Had dinner here after a walk in Central Park while on vacation. Arrived around 5:30pm on a Tuesday and we got a seat with no problem. The place filled up within 45 minutes after we arrived. We ordered three dishes for the family (me, my wife and younger daughter). The dishes were Pad Thai, Drunken Noodle, Red Curry and an order of Spring Rolls. They were also able to prepare the meals gluten free. We waited a little bit and the other tables seemed to get their food well before us but we weren't in a rush. Everything was excellent and portions were on par with what we expected. The cost was also in the typical range. The server was super nice and the place has a great vibe. They also offer a full bar. We were looking for a thai place near the AMC Lincoln Square theatre and found this little gem. The decor inside is so cute and we only had to wait ~10 minutes on a Friday night! The menu has a bunch of options - noodles, rice, curries, duck, etc. They also have photos of the food options (some of them) which made it harder for us to choose what to get! In the end, we opted for the fried calamari appetizer. This was just okay because even though it was fresh, it wasn't as crispy as we would've liked. We overlooked this because the entrees we got were amazing! We got the green curry with pork (amazing with all of the veggies and the curry sauce was great to dip with the extra roti we asked for), as well as the duck drunken noodles. Came here after watching Avengers Endgame (3 hours long) at AMC Lincoln Square, so we were starved and needed a drink to cure our post-movie blues. When we told the hostess we were a party​ of 3 she asked if we had reservations, no, and then said she could seat us if we would be finished before the hour was up. She was polite about it, but it was just an odd thing to shave said. I get that there were probably a lot of reservations (we were eating around 5pm, so it was early), but how long do 3 people generally take to eat? My dinnermates ordered some apps which I, trying to be super healthy in my eating at the current time, gracefully did not chow down on. They seemed to be very happy with it. I ordered a white wine spritzer, the waiter didn't know what that meant but he was kind and able to fulfill it. I also ordered the grilled salmon fillet, it comes with spinach and rice, didn't know about the rice part. The salmon was delicious and even the skin, which I don't avoid but don't seek out eating, was delectable. Had a great crunch to it. Lovely neighborhood restaurant. Came for an early dinner around 5pm when they opened and had our pick of tables, inside or outside. Food was good - not the best Thai in the city, but good enough to return if I'm in the neighborhood. Portions were sufficient, but not overly generous. Service was friendly, excellent and quick. It was a warm sunny day, so we opted to sit outside. After going to UpThai and Thep Thai on the UES being a bit disappointed in their outdoor dining situation, my girlfriend and I trekked to the UWS to Thai72, a cute little Thai place near her that she likes. They do not have those cabins that are basically a makeshift of indoor dining, which was quite nice. Instead they have a couple of heating lamps which we honestly prefer. We both ordered the drunken noodles (basic bitches for life) and it was pretty good. I always dump the chili oil that they have on it and it magically becomes 10 times better, at least in my mind. All in all, I hope that business is going well at Thai72 and am glad they're doing outdoor dining correctly unlike some other Thai places around the area. read more

To the management of this place-- if you have too many reservations and need the tables turned fast, perhaps you like to inform the dinner party the span of time you intent to allow for their meal, so that they can make the choice to sit and shove the food down their throats while your hostesses try to rush them out the door. We were a party of four and a toddler, who called to make a reservation at 5:15pm yesterday. Nearly a $200 meal to which they included tip- why? Perhaps, because they thought quite rightly, that their rushing us out, would not sit well with us. Did I mention, we were a party of four and a sleeping baby? We ordered soups to start, but they brought our appetizers and meals before we could even finished the soups, our meals were cold by the time we were able to eat them. Despite the fact the waitress had said she would send the food in stages. And the waitress was actually attentive despite her rushing our food out, but the hostesses were just simply annoying, hovering around our table rushing us, not too mention the attitude of the girl at the front desk, on her phone acting all entitled- the owner's