I've been here a couple times and the food has always been pretty good. The parking for the restaurant is a little tight and sometimes you end up having to park on the street. The restaurant itself is inside a house that has been converted to a restaurant which gives it a homey-type ambiance. Like others have mentioned, the service is really quick. It kind of makes me wonder if they are cutting any corners. The food that I had was pretty authentic and tasted fresh, but it wasn't very spicy and the curry was a little bland. I did like the Nam tok (beef waterfall) and the Pad Krapow, which remind me a lot of Thailand. Service was quick at first, but they seemed to forget about us after we got our food. I think that's because it was a little busy and they only had a few servers. Overall, a good Thai restaurant. read more

While visiting some friends in American Fork, my friend's wife was craving some pineapple curry. We also went here about a month after my wife and I got back from a couple week trip to Thailand. I also live in Los Angeles, which has one of the largest Thai communities outside of Bangkok, so I like to think I know decent Thai food. That being said, American Fork is probably not the easiest place to find the ingredients one would need for authentic Thai. In actuality, the Pineapple curry and papaya salad were actually pretty close to authentic flavored dishes. The pad see ew, on the other hand severely missed the mark the sauce is all wrong and soy sauce based with what appeared to be Italian pasta noodles. As far from legit as you could get. The building is also really cool and the service was really friendly and if you are craving Thai I would stick to the curries. read more

This was a great find by a friend of mine. A group of us headed down to check it out. It's a Thai restaurant that is in a slightly converted old home. They kept the individual rooms instead of opening up the building into a traditional restaurant layout, so we ended up eating in one of the upstairs bedrooms. I had the Pad see ew and it was delicious. The broccoli was cooked just right and the soy sauce base was wonderful. Just the right amount of kick! read more

We really like this place. We got the green papaya salad, the Panang curry, and pad Thai. The green papaya salad is a must, the Panang curry was amazing, and the pad Thai was really good. They also give you a generous portion of rice with it. My only recommendation for this place would be to have a sign up that says where to pay. We sat for about 10 minutes waiting for a check but then ended up walking up front and paid there. We were just a little confused because no one said anything. read more

The place is really neat and cozy, I like the atmosphere, sometimes is kind of hard to park close to the restaurant, the staff is very friendly, I could probably give them a 4 if it wasn't that I have eaten in other thai places (Chanon Thai or Thai Thai Cuisine) that are way better than Thai Village, It is an OK place if the Thai Thai Cuisine is closed or if you don't want to drive all the way to SLC. The food is not bad, is just not the best. I would recommend it if you want to eat Thai food with a new date and care more for the atmosphere than the food, once you get to know the date you will probably take him/her to the Thai Thai Cuisine XD. read more

I don't like to be too hard on a local place, but I just can't give Thai Village a good review. If it were just called "Village," I might be more generous, but putting the word "Thai" in there is where the place falls short. Just so you know I'm serious: I very nearly dropped one star on them. Dish by dish: Som Tum: extreme lack of that piquant som tum flavor. Seemed almost watery. Not many tomatoes or green beans to break up the green papaya shreds. Not spicy at all. Truly disappointing. I had one of the wide-noodle dishes with beef. This was actually a decent plate. Not great, but ok; certainly did not satisfy my yearning for spiciness. Green curry: this was the straw that broke the camel's back. The curry had this weird, fake, almost preternatural green color. Like green beer on st. patrick's day. Almost like they had put food coloring in it. And the flavor set was just not right. Watery. It was a real chore eating it. Try Bangkok Grill in Orem instead, or, better still, head up to SLC to Chanon Thai or Tasty Thai. I will say that the interior of the restaurant has been nicely updated and its a pleasant place to eat. The prices are about what you'd expect and the service was fine. read more

I came in today at a friends recommendation during lunch hours. I was told they have a great lunch special. There was no seating available when we arrived.l and that it would be a 20 minute wait. We asked if we could order our lunch to go. The person at the register wasn't too friendly or accommodating. She seemed a little rude as well and not very attentive to what I was saying. They really don't have very good customer service here. The food looks and smells good though and I've heard good things about it but I have a really hard time dealing with bad service and for that reason probably wouldn't return. read more

