Kao Soy
Andrea P.

This place is amazing. We were driving down hwy 6 and found this gem on a whim. Service was nice, our food came out in an orderly time. We ordered their spring rolls, coconut shrimp, and kao soy. All three dishes were amazing but by far my favorite was the kao soy. Everything from the curry to the noodles was amazingly delicious. I want to come back and try more! Highly recommend for some great thai food.

Pineapple Fried Rice

I'm absolutely obsessed with this restaurant! My mom and I discovered Thai Way 6 last month and have been there three times since. I always order the Khao Soi with chicken and she always gets the pineapple fried rice. And of course we get mango sticky rice for dessert. The sweetness and creaminess of the rice balances the brightness of the mango just right and the mango is always perfectly ripe. My second favorite Thai dish is pad woon sen so I might order that next time, to shake things up a bit. Can't wait to come again!

We love coming here! I usually get the Pra Ram Peanut sauce and Thai tea. They do have spicy levels on their dishes and I will say it's very spicy for me at a 3. Plus their portions are a great size where I can have a second meal at home with my dish. It's great service and nice atmosphere. I love the license plates on the wall.

Found this spot randomly on YELP! Its family owned and the food and service is absolutely spectacular!! I had the Pad Kee Mao with shrimp and I like it pretty spicy. It was perfect! My husband had the pineapple chicken fried rice. This location is small, quiet and tucked off so you may or may not see it if you're not looking for it. During lunch, your meal comes with a salad and of course the entree. We also had the chicken curry puffs as an appetizer! YUM!! I can see this place quickly becoming one of my favorites!! I can't wait to go back!!

The music is relaxing, the food is delicious and chef Charley will even come out to say hello. Nothing better than meeting the person that cooked your food. A no-brainer for my desire for Thai food, so authentic.

Delicious Thai restaurant! Friendly staff. Small restaurant with about 10 tables. The food came out hot and freshly prepared. I could've ordered more spicy options however it was still a yummy meal. I'd recommend and I look forward to going back.

Panang Curry

My oh my, I think I have found one of the best Thai restaurants in Houston! My friend wanted to check this place out as it was recommended to him. I was happy to oblige as Thai food is one of my favorites! We ordered yellow curry, tom yum, pad thai, and eggplant salad along with the sticky rice and mango. Wow! Everything was so tasty and flavorful! I really enjoyed the yellow curry! I loved how chunky it was loaded with veg and meat unlike other places. The eggplant salad was a nice surprise because I'm not a huge fan of eggplant, but this was really tasty. I love the little spice rack caddy to kick up the heat level of your dishes. The mango sticky rice was so so. The mango was sour and not tasty. I don't think it was in season at the time so I'll let it slide.

I stopped by this place before and it wasnt too bad. My food was a tad salty but it wasnt terrible. I went today for lunch and there was a lunch rush. I was seated and had to ask for the lunch menu. After waiting over 30 mins for my food, i told them to just pack it to go. I ordered beef panang. The beef was not tender at all. Definitely not worth paying extra for. The sauce was all over the place and the rice was mushy.

Pad See Ew

4.5/5 stars I love Thai Way 6 for their pad see ew! It's so flavorful and the texture of the noodles is perfect. I go back and forth between the medium and hot spice level depending on how I'm feeling. Their appetizers are also pretty good. I like the coconut shrimp. The pad thai is just ok. Service is good and fast.

Everything we got was delicious! We had amazing service, food was served promptly and the restaurant decor makes you feel like you're in Thailand despite all the US license plates on the walls. These dishes are a must; Roti Dip appetizer, Thai Basil with chicken, yellow curry, Tom Yum soup, and fried chicken wings. Highly recommended!!!!

Drunken Noodles / Pad Kee Mao

Stopped in Saturday night after looking up Thai Food restaurants near me and I can say I was pleasantly surprised. They weren't too busy besides a family and two couples it was just me and my sister. The waitresses were very nice. The decor inside is very cute. My sister and I both had their drunken noodles, the flavor was really good. The noodles were a tad bit too soft though. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice, it was so good and not too sweet. I would definitely recommend stopping in for some Thai food.

My cousin had recommended this place to me when he was visiting from out of town. So I had to check it out. It's located in the same parking lot as Kroger and the former Studio Movie Grill. Parking is a non-issue and makes this place a great visit if you are in the area. I asked if the food is spicy so I can could order either mild or medium and was told that it was spicy so went with mild. I could've easily handled the medium because I was adding all the spicy things that they had to offer on the table. I started wit the tom yum soup with chicken. Very fragrant and flavorful. Got the chicken in yellow curry which comes with white rice. While this had a balanced flavor profile, I did wish that it was a bit spicier. The other dishes that we had were the pad thai and the eggplant salad. Because I always have the papaya salad, I decided to switch things up with the eggplant salad. Once again, it was very mild. The pad thai was the star of the show. I think I could have eaten the whole thing if the portions weren't so massive. Rounding up to four stars because the portions are massive.

It's a small and cozy place that can get packed around peak hours. I got the beef curry udon with a side of tonkatsu. The tonkatsu was tender and crunchy and made an excellent addition to the soft and creamy udon. The curry was one of my favorites I've tried so far, a generous, flavorful helping that wasn't overly salty or spicy. They also gave a good amount of tender sliced beef as well. Not many restaurants in Houston offer Takowasa, which is marinated raw octopus with wasabi; and when we find one that does, it's our must order for appetizers. We also ordered the chicken karaage and agedashi tofu. The karaage was juicy and slightly larger than the size of popcorn chicken. The tofu was soft and lightly battered, however the downside is that it gets soggy quickly since it's sitting in the sauce rather than on the side. For our entrees, we got the carbonara, curry tonkatsu rice, niku tama ankake, and kakuni udon. The carbonara was nice and creamy. The curry rice tastes exactly like the Japanese box curry. The niku tama is more of a thicker soup base similar to egg drop soup, however has a more slightly sweet umami flavor. The kakuni udon had a lighter broth with braised pork belly. The service was a bit slow here, but we didn't mind it too much. The interior had a cute traditional Japanese style decor. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and we'll be back to try other udons.

Wow! Just... wow…read more Loved this place from the moment I walked in! Ambiance was super fun and welcoming. The tubs of ice filled with cold drinks all around as you approach the counter was casual and fun. And the staff was welcoming and friendly. The menu had so much variety, without being overwhelming. The pork was seasoned well and had good flavor from the marinade. The cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeno, all were so fresh and vibrant! And I was able to get homemade chips and fresh strawberries as my side - such a refreshing bite the strawberries after a rich, porky, spicy bite from the sandwich. Can't say enough good! A big part of the decades long success at Local Foods has been their commitment to consistency…read more Their casual setting with excellent service is one thing, but quality executed food that is simple and seasonal will always go a long way. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.
