This has to be one of the best place to get Thai food. The portion is perfect! The service is amazing. We also order the drunk noodles I think that's what it's call, the pho, fry rice, and shrimp tom yum soup. The price is kinda too pricey but it's worth it.

Red curry is my test at any Thai restaurant. I love it! I ordered red curry pork. The curry was delicious. The veggies great but the pork was extremely tough. Very disappointing. The lunch also came with sticky rice and veggie egg roll. The egg roll was mostly potato. Not interesting to me. The sticky rice was spot on. I'll try this restaurant again though. Very clean, service great.

I had stopped by to pick up some dinner. When I was leaving my front bumper got caught on the parking curb and I didn't realize it when I parked initially, leading to my bumper getting torn off completely (don't judge me lol). I had gone back inside and asked if I could get some help. I felt bad because it was kind of busy. The owner Wilson came out and helped me get it and attempt to get it in my car but ultimately it didn't fit. He reassured me it seemed to be an easy fix and what I would need to get it back together. My husband ended up coming with a bigger car to get the front bumper and bringing it home. I'm so grateful for Wilson for taking time and not making me feel like a bother even though it was busy and my problem wasn't his problem but he came to help without any hesitation. When I got home the food was all still hot after all of the delay. I ordered over $120 worth of food and it was all delicious. The red curry I added potatoes to it was my favorite. But what made my experience even better this time is Wilson's kindness and comfort. I will always support this business because you get great tasty food and you're supporting a genuinely great family business. Thank you Wilson.

My go to Thai place around here. Pineapple curry and their pad kee mao is a fire combo that can't be beat. Service is always friendly and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just a simple and clean no frills Thai place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Thai Wok and Cafe is amazing. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly. I've tried a number of dishes here. All of them were very good. I've tried Pad Thai, Crab Fried Rice, Chicken Satay, Tom Kha, Papaya Salad, and Pad See Ew. Normally, I have at least one dish that I always order. I don't have a favorite here - it's all good! The flavors are authentic and well balanced. The staff is friendly and they take a lot of pride in their food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is always clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love coming here and can't wait for my next trip.

This is one of my favorite quick-and-easy Thai places! We ordered our food for pick up. The lady was very nice on the phone and it wasn't hard at all to place it. When we walked into the establishment, there were a few people there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment was calm and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking was easy to find up front. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of open seats.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the pad Thai, drunken noodles, and pad see ew for entrees. Each was delicious! Additionally, the food had to have just been cooked because when we got the food it was freshly hot, which was a very pleasant experience. For the Pad See Ew combination, some of the shrimps were weirdly small, so it made it hard to remove the tails from them. But outside of that, everything was perfect. The chicken wings are always my favorites. They are crispy and sweet, and very well cooked. The fried tofu was also cooked to perfection, just the right amount of crispiness! The sauce that comes with it is also DELISH! The banana samosas were a wonderful alternative to their mango sticky rice which is served in the summer. The samosas were beautifully wrapped and fried to a perfect crisp. I was worried the chocolate sauce would be too overpowering but it was perfect! Definitely does taste like a crispy banana with some hints of chocolate, nothing too sweet or too crazy, just right.

Yes, yes, and yes. Tonight we tried the Thai Papa Salad, Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Satay and the Crab Fried Rice. Everything was wonderful. The papaya salad was the perfect blend of crunchy and tart and spicy. The dressing used was perfect. The salad had the perfect amount of heat. The chicken pad Thai was so good. Our sat on the table for a little while because we were all talking, but no matter how long it's sit the noodles were perfect. The texture did not change. The coconut soup was so good. That was my first time having it and the entire time I was eating it I kept thinking I would definitely have that again. The crab fried rice was filled with chunks of crab. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean, the staff was so nice, the shift came out to say hi to everyone. He was so nice and is truly talented when it comes to cooking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restrooms were clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was very attentive and answered all of our questions. I will 100% be going again in the very near future. There is so many more things I would love to try on the menu especially their milk teas.