family no doubt. Regardless, food here is nothing to rave about- chef might want to rethink the amount of sugar in the Phat Thai dish, wayyy to sweet- this place was just convenient for us since my sister, who, we were visiting lives down the block. AMAZING. I came here yesterday with my mom for a quick meal and we ended up falling in love with this place! They are taking good measures during these COVID times both indoors and outdoors. The staff is super friendly, patient and helpful which I really appreciated. We loved that their menu is super visual- every plate is shown, so you know exactly what you're going to get. Tried the Green Spring Vegetables dish with tofu which was an average sauteed vegetables dish, no special flavor. When people think Thai food, I hope they don't consider this typical or even authentic Thai. Staff is Thai and unfortunately a number of Thai restaurants in Manhattan fall into this category of generic Westernized Thai. New Years Dinner at Thai72! Fortunately, there was no line and our party of 3 were seated within 5 minutes. Instead of individually ordering 3 pad thai, we decided to go family-style since it was our first time here. We decided to order 3 common dishes. Thai Fried Rice "Kao Obb Bkk" (15), Shrimp Pad Thai (15), and Massaman Curry (13). The Kao Obb Bkk was delicious partially because it was sauteed with a heavy amount of this sweet and tangy sauce, and partially because it had a generous portion of chicken and seafood (shrimp/scallops). It comes in a clay pot, which keeps the food warm. The Shrimp pad thai was good but the portion was a tad bit smaller than other Thai restaurants. This was my impression perhaps because I was hungry, but take a look at the pictures to verify! One interesting thing about Thai72 is that their pad thai noodles are slightly more al dente and chewy than other restaurants. I think that makes it taste better! Finally, the Massaman Curry is your standard chicken, onions, and potatoes in this amazing curry with coconut milk. We did not get ours spicy this time and it tasted just as good as any other massaman curry I've had in the past. Also, the menu looked amazing and had a good selection of "signature" dishes that I definitely plan to get next time - Duck Tamarind, Rack of Lamb, Chilean Sea Bass. For a great New Years' dinner experience in the City at a restaurant with excellent service and food, this will be a place I remember to revisit. read more

Food-wise, we had the emerald vegetables dumplings, the king crab rangoon, the roti canai, the green curry, and the seafood tom yum pad thai. Have been meaning to head to this neighborhood location for a few months and finally hit it!! Pleasantly surprised and will absolutely be returning. Had a reservation and warmly greeted. The restaurant was full and diners all happy. This place was pretty good! I wasn't blown away by any of the dishes but I really love the restaurant itself. The decor was nice and it is a cute spot for a date or a couple friends. I am used to Thai places having chilies at the table to allow you to make the food a little spicier which I like. We got the fresh spring roll, calamari and the drunken noodles. The fresh spring roll was mostly iceberg lettuce but the dipping sauce they had for it was great, just wish they could have had a spicy sauce for it as well. The calamari was delicious, but that also could have had a more exciting sauce. I feel like you can never go wrong with drunken noodles, and we certainly didn't here. What a lovely Thai option for the neighborhood. It feels like you stepped into a Thai fantasy world. I mean, there's a frickin water wheel in the back. The menu is gorgeous, along with the menu texture (the little things). The actual food itself isn't any different from other Thai restaurants, so don't put too much hope into having a new experience. But the atmosphere and photos makes you really wanna explore. I ordered the fried calamari and the Beef Pad See Ew, and I'd hate to say this, but it was under seasoned. It was seasoned in the sense that in Thailand they don't use as much salt and pepper as Westerners do, so if that was what they were going for: respect. Otherwise, the bites were bland. This restaurant really is less about the food and more about relaxing on a Friday night. Cute little neighborhood restaurant on the Upper West Side with no frills but just simply great food. Thai food is always tricky I usually find it a little overwhelming and spicy but this restaurant struck the perfect balance between flavor and subtlety. The lunch deal is very good, it comes with dumpling or spring rolls, soup or salad and a very generous main course. The dumplings were the pick of the dishes and the clear soup was just lovely.
