Came in and it was packed for a Friday night. Not the best part of town at night. Great price for the portions. It took awhile to get our food and orders in but we weren't in a rush and it was really busy. Kind waitress. It was just her so she was very busy. She was working really hard and was very friendly and sweet. Great customer service. I'm glad I came to check it out. I've been hearing such great reviews. It was good. We ordered crispy pork belly, chicken chow mein, papaya salad (thai and lao style) and drunken noodles. I can only rate my review based on the drunken noodles and papaya salad. They're vegetarian friendly. I felt their lao style som tum was more flavorful but not as potent as Laos style tum. The thai style was light and flavorful. I generally prefer Thai style, but in this case I preferred the Lao style as it had more flavor. I have a high tolerance for spicy foods. I asked for papaya salad EXTRA spicy and it was spicy, yet I could have handled more heat. But then again, my heat levels are call 911, make it burn, fire booty levels, lol. I would recommend having the papaya salads come out first before the main entrees. I'm interested to try more entrees in the future. Friends really like the thai tea. I also got to try the matcha tea milk tea on the house for our wait. It was really good and had a sweet smooth sweetness at the end like thai milk tea. Everything was good overall. Come try for yourself and support this local family owned spot.

U-D Thai is a south of Shaw gem with its authentic, mouth watering Thai dishes, served by friendly staff at an incredibly reasonable price! We ordered the pineapple fried rice, pad Thai, Panang curry, vege egg rolls and crab ragoon. Every dish was DELICIOUS. My only regret is not asking for more of the flavor-packed sauce that accompanied the egg rolls. The panang curry had a nice kick and not overly spicy at the mild spice level; I would recommend medium if you know how to handle your heat. The restaurant had plenty of seating, including a large table for a larger party and was impressively clean. Our total bill was $56 and fed the 4 of us well! We look forward to many more meals at U-D Thai!

Cute little neighborhood Thai place. The flavors were really good and pretty close to authentic. The Tom Yum didn't look anything like a traditional Tom yum soup. It had more traditional veggies like red onion and tomato as opposed to Thai veggies and the broth was definitely tomato based but it tasted good and the extra veggies actually gave it a good flavor. The drunken noodles were pretty flavorful and medium spicy was on point. The pad Thai looked good and fresh but they didn't add peanuts or could have used more peanut sauce but still very fresh and flavorful. We were genuinely pleased with the mi. The wait staff was attentive and kind. A good place to dine in or take out.

Placed a pick up order of chicken pad Thai and Thai tea over the phone. Arrived at the restaurant and picked up my food to go. The Thai tea was a 6.5/10 for me. Too sweet for my taste. The pad Thai was a 6.5/10 for me. Chicken tasted unseasoned, noodles were okay, the sauce was okay but it felt like it was missing something.

The food has definitely changed with the new ownership and unfortunately not for the good. Recently ordered pho and it was very plain and bland. No flavor. Hardly any meat too. I'm so sad the owners sold.

First and last time I will order from this store. The pho was the blandest pho I've tasted in my life. The broth was clear which I thought was great until I ate it. It was just water with a bit of oil. I had to add a whole bunch of hoisin sauce, fish sauce and chili oil to actually taste anything. Disgusting. Instant pho in a package tasted better. The papaya salad was ok BUT there was literally no juice/sauce. It was sour which I liked but DRY because no sauce! So it was a fail too! The Thai fish cake was not good. I bit into a scale that they didn't remove. Overall, last time I will ever eat here.

I've been here a couple of times now and the Thai food here is one of the best in Fresno and definitely the best in this area in town in my opinion. I ordered takeout and each time the estimate for 2-3 dishes I ordered was 15-20 minutes. I have ordered the Panang curry, pineapple fried rice, and pad Thai. At first I thought it was odd that there was no yellow curry on the menu but the Panang curry is similar to yellow curry and is a little sweet with the standard veggies including carrots and potatoes. The chicken in the curry was marinated well and finely chopped. I loved that it came with a side of rice without having to buy it separately. The pineapple fried rice was also nicely flavored with the hint of curry, cashews, and veggies and pineapple. I think my least favorite dish was the egg rolls, which had a bit of an off taste and I'm not sure I would order it again. The tofu pad Thai, which I think was on the drier side l, could have used more sauce but the base was still flavorful. The tofu was not too hard and had good flavor. The prices here are great and the food even more so. Overall I am very happy this place has opened up on this side of town and hope that it does well!

My favorite Thai restaurant in Fresno! Food is great. I love their pad thai. It's the perfect balance of salty, savory, sour, and sweet. I've also tried their pad kee mao and pork belly (a bit dry and tough by still good). The noodles they use have a great texture/chew. Service is always friendly and prompt. Prices are also very reasonable.

