunch and when we tried to order bubble tea, our server came up with multiple excuses basically telling us why she couldn't make the bubble tea. First she explained that she was alone and too busy so it would take too long to make. She estimated 35 to 40 min to make the bubble tea. Basically advising us not to order it because it would inconvenience her. It's very rare that i leave negative reviews but it seems some competition for thai food is in order since this place thinks they are a monopoly and can come up with excuses to not provide menu items. Very disappointed because i came here thinking it would be a great experience with all the positive reviews i saw on yelp. Maybe it was this one experience but it definitely left me with a bad impression and i probably won't be coming back. Side note: my girlfriend and i did try to come here on another occasion (for lunch) and we got turned away that time because they explained that they close at 3pm. We arrived at 2:30 that time. I've been in the restaurant industry so I understood it at that moment but looking back, they were fairly discourteous that time as well. Thai Time is my favorite place to eat. I usually order the chicken wings and highly recommend them. I have seen a recent review saying the chicken is rubbery, but I find them to be perfectly cooked. I think the staff is very professional. I was dining in last week and witnessed an unsatisfied customer. The waitress handled it well and provided alternatives to the situation. Went here tonight and this place was AWESOME. My boyfriend had the duck curry which he liked. He likes spice and the medium was not quite spicy enough for him. I had the basil lamb rack and it was to die for. Really recommend that. The tom yum Kai (spicy chicken soup) was not spicy at all, but crazy tasty. The place was not busy when we went, more takeout orders came through than actual sit down guests. Service wasn't slow, and it was clean and nice in the restaurant itself. I had the absolute worst service I have ever had in my life. When I first walked in I could tell that the server was having a bad day because she sucked her teeth but I ignored it. There was only one other table in the restaurant so we were sat fairly fast. When we were ordering the server just had an attitude about every thing. I ordered the cashew chicken. She asked "how spicy" I said "very spicy" she answers back louder and when an attitude "how spicy?" Instead of just showing me or telling me the specifications. She was just extremely rude. Then I continued to listen as she was rude to others. An African American male walked up and sat at the bar to order to-go food. He asked about basil eggrolls, she says "We have basil rolls or egg rolls, they are not the same and we cannot do them that way." He proceeds to order. Then another African American male walks in to order he wants extra veggies she says to him "You cannot get extra veggies, you are reinventing the menu" then proceeds to tell him what he can get for an extra charge. He never once said he had a problem with paying. She made that assumption. Then she proceeds to say "Im not here to make friends" At this point everybody turns to look at her. She turns to the only Caucasian table in the restaurant and says "am I right?" That's when I knew it was a race thing. I proceed to let her know that it was rude what she said. She says "You get what you people dish out." So you mean to tell me you are treating me this way because of how someone else treated you? Then proceeds to say that is why the sign on the door says we can refused service to anyone. I have never dealt with something like this before and I pray that you don't have to either. The food was average, but it was a very disappointing experience. The lady who "greeted" me was unapologetically curt and standoffish. I asked a question about a menu item and she replied hurriedly, to the point it took me a minute to process what she said. I placed an order for takeout and went to have a seat at the table while I waited, just to be reprimanded and directed to sit at the bar. The restaurant only had one other couple there so I wasn't occupying any precious real estate. Rather than comply, I chose to wait in my car. She was very bothered for some reason. This was my first time trying Thai food and i was not impressed at all. The first thing i found odd was i ordered to-go when i came there and the food was done way too fast...I ordered the Pad Thai and it just was not all that good. The chicken was too tough..the noodles were somewhat rubbery. It came with chicken coconut soup that tasted very watered down..not much flavor. I came in around what should have been the lunch hour rush and i was the only customer there, which seemed like a red flag for me. I think what made the experience so great for us was the waitress. She was such a sweetheart! The food was also good. We ordered the angel wings and chicken pad thai. The wings seemed homemade. Its probably not for everyone, but we were pretty satisfied with it. I order the hot flavored pad thai. It was 2nd to the spiciest kind they had. I loved how they actually did make it spicy unlike other places that are afraid to add the correct heat. The atmosphere was really cute too. Although kind of out of season (they had valentines day decor and christmas icicles lights outside), it had a relaxing feel and also had Thai music in the background. Best pad Thai I have ever had- the lime, bean sprouts, thin noodles, and crispy tofu made it absolutely delicious.

Anyone who has reviewed Thai Time negatively in the past should really give it another chance and reconsider. This is the second time in the past month where I have eaten there and the service and food we're both immaculate. Most recently I ordered takeout and - baturally, being as clumsy as I am - dropped my food on the floor before I even took five steps. Not only did they remake my order promptly and free of charge, they were also completely cool about it and even joked with me like I had done nothing out of the ordinary. I go to this place pretty frequently however I will not be returning after my experience here today. I ordered what I usually get which is two orders of the cashew nut chicken and one order of the "shrimp basil rolls". I say "shrimp basil rolls" because I've been to some Thai restaurants that have basil rolls without shrimp or with tofu, pork, etc. Anyways, when I arrived to get my order, I received an order of fried shrimp rolls. When I spoke to the manager about it, she was very argumentative and rude insisting that it was my fault the order was incorrect because I called them "shrimp basil rolls" instead of "basil rolls". I was also over charged but in order to avoid further dialogue with this particular employee I left and called later asking to speak to the manager which is when the same woman answered the phone and told me she was the manager and continued to argue with me about what I should have said and denying blame for getting the order incorrect. She did offer to refund the money however I probably will not even take the time to go. After working all day myself, the very last thing I want to do is pick up my to-go order and be disrespected by an employee I am giving my money to. I have worked as a server before and the way I was treated was absolutely inexcusable. There are plenty of other Thai places in the area where the staff aren't rude and disrespectful so I will be sure to take my business there. read more

Oh how I love this place! I have been craving some Thai food lately and decided to give this place a try. I get spring rolls and vegetable (stir fry) with chicken. I usually ask them to make it hot and boy is it hot!! I ate here three times in one week. Their dinner portions are enough to share with two people if you're not a big eater. I called in one time and waited the other two times. It only took about ten minutes from the time I ordered to the time it's ready. The dinner portion costs $14 and the lunch portion costs only $10. The service is quick, the workers are friendly and you don't have to deal with there being a language barrier. I don't think they are open for dinner until 4pm. I know the Yelp page says differently. They also sell wine, every time I've been in I've never seen anyone sitting down eating but they do have a nice large seating area and bar area. Give this place a try!