I was here last night with the Yelp event and had to come back to order more for my family. I got an order of the crab fried rice which I had tried last night and loved the real crab meat and flavor. Wished it had a few more veggies in it. I also ordered chicken fried rice which had a nice portion of meat in it. Chicken green Curry was a medium spice and I thought that was perfect. The chicken and veggie amounts were perfect. And the last thing I ordered was the Panang Chicken Curry, Mild which to me is a little similar in taste as the green curry and was also very delicious. My parents were pretty happy with the choices. I'll have to get some Pad Thai and try some items with Tofu. Maybe next week!

Thai Wok & Cafe is the perfect casual spot to get Thai food in west Fresno. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a spacious interior with plenty of seating (and it's always clean), everything is made-to-order, and the staff themselves are really nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered their Pad Thai with beef, and I've also had the chance to try their crispy pork belly appetizer and strawberry green tea with lychee jelly. The Pad Thai with beef was fantastic, and hit all the right flavor notes. Juicy, hearty beef topping perfectly-chewy rice noodles in a slighty sweet and salty sauce. The crispy pork belly was delicious - I'm not sure what the green sauce they serve it with is, I think it's some sort of chili sauce, but that just added everything that the pork belly needed. It was a little plain by itself, but still good. The strawberry green tea was really the cherry (or I should say, "strawberry") on top. One of the managers, Wilson, told me they actually use a sugarcane-based syrup, and that really made a difference. It tasted a lot less artificial, and I honestly crave it a lot despite living across town. (Got to try their passion fruit tea later!) I got to chat with some of the other staff, and they are kind and take good care of their patrons. I wish this place all the success - they are a great addition to the west Fresno food scene!

First of all, the service was wonderful. The owner was genuine and we even saw his cousin who was the chef. The staff were so generous and accommodating too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also really liked all the cool Halloween decorations![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was absolutely amazing. Thai tea was the perfect welcome drink. Always a favorite! Then I had chicken satay which had a smoky flavor with a hint of mint taste. The papaya salad was fresh and bright with a lime dressing (very refreshing to eat!). Then I had Tom Kha which had a satisfying coconut flavor with sourness from lime I think. It had shrimp, mushroom, and tomato wedges in it that gave it such a unique flavor profile. I really want to go back and eat that again. The pad Thai noodles were my favorite! The noodles were chewy and delicious. The flavor was spot on. The fried rice was also really good. The portion sizes were impressive. I finished the feast with strawberry green tea. It tasted freshly made because the fruit tea taste was the perfect finish to the incredible meal.

We came in at 5 pm and the place was empty. We were greeted right when we walked in, seated and provided a menu. Our server was really sweet and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and spacious. It had a lot of natural lighting which was good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were so many dishes we wanted to try but didn't want to over order. We ended up ordering their fried tofu, Beef salad, beef padseeew, and the Thai chicken wings. Everything came out at a timely manner. Fried Tofu - 2.5/5 - Needs more flavoring. Maybe a dash of salt and pepper would've done it. For the sauce, there was a very strong vinegar taste. I would've preferred it with just the sweet and sour sauce. Beef salad - 4/5 The dish was very good. There just were too much onions for my liking. Once you get to the bottom of the dish, the sauce becomes very overpowering and salty. Thai Chicken Wing - 5/5 - this dish came out crispy with the right amount of sauce and flavoring. The chicken itself was still moist. Beef PadSeeEw- 4/5 - This dish came out last. It was good but needed a bit more flavoring. We loved that you can taste the "char" in the dish since most places here in fresno, you can't. We like our PadSeeEw with a bit of spice so we requested for some chili flakes. They brought us their trays of spice and vinegar.

    Tofu Pad Thai
    Michelle C.