10/17/23 Getting lunch! Veggie Drunken Noodle combo ordered with tofu & chicken. Made spicy. One order of shrimp spring rolls ordered too. The worker was kind and said it would be ready in 15 min with appreciation for making the order. I went to get it shortly later. Greeted and order was ready. I paid for it and wished well! Restaurant is safe & clean. Calm, nice environment! Lunchtime! Order split. Veggie drunken noodles with tofu & chicken was Really delicious with Great, spicy flavor! Shrimp spring rolls was fresh & tasty too! Delicious peanut sauce with it! Mother said hers was Great! Fresh & spicy! Reasonably priced too! Great service and delicious, Great lunch! Highly recommended!

This place is a hidden Gem and a must try! Do not hesitate to come to this restaurant because of the location. It might look scary on the outside but it is nice and clean on the inside. Their staff and service is excellent! Their food is delicious!!!! (DROOLS) We've ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Kai Jeow (Thai Style Omelet), Moo Krob (Fried Pork belly), Pork Pad Kra Pao and Chicken Red Curry. We made everything spicy.

Food, PRICE, service, experience. Check, check, check & check. The prices here are unbeatable and there's no sacrifice to the quality, taste, or proportions. We visited on Sunday which coincided with the last day of the fair so traffic was heavier than usual. In light of that, the restaurant was easy to find and parking was plentiful. The restaurant is located in small strip of about 6 business, sandwiched between a laundromat on the west, a liquor store on the east, and faces the fairgrounds to the south.. It's best to head west down King's Canyon/Cesar Chavez (from Maple going towards downtown)) and the restaurant will be on the right, a couple of buildings before the McDonalds. We were extremely pleased with our overall experience. The food was delicious & fresh. Service was quick, & attentive. Our food came out surprisingly fast and all 5 dishes we ordered were fresh, well proportioned, and very tasty & satisfying. My wife and mother-in-law are both Thai (mother-in-law is Isaan). Both are very critical of Thai food and both gave their stamp of approval, They said everything was good, authentic and met their standards of what they expect in real Thai food. My mother-in-law in particular fell in love with the papaya salad and had to order extra to take home. The food, the service, the price,...everything was on point. This is a definite try for those who love Thai or anyone wanting to venture out and try something new. They specialize in Isaan Thai dishes & flavors but also serve the traditional Thai dishes we all have come to love. And don't let the location deter you. The restaurant is small, cozy, and clean.and run from by a sweet Thai family that has put their heart & soul into offering Fresno a true, authentic Thai food at an extremely reasonable price. Don't miss out & give it a try!. You won't be disappointed.

This place is such a gem! My husband and I love Thai food! We were up from San Diego, visiting Fresno for a bit and wanted to have Thai for lunch. U-D Thai did not disappoint. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. She gave us recommendations and kept checking to make sure we didn't need anything. The food was delicious. I had the Pad Se Ew and my husband got the pad Thai. The chicken was moist unlike some places where it's dry and chewy. We also got crab rangoons which were good, and because the prices were so good we also got some spring rolls and egg rolls to go. Both of which were really good a few hours later for a snack! If we come back to Fresno we will definitely be stopping here again!

Idk. *shrugs* This time we got: Pad Kra Pao, Pad Se-Ew (beef), Yellow Curry (chicken), and Thai Style Papaya Salad for dinner. We each had a different favorite dish out of the three entrees... Pad Se-Ew was mine (noodle head), followed by the Pad Kra Pao (perfect flavor, not too strong on the basil, egg fried just right), then the curry last (I prefer green or red more). The salad was good, refreshing. No spice whatsoever, but we knew that (one of the girls can't handle as much spice). The winner of our dinner? The Thai Tea Flight! I love the option of flights anywhere I go. It gives you the chance to try all the flavors you're curious about without committing to one that you may or may not like. Man... these were amazing. If I had to rank the flavors-- it was a toss-up between the Original Thai Tea and the Ube but since this is the battle of the Thai Teas... the OG gets a slight edge. Both freaking amazing though (we ordered full sizes of these after). Obviously Thai Iced Coffee comes next but coffee should be it's own category. It wins on its own as coffee. The Green Thai Tea came in last for all 3 of us, I believe. It's good, just not as good as the other three... and it's definitely more fragrant? Idk the right word for it. Anyway, I'd make more stops here just for these drinks alone now that i know how good they are. Staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Restaurant still very aesthetic. Their plating of the meals? A+. It was a very good dinner.
