I read a review that this place did not live up to tourist expectations of a Georgia delicacy. Being a local and born and raised in GA, I had to see for myself. In my experience, any hole-in-the-wall biscuit place IS a delicacy. I was in a bit of a hurry, but was pleasantly surprised to see they had a drive-thru! The menu is simple and classic southern comfort food. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The breakfast burrito is HUGE and loaded with steak and eggs! The hash browns are different from normal but still also tasty. The staple delicacy of them all is the sausage gravy and biscuit. I grew up on biscuits and gravy as a weekend or holiday breakfast that my dad was a master at making. It is very tasty from here. The biscuit is soft and fluffy and the gravy has great flavor. No red hot sauce needed for this meal, 100% a Georgia delicacy and a great southern comfort food spot!

If you are looking for a no-frills Bfast, and are a fan of biscuits (duh), then That Biscuit Place is for you. The majority of morning customers seem to frequent the quick drive-thru or come in for takeout. I have done the former, and they are very efficient in getting the order to your car. When I'm in the mood for biscuits and gravy, I primarily dine-in, because I like the meal fresh from the kitchen. My favorite is to add scrambled eggs and hash browns (or tater tots) to the meal. Healthy heart? No, but it is damn good. Throw-in friendly staff and the aforementioned fast service, and I'm a fan!! Cheers! RS

looked for local breakfast spots away from my house for a change, and stumbled across this place. Tucked away near browns bridge rd might be some of the best chicken and biscuits in the South. I paid 5 bucks for a hunk of buttery biscuit the size of my face, with the crispiest but still tender chicken breast inside. The food was so good I forgot to ask the smoking hot server for her number dang it. Only thing is that they should serve some coffee as well. Cozy atmosphere, a bit bare and kind of run-down looking, but that just makes it better in my opinion. I get a strange sense of nostalgia, and I feel like I've seen this place before. Too bad this place is an hour away from me.

Lovely little hole in the wall mom and pop place. As soon as you walk in, you can smell Fabuloso, which they use to clean tables and floors...I love that smell. Pretty busy but there was always a table available and I hung out for a bit after I finished eating. The folks working seemed like locals and were friendly. I ordered a chicken biscuit and cheese grits. My total was about $7.65 after tax. I personally won a biscuit contest and like to try other folks' biscuits when I can. First of all, their biscuits are what you call a cat head biscuit...it's the size of a cat head, it's a southern thang. The texture was on the soft side, which is not a bad thing, I personally like mine a bit crunchy on top and bottom. They taste like they're made with shortening bc they lacked flavor. The same for the chicken. It was cooked perfectly, had a great crunch, a bit on the thin side for such a big biscuit but it also lacked flavor. There was no doubt the cheese grits were cheesy. They were good but needed a lot of salt and some pepper. I can't help but wonder if they don't season a lot due to elderly folks watching their salt intake. Overall everything was good and I loved the ambiance. I still gave them 4 stars because of the ambiance and the food was fresh and good quality. A few other things to note: It took about 5 min to order and get my food. They have a drive-thru. They had plenty of condiments to choose from but not honey, I like honey on my chicken biscuits. About 10 different meats to choose from for your biscuit.

So, we decided to try this place out today. We should have gone to waffle house. I have never seen such a sad excuse for cheese grits or hashbrowns in my life. I am not sure how you manage to make grits both super runny and lumpy at the same time. And, while the biscuits are ok, they are not particularly exceptional in any way. Not anywhere close to what it used to be... Egg to biscuit ratio has been soft rather pitiful the past several times I've ordered from this establishment. The sausage has also been hit or miss for me as well, exceptionally undercooked or overcooked, quality of food overall here has astronomically gone to garbage. For years I believed this was the top place to come for biscuits in North Georgia but for now it sits as the least best place to grab a biscuit in North Georgia. I would do more research on biscuit places in the area or even check out any other kind of breakfast place in the area besides this place. I have eaten at That Biscuit Place at-least once a month for almost the past 6 years and I never thought it would come to this. read more