I really wanted to enjoy the tofu Pad Thai here, but unfortunately, it missed the mark for me. The flavor was unbalanced - way too tangy and overly sweet, which overpowered any of the traditional savory elements you'd expect from Pad Thai. On top of that, it was excessively peanut buttery. I usually prefer a more subtle peanut undertone, but this tasted like straight-up liquid peanut butter, which made the entire dish feel heavy and one-dimensional. The tofu itself was disappointingly plain, with no real seasoning or sear to help it stand out. It felt more like they tossed the tofu in afterwards because it did not taste like it had any sauce nor seasoning on it. Overall, the execution just didn't come together for me. If you're into strong peanut sauces and don't mind a sweeter, tangier twist, you might enjoy it though! Service was average and very casual ambiance.

Ordered: -Chicken Pad Thai -Thai Wings My husband & I stumbled across this restaurant as we were in the area. It was a lucky find & very fulfilling experience. The Thai Wings were a delicious appetizer. It was crunchy, flavorful, & moist. It was cooked fresh & generously tossed in the sauce. The Chicken Pad Thai was tasty & savory. It didn't have anything special that stood out about it, but it definitely hits the spot when you're craving some Pad Thai. The portion was big enough to share between 2 people, along with the appetizer. Overall, I would return to try more items from their menu!

Idk. *shrugs* This time we got: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Se-Ew (beef), Yellow Curry (chicken), and Thai Style Papaya Salad for dinner. We each had a different favorite dish out of the three entrees... Pad Se-Ew was mine (noodle head), followed by the Pad Kra Pao (perfect flavor, not too strong on the basil, egg fried just right), then the curry last (I prefer green or red more). The salad was good, refreshing. No spice whatsoever, but we knew that (one of the girls can't handle as much spice). The winner of our dinner? The Thai Tea Flight! I love the option of flights anywhere I go. It gives you the chance to try all the flavors you're curious about without committing to one that you may or may not like. Man... these were amazing. If I had to rank the flavors-- it was a toss-up between the Original Thai Tea and the Ube but since this is the battle of the Thai Teas... the OG gets a slight edge. Both freaking amazing though (we ordered full sizes of these after). Obviously Thai Iced Coffee comes next but coffee should be it's own category. It wins on its own as coffee. The Green Thai Tea came in last for all 3 of us, I believe. It's good, just not as good as the other three... and it's definitely more fragrant? Idk the right word for it. Anyway, I'd make more stops here just for these drinks alone now that i know how good they are. Staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Restaurant still very aesthetic. Their plating of the meals? We got there around 11:30 AM, and it wasn't busy at all, which was a huge plus! We got seated right away, and our server was super sweet and answered all of our questions. We started with the Thai tea, and I'm so glad we did because it was SO good! It was refreshing, and I'd definitely order it again. I ordered the Lunch Combo Special ($19), which came with two veggie egg rolls, Pad Thai, Panang chicken curry, and your choice of potato soup or salad. I went with the potato soup. It came with half of a potato in a broth, and honestly, it was way better than I expected! It had a lot of flavor. I thought you got a lot of food for the price. The veggie egg rolls were nice and crunchy, and the Pad Thai was really good, especially since it was my first time trying it. My favorite part was definitely the Panang chicken curry. It had so much flavor, and I'd absolutely order it again. Overall, this is such a good lunch spot! The food was really good, the portions were great, and everyone was so nice and helpful. My friend has also ordered their lunch to go before and said they still give you a lot of food, so that's good to know too. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend stopping by for lunch. Another authentic Thai restaurant in Madera serving excellent Thai dishes to satisfy your appetite…read more You can spice up your dish from mild to spicy Thai hot. A small restaurant that has service and a fairly large menu. The dining area is comfortable and has ample seating for a small crowd.

