It gives the impression of being small but it's long with tables & chairs along the wall, a small bar in the back, soft lighting & tasteful modern decor. You get to choose an appetizer and entree. We got the spring rolls and the chicken wraps and both were fine but the portion size is very very small. The entree we tried the chicken curry and drunken noodles with medium spicy and the spice is no joke. I love spicy food and I've never been to a place who was serious about their spice scale so beware. Other than that the portion was pretty small and it was fine. The place was pretty nice; I'd recommend for a date spot (most of the patrons in the restaurant were couples). While the food is fairly priced, it's not exactly cheap. Most dishes were around $17-20 without tip and tax. Tables are plentiful (about a dozen tables for 2 people including outdoor dining). My go-to for Thai restaurants is pad see ew, and while Land's is quite good, I'll say it's on the sweeter side. I personally like sweet-savory, and prefer pad see ew like that, but just be aware that it tastes like they added an extra spoonful of brown sugar to that dish. It also has a bit of a sauce to it, and the noodles were thin, round ones, which I'm not used to. The drunken chicken noodles were tasty. I think "medium" spice is perfect for this dish (you can adjust your spice level). Definitely try the Thai iced tea. Yes, I'm basic. But it's not over saturated or overly sweet, nor does it taste like water. Overall, I'd go back, although I do wish it was a bit less expensive. read more

This Thai food won't change your life, but it's good enough, and sometimes that's honestly all you need. ESPECIALLY when they're one of the rare places that have weekend lunch specials. I loved the crispiness of the spring rolls as well as the fact that it came with TWO in the order. But my spring roll preference is when the filling is chopped small so that I can't really tell what's in there, while I found this filling to be made of huge chunks of carrots and cabbage. Nothing wrong, just a preference thing. Upon first look, I thought my pad see ew was a bit lacking in terms of size, but it's a lunch special. Truly cannot really complain. I thought the flavors were decent enough. The first few bites I thought veered slightly on the underseasoned side, but I think much of the sauce sunk to the bottom of the plate, so the last few bites were better. You get what you pay for, and I truly cannot complain about the food I got for $13.50. I also got a Thai iced tea, which came in this vase-like cup. It was slightly watery, but you get so much Thai iced tea in comparison to other places I think. I really felt like I just kept sipping at it and there seemed to be an endless supply of tea. I loved it. The interior of the space is really nice, though. It's well lit and well decorated, and it would be a great place to eat with a group of friends! read more

Displays really surprised me! Their khao soi and crispy duck were EXTREMELY GOOD. Even having been to Thailand, I would say it's comparable or even better! The flavors were there, the crispy duck was super super crispy and tender in the middle and the noodles were just the right amount of spicy. The portion sizes are fair and they're clean and quick!! For my second course, I got the green curry. I saw in other reviews that even though the green curry was considered really spicy, it wasn't that spicy at all. I would agree with all of those reviews, but it was nice since I wasn't in the mood for anything too hot. There was a generous amount of chicken in the curry, and I liked the additions of the bamboo and eggplant. The curry sauce was delicious and I finished the entire thing. By the end of my meal, I was really full, so I felt like everything came in a good portion, despite some other reviews saying the portions were small. Really wanted to like this place and went in on a calm, not busy Wednesday evening for a walk in time around 6pm or so. Lovely decor I must say. The reason I gave this restaurant such low stars is because the pad see ew was flavorful, but the texture of the noodles was not to my liking. It was new for me is all--chewy goodness still, but a bit too chewy and kind of thin at the same time? Lumpy, weirdly as well. The second reason I gave this place low stars was because I wasn't expecting to be judged for the subjects of our personal conversations by the hostess and other guests. Mind you it was a bit empty and maybe we could have had more savory topics and maybe we could have spoken quieter. But it was an empty and calm Wednesday night and we are four young friends just trying to catch up. So I don't think it was warranted when the hostess (who at that point became our server) came up to us and rudely--with a huff, I might add--asked if we wanted dessert. Mind you we were in the middle of the conversation so I feel like she was trying to interrupt to get on with her job. When my boyfriend genuinely did not hear what she said and asked her to repeat herself politely, she rudely responded again, "DE-SSERT?" Loudly and with an attitude as if we had never spoken that word or had dessert before. We politely declined and she went on her way back up to the hostess stand. Although we politely declined, we definitely clocked the attitude. At another point in the night, the quiet elderly gentleman who dined next to us had gone up to speak to her on his way out, presumably to say goodbye. I think throughout the night, since all the seating is off to one side with a long bench against the wall--and he, for some reason, was sat directly next to us--he'd often turn to our conversation and listen. Therefore, I believe that when he greeted the hostess on his way and stopped and had a minutes long conversation, I found it quite rude seeing the hostess and this customer turn towards us and laugh at us. As this did not happen long after we had our own personal conversation, it seemed they were making fun of us. Furthermore, when the hostess took our card for the check and subsequently said bye to us as we exited, she did so monotonously and rudely. She handled both of these interactions as if serving us and interacting with us were such great burdens to her. I'll give the establishment some credit where credit is due and take responsibility for our part of the evening, but there is no reason to talk down to your paying customers. Our server who initially served us was incredibly kind and lovely, so I was surprised we did not get that from all staff. I used to work in the food service industry as well, so if the hostess was having a bad day, I'll give it to her--she's human, too. But there's no reason to belittle your customers at every opportunity, especially towards the end of their visit. Leaving after these instances left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was just ok because I've had much better tasting Thai food elsewhere, but I came here with family and we found a small and hard piece of clear plastic in the fried rice. A waitress noticed our disgust immediately and helped us get rid of the plastic so I didn't have time to take a photo of it. They offered to provide a second serving of fried rice, which I think was appropriate to offer. The interior space is also generally narrow and more intimate, so not for big groups. The pad Thai was basic with only a few pieces of shrimp but the sauce was excellent. I could have added more protein for an extra $3-$4 but opted not to. I think they use actual tamarind in the sauce as opposed to colored weird substitutes. The crab omelette was also delicious and fried to crispy perfection. Randomly stopped into this place for lunch before heading to the American Natural History Museum and both the food and service were good. We did not feeling like cooking tonight so on our way home we placed a take away order from Land. By the time we arrived, maybe 10 minutes and we told the server we had placed an order, she went in to check. She came back out 5 minutes later with our order. We ordered the green curry medium spice and extra veggies. It had good flavor, with the perfect amount of spice. We also got a chicken pad thai, also really good flavor.