You know those memes that go around with the "best restaurant in town starter pack"? Brown floor tiles, faded yellow Coke-themed menu sign, unassuming front door and part of a strip - this is that place. They crank out biscuits and gravy and coffee and pigs in a blanket. You get huge biscuits, 3 lbs of gravy, and most everything is like $3. The coffee is even better than most (forget sour and bitter hipster coffeeshop brew). You know it's a good spot and local favorite when you roll up to 4 old dudes standing around talking at the back of a pickup. You know it's better when you leave with a 10 lb bag of breakfast for like $30. Drop by. read more

This place is the definition of a "hole in the wall" & it doesn't disappoint. I walked in a little hungover and ready for some great country breakfast to revive me. My girlfriend had a chicken biscuit and I got the sausage gravy & biscuit. Holy cow! It was fantastic! Also, you could feed a whole army here for less than $100! That is a bit of an exaggeration obviously, but the prices here can't be beat! We had breakfast for two under for $10. I will most definitely be back. read more

Stopped by here on the way to the Pumpkin patch in Dawsonville, GA. So glad we stopped because the traffic up 400 was horrible today!! Maybe everyone was going to the pumpkin patch? Well we have tried Fagan's and almost went back to Fagan's because we knew they had a decent product. I am so so happy that we decided to take a chance with "That Biscuit Place". We tried the chicken biscuit(FANTASTIC), the bacon egg and cheese(very nice), Gravy biscuit(my wife loved it, I thought it was decent), and a cinnamon roll which we have not opened yet, but plan on trying real soon!! If you want a great breakfast go give "That Biscuit Place" a try and you will not be disappointed. The staff is very sweet and treat you like family in conversation and friendliness. Get there before 2 though or you will have to wait til the next day! read more

We stopped here for breakfast while passing through and it's a cute little meat and 3. The chicken biscuits we had were good, but the chicken was about 3/4 the size of the biscuit. That was really due to the fact that the biscuits were so HUGE, and as delicious as they were we let it slide, but it would be nice to have some chicken in each bite of the sandwich. The staff was really nice and the place was filled with locals, which is always a good sign. read more

This is the place for good, cheap, country food served in a hole in the wall setting. The biscuits as you can imagine are nothing short of awesome. The service is fast, friendly and country. The coffee tastes like oil and dirt were run through a combustion engine and poured into a Styrofoam cup, but it does the job. My breakfast of biscuits and gravy, coffee, and cheese grits was 5ish dollars and well worth it. If you are looking for a great place to hang with the locals, eat great food and drink some dirt water look no further. read more

Heck yeah! Saturday morning? Biscuit craving? Anywhere nearby? Then get in here, grab the biscuit with your choice of meats, throw on an egg (spoiler alert: this is NOT a granola stand - nothing against granola mind you) and you're good to go. Local place run by a committed owner/cook and staff that never seems to have an off day. BTW, my 5-star is for the breakfast offerings (haven't had their lunch) but the other lunch menu items look similarly tasty. read more

Great breakfast place and worth the drive from Atlanta. I had the sausage gravy & biscuit with a tenderloin biscuit. I also got a meat and two (went with the salmon patties, mashed potatoes, green beans, and cornbread) to-go for later. All was very delicious. This is arguably one of the best hole in the wall restaurants in forsyth county. They have great country cooking with meat and three meals as well as burgers/hot dogs/fries/etc. It is typically busy around breakfast and lunch with locals. Definitely a must try! read more

Definitely a great biscuit place! This is going to be a Compare and Contrast review to Fagan's Biscuit Barn. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place because Fagan's is not open on Sundays. I ordered a sausage biscuit and some banana pudding. My boyfriend ordered a biscuit with gravy as well as hashbrowns. - The hashbrowns were AWESOME - The banana pudding was good but Fagan's definitely was better. - I liked the fact that this place had biscuits that weren't flaky or come apart easy like Fagan's, but Fagan's biscuits taste a lot more scratch-made. - Was not very impressed with their sweet tea since I like mine super sweet, it was just so-so. I would go here again but it's not my most favorite biscuit place. read more