**Review from 2024 .......... Added here from previous trip**…read more So finally tried Thai Basil. Here is my honest review.... I am sooo glad we have something different in Madera. With that said here we go... Service.. service was super slow for an empty Sunday night. The young lady taking orders had no clue what sauces were on the dishes, had no clue what the ingredients were, she couldn't explain anything, she read the description on the menu back to me. She stated she had not had most dishes there. Her description of the cucumber salad was it's cucumber in a clear watery sauce.. ‍ I'm happy she was there to take our orders and she was nice. Presentation.. Presentation was quite nice for Madera! It was nice to see simple, yet pretty playing! The curry soup.. the flavors were quite muted for Thai food IMO. It was a good difference in texture having it topped with wontons. We ordered it medium spicy as well, which was great. The spicy pork flat noodle dish had great heat at medium spice level, wish I would have gone hot, since I like things SPICY . The texture of the pork was quite tough since they used a leaner cut of meat which was ok. I was surprised at the amount of meat on the plate for a noodle dish. Speaking of noodles they were almost sprinkled in in super small pieces, but the texture was on point. We wished there were more noodles. The broccoli seemed out of place I wish there was more Chinese broccoli which was cooked to perfection!!! The cucumber salad was delicious!!! We both stated we wished the onions weren't three inches long. I will definitely be making this at home! It would be a perfect pairing to grilled chicken or shrimp for a nice summer dinner!! We loved it!!! Saltiness of the food.. I think of Thai as having a few key flavors and the dishes are definitely on the saltier side, this was lacking salt, butttttt I prefer more salt than most people so not a true fair assessment. I was surprised there weren't any sauces on the table. Design and lay out.. it was very small inside but they did well with the space allotted and I loved the decor. The place needs a good dusting, we sat next to the wall and the wood was white with dust directly over the table. Overall it was a great meal considering I didn't have to cook, the plating was lovely, and it was something different for Madera! I wish them well!!! I'm happy they are here!!! Buttttttttt so far Coconut Cafe in Merced has a strong hold on our heart!! I can't wait to go back and try the Larb and the Pad Thai!

Love the tamarind flavor with an ample amount of chicken. I appreciate that it wasn't just noodles with a skimpy portion of protein. If I had a gripe it would be to add more crushed peanuts as there was barely any. They offer various Thai and Lao dishes here and they have tofu as a protein choice. Keep in mind this not Vietnamese so no pho menu. They have can sodas only. Clean bathroom and friendly service. Glad to see a good Thai/Lao establishment on this side of town!

We have tried and liked the spring rolls, crispy chicken dumplings, drunken noodles and soups but I can't remember which. I feel like it doesn't matter, it's going to be good. I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu. It's in a strip mall so parking is not a problem. The restaurant, including bathroom is clean when we eat in, although it can get a little messy when busy. When you enter, you order at the back counter and then seat yourself. There is just one person taking orders, delivering food and bussing tables. Service has been friendly and efficient. Highly recommend

There were several individual tables. They were also accommodating a large group while we were there. Several to go orders were also being picked up throughout our dinner. I ordered fresh spring rolls that came with two dipping sauces; a traditional peanut sauce and a vinaigrette. Both were delicious. My husband decided to order something he had never tried before, a pork noodle dish called Lad Na. Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend. Finished up with sweet sticky rice with mango. Everything was fresh, and craveable.

I was recommended by a colleague to stop at Gem of Thailand but I have been here before it's just been a super long time. Because of how you have to get in the shopping area for Gem of Thailand it's literally in the back and the back in the back of the shopping area smaller place nearby Costco. Myself preferably I like going to places that are accessible to enter not difficult. We enjoy the food the prices were reasonable. The staff was super helpful to assist me even offered me a glass of water while I was waiting for my takeout. Check out Gem of Thailand located off of North Abbey.

The spice is everything and will heal the worst of ailments. I'm pretty sure it could cure whatever the next pandemic is. They have a large variety of noodles here, pho, thai boat noodles, khao soy, khao poon, and also tons of other thai /cambodian / lao choices. We got a thai boat noodle, khao soy, and pork belly to share. The thai boat noodle and khao soy are delicious. It was my first time ordering khao soy I thought khao soy was a curry based dish, but my noodles were a pork based broth, still yummy though! The pork belly here is huge and served hot and super crispy, miles better than any other pork belly I've tried. The thai tea had an off putting flavor, like they had made it with soy mik? instead of condensed evaporated milk? Total was $83 after tax and tip, this place is pretty hole in the wall but even hole in the wall places have to charge more now to keep up with inflation. Great fast service !