I have been coming here for three or four years and generally like it. However this past time was pretty disappointing. It's almost like they didn't want us there. The waitress seemed disinterested and we had to keep asking for water. One time she spilled water all over our table and the floor and she didn't bother to clean it up! Wow! She barely made eye contact and sometimes didn't even finish her sentences. As you are probably aware, good food can make up for bad waitressing. Not today. Today the food was bland and uninspiring. It's like they forgot how to spice it or a few key ingredients. It was disappointing to see how little enthusiasm they had in their product. We always take our leftovers with us and tonight - bleh - we didn't even bother. This may be our last try with them. We will be going to the other Thai places in town from now on. read more

This is the most consistently good Thai food in Utah Valley (if you're coming for the curry). Probably a 3 star place elsewhere. Dined here at least a dozen times, gotten take out another dozen times. I've been for lunch and dinner. I have had all the curry dishes and a number of other popular dishes. To be honest, I don't really love any of their non-curry dishes. For people that... -Want to stick to the American Thai favorites (pad Thai, massaman curry, etc) -are looking for a good amount of food at a decent price (particularly their lunch special) -are Vegetarian. The meat here is pretty run of the mill Thai. My guess is that it's mass boiled and then added to dishes as an after fact. Not for people that... -want to get something exotic, new, or non-curry -want great tasting meat -are neat freaks. The restaurant isn't filthy but it isn't clean either. Being in an old retro-fitted house, you get the unique experience of using the restroom with the rusted bathtub still in tact, shower curtain and everything. read more

I have eaten a lot of Thai food, living in Los Angeles and Dallas, and traveling through many states. Comparing this restaurant to every other Thai restaurant I have eaten at, I would say that this place falls in the "C" rating. It's not bad, but definitely not authentic. For instance, I got the Pad Thai and was disappointed. There are definitely ingredients missing, compared to authentic Pad Thai. It is missing the complex flavors and almost had a BBQ flavor, which is extremely weird for Pad Thai. Next, the Chicken Satay was extremely greasy and was obviously deep fried. It was basically skinless KFC chicken on a skewer. I got Thai ice tea which was sweetened condensed milk with very little tea in a giant glass of ice. Barely any actual liquid in the glass and entirely too sweet. Lastly, the Massaman Curry was pretty good and the only redeeming factor. Overall, it was average at best. Favorite Thai place around. Huge portions for very fair prices. Always yummy and ready fairly quick. I usually go at odd hours, like between 1-4 so it's usually not that busy then, but the service is always great and they are good about making sure your drinks are topped off. read more

Ordered pad Thai and chicken basil to go. The pad Thai had no flavor at all. The chicken and basil awesome flavor. But the stems were still on the basil and didn't like that it was ground chicken. The inside feels weird and the chairs are uncomfortable. The house kind of smells or my food smelled weird and unappetizing. My green curry came out and it was a shocking green, like unappetizing. It was really thin and liquidy. The flavor was strong, so strong I could only eat half. The color, the weird smells I was getting, the strange and uncomfortable sitting area.... my husband and I have never left a restaurant so quickly, and we usually eat all our food. His massaman curry and my green curry were probably the worst we've ever had. I never thought you could go wrong with curry, but something was definitely off here.........I suggest going to Thai Thai cuisine down the street, adorable owner, cheaper, more comfortable, way tastier. read more