Review is for breakfast only. This place has great big biscuits! Really big! Prices range from $1.99 for a biscuit with one topping to $4.35 for the biscuit and bacon or sausage with hash browns combo. Toppings are decent portions of anything you could imagine: country ham, egg, cheese and even salmon. I have no idea how the salmon might be but don't plan to try it here. Pork loin is good if a little dry, and the sausage gravy is great. The locals pack this place for breakfast. You won't have to wait long til youoverhear gardening tips or Bible verses for the day. Prolly need to get here early for fishing tips. Coffee not bad either. read more

We came to Homestead for an after-graduation brunch, hoping to celebrate a milestone with a good…read moremeal. There were nine of us--not exactly a tiny table, but hardly the kind of group that should throw a restaurant into chaos. To be fair, we did wait for two people in our party before ordering food. It was probably 20-30 minutes, and we made it very clear to our server that we were waiting. We also weren't just camping out at the table. We started with drinks while we waited, so the restaurant was already making money from our table before the kitchen ever had to cook a single thing. Once everyone arrived, we placed one order together. No staggered tickets, no special requests, no unnecessary complications. The thing is... the restaurant was practically empty. If anything, I would've thought they'd be happy to have a table of nine on a slow brunch. Instead, it felt like we were an inconvenience. Once we finally ordered, it was another 30-plus minutes before much of anything happened. Our waitress wasn't rude, but she also wasn't particularly interested in us being there. She checked the boxes, but just barely. It felt less like hospitality and more like someone waiting for the end of their shift. What made the whole experience even stranger was looking around the restaurant. It wasn't busy, yet several employees seemed to be standing around talking while we sat waiting. During the hour or two we were there, I think only a couple of other parties came through the door. At one point there were two hostesses managing what amounted to a trickle of guests while tables that were already seated waited on drinks, food, and attention. Maybe there's more going on behind the scenes than I could see, but from where we were sitting, it felt less like they needed more people and more like they needed to use the people they already had a little better. Then came the mimosas. These were less mimosas and more "suggestions of citrus." It was basically champagne with a couple thoughts of orange juice. At one point we had to ask for more orange juice just to get it to the legally recognized definition of a mimosa. They tasted like champagne that heard flavored sparkling water was popular and decided to reinvent itself. There was a whole lot of "mim" and not much "osa." At nearly $14 each, I expected something a little more festive and a little less... chemistry experiment. For food, I ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benny: two biscuits, fried green tomatoes, poached eggs, Cholula hollandaise, and fresh fruit. On paper, that's a fantastic brunch. In reality, it was aggressively average. Nothing was quite hot enough. The biscuits had crossed that invisible line between baked and overbaked, where every bite makes you wonder if they're fresh or just committed to the bit. The whole dish felt like it had spent just a few too many minutes waiting for someone to remember it existed. And then there was the fruit. You know the kind of fruit bowl where every piece somehow tastes exactly the same because it's been sitting in the same juice for hours? That's what this was. Cheap melon, tired grapes, and enough pooled juice to ensure every bite shared the same identity crisis. To top it all off, the Benny was around $18, and the mimosas were pushing $14 each. I'm not going to call it a scam because words have meanings. Nobody tricked us. The prices were right there on the menu. We knew exactly what we were doing. We just expected the experience to justify it. On the bright side, the restaurant looks like it was designed by someone who has never met food, but has definitely met Pinterest. And honestly, it shows. Modern farmhouse, soft lighting, curated everything--it nails the aesthetic. Which is great, because you'll have plenty to look at while everything else catches up. It's funny how common this is now: it's easier than ever to make something look finished. You can polish the surface until it feels complete, even when the inside still isn't. Anyway--great aesthetics. The rest feels like it's still figuring itself out.