This place a fun to go to. The little house has a nice feel to it. The menu looks like a photo copy of every other Utah County Thai restaurant but that way you know what to expect I guess. The food came out about 5 minutes after we ordered. It was amazing. I am still baffled how they can make the dishes so quickly (the restaurant was busy at the time, too). I would go back again for sure. Although, I would probably just stick around in Orem or Provo unless I wanted to be impressed by the fast service again. i've been here before in the past and the food has always been just alright so i haven't gone in a long time, despite the fact that i love thai food and this place is pretty close to where i live. however, my family and i came here thursday afternoon and i was very pleased, it was like i was eating at a different place! i guess thai food is usually done better in big groups vs. just coming to dinner with my husband. usually we both just get the pad thai and call it a day and are just semi-satisfied, but not super impressed. but a few days ago, my little sister graduated high school and my siblings were all together. we just sat through a three hour graduation at byu and were ready to get the hell out of there and go eat. everywhere in orem/provo was pretty packed at 4:00 pm since there were high school graduations going on all day, so we drove closer to home to find someplace to eat, and found ourselves at thai village. the restaurant was basically empty so our party of 8 was seated right away. we decided to get some different entrees and split them all, i wasn't super excited at first since im not the biggest fan of curry, but i was super happy we got what we did! we got some chicken satay as an appetizer, which i never had before and was impressed with. for our entrees, we had two pad thais (one with chicken, one with shrimp) two masaman currys with chicken, one red curry with chicken and one rice and vegetable dish with shrimp. the curry and rice dishes were all great! i was shocked! the pad thai was even better than in the past, the sauce had some extra heat and spice to it. we all left satisfied. next time i go, i now know to go with a larger group and split different entrees vs. going with two people- the food was meant to be enjoyed that way! read more

I seem to constantly crave yellow Thai curry and Thai Village is a great place for it. They have a variety of authentic dishes and some interesting appetizers, too. It is close the all the shops, restaurants and movie theaters in AF/Lehi and is a great dinner option for a date night. I'll definitely be back to try some other curries and Thai dishes. read more

It's been awhile since we ate at Thai Village. Did something change? It tasted like something changed. First of all the Tom Yum is served in ordinary bowl now, the last time we were dining it it was served in an Thai porcelain dish with charcoal to heat it up. It likewise tasted a little sweet now. Same goes with the Pad Thai and the Chicken Red Curry. Did they change chef or something? Service is still excellent though, fast, courteous and helpful. read more

Not bad. Not great. I'm new to Utah Valley and was excited to try a new Thai restaurant. I went with friends and between the three of us we ordered four dishes to share. I wasn't very impressed with three of them! Luckily the Massaman didn't disappoint. The yellow curry was very bland, the pineapple curry didn't seem very fresh (canned pineapples perhaps), and the spicy noodles, which I assumed was their take on drunken noodles, was not at all what I was expecting in terms of flavor. I'd give Thai Village another try to be fair. Would be curious to see how their Pad Thai or Beef Waterfall tasted. The staff was nice and efficient. Never an empty water glass. read more

A friend called an order in for us. When so arrived their insanely small parking lot was full. People had to turn around and then park on the street. I have a neuromuscular disorder so I can't walk far. Walking a block to the restaurant killed me, then I had to climb steep steps, then wait outside in 30 degree weather, because the only benches to sit on are outside. Not handicap friendly. The food was fine and wait staff and hostess were fine, but I am pretty sure the building isn't up to code when it comes to disabilities. If are disabled skip this restaurant. Local Favorite. I have been to Thai Village multiple times over the years and will remain on my families eat out rotation. So what keeps us coming back. The restaurant is in an old Arts and Crafts home which is a far more enjoyable setting than many of the other Thai restaurants I have dined at which are in stripmalls. This is like many Thai restaurants I frequented which is family owned and run. The staff are very friendly and attentive. When the restaurant gets packed service and the kitchen can get slow but they always don't a great job getting your food to you hot. Thai Village is in American Fork in Utah county and has been toned down to the mac and cheese crowd which can't cope with anything that is at all spicy. The favors are come together wonderfully in their dishes but I always make a point to ask for the preparation to be made "hot" between med hot and extremely hot on at least a couple dishes. The pricing is reasonable and portions are generous. We always end up with enough leftovers for another meal or a few lunches. Order at either Red or Green Curry and Tom Kia Gi.
