If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered online for That Burger Joint, only to arrive and find out that THEY ARE CLOSED. I did it on their official website, and received no notification that they were closed. Was told that they can't do a refund until they are open again and also told that it was my fault for ordering on the website and not calling. Ironically, when I called the number for the place the voicemail says they strongly recommend you place orders online. This isn't the first time I've had issues with this That burger joint and Oberwiese. The staff is rude, obnoxious and completely unhelpful, yet they seem to be overstaffed with most of them just standing around doing nothing. Every time we've ordered shakes here which is only been three times the quality is completely different. and they're either completely overwhelmed on the inside of the building, or for some odd reason it's randomly closed and only the drive-through lane is open. I'm never going to this place again. it is completely mismanaged. read more

This is as good as it gets for Burgers, fries and Ice Cream!! Started with a double Angus burger w cheese and bacon served on a pretzel bun, plus fries. It was delicious... Next, it was a blueberry pie ice cream cone in a fresh waffle cone. My license plate reads "PIE GUY" for good reason and this appeared to be a real blueberry pie, crust and all, blended into the smoothest vanilla ice cream I have ever tasted. I live 20 miles from this place, but I can tell you that every time I am cruising the Edens Expressway past the Dempster exit, I will be exiting for lunch and/or another blueberry pie ice cream cone, from now on to be 2 scoops instead of 1. Based on my husband's response to the taste and quality of the burger, two thumbs up. I went to pick it up for him. However, there were some issues with fulfilling the order in a timely manner but c'mon, give these workers a break, it was their first week. What makes me think that they will perfect their three items is that there are only THREE ITEMS on their menu (burger, chicken or hotdog). However, as a vegetarian myself, I would love to see a veggie (homemade) burger pop up on their menu. They would get a lot more business that way, especially from me that is. Fries were great, homestyle cut. Shakes were just okay, very expensive though, $4.50 for a 16oz. The burgers lacked seasoning and seemed very lifeless. They were overpriced and seriously they are not even gourmet. A lot of the condiments were just regular stuff you get free with any burger from any decent burger joint...mustard, lettuce, onions...come on, these are condiments you choose NOT to put on any decent burger, if you happen to not like them. Otherwise you say 'everything'! Here you get to choose just 3! All that would have been ok...and they could have gotten away being a 'Burger Nazi' if only the beef in the burgers was out of this world. Which it isn't - it's flat, tasteless and dry. I don't think I'll be going back. This place is empty at lunch time and now I know why. The food is of average-at-best quality. It's expensive: $9.50 for a cheeseburger and fries. They offer lots of "free" toppings which I suppose are covered by charging so much for a tasteless burger, but of the 3 things I ordered on it, I only got 2. When you walk in, there was so many people waiting and I didn't realize that they were waiting for food rather than to place an order. It is not clearly marked where to order, which is all the way in the back corner. They had a sauce on the menu with no description, pedal sauce. Then the most annoying part... I waited 30 minutes for 2 burgers and 1 order of fries, which were cold. I went on Saturday at 2pm thinking it wouldn't be that busy, but there were so many people that were just waiting for food. I came here to get a burger and got Ice cream instead. They are overpriced for their burgers. For example the new chipotle jack burger that I wanted is $9 that is not including drink and fries. First time coming and I had to wait 5 minutes for someone to take my order and it was empty they didn't have a cashier in the fronts. I also noticed they have there fries left out instead of putting it back in the freezer. I decided to try it for the first time during my lunch hour, BIG MISTAKE! it took the very unorganized staff 30 min to get my order together. The burger was good. It's a little pricey, but so are all the new Burger places that are popping up! Couple things I think they need here tho. More sides (they only have fries) a selection of cheeses to choose from (they only have American) and they NEED to have eggs for the sandwiches, which is a fail. The burgers are similar to 5 Guys but they are LARGER no doubt. The fries are similar to Great Steak and Potato, hand cut, and crispy, but not as greasy. My burger had cheese, lettuce, pickle, mayo, mustard and ketchup. The nice thing is, you can order an Oberweiss shake to go with your meal. They shorted me on fries, I ordered a large, and a lady in my office ordered a small and she had WAY more fries then I did, which honestly worked out fine because this burger was insanely large! This place is awesome! What a great concept! I have always been a fan of Oberweis ice cream (and their lemonade is the best best best). Now you can come in for dinner AND stay for dessert. The burgers are delicious! They are WAY WAY better than Five Guys - not even a comparison! Fries are also delicious. We also tried the apple crisp - TO DIE FOR!! DO NOT skip this burger joint!! Just went last week. The drive thru wasn't giving out burgers so I went in. The Menu is pretty simple. I got a "That Burger" with cheese and fries. Total came to around 9$. The burger was ok nothing special. No where near Five Guys or MeatHeads, Portillos, and for its price Mcdonalds across the street would have sounded alot better. Being attached to an Oberweis I was excited to try this place but frankly I was only impressed with the french fries. The junior burger wasn't juicy. It wasn't BAD it just wasn't great. There is something to say though for the fact that their beef doesn't have antibiotics and meets certain standards so that's cool and for that reason alone I'd go back. Horrible experience...went here on their opening day and, clearly, they were overwhelmed. Waited 50 minutes for our order and when we did get it, the food was cold. Orders were being called in no logical order and at times it seemed they were handling drive thru orders first. The menu is tiny (burger, chicken sandwich, hot dog, fries and drink) and expect to pay $6.50 for a plain burger (cheese and bacon are extra). Management can - and should - have done more for patrons since it was opening day. Its a novelty for the neighborhood right now but if they don't get their act together soon, people will not come back. I know I won't. read more

I came inside to ask if they have veggie burger, and the guy said yes. So I ordered one with 3 toppings and added cheese for .50 cents. In few minutes, he gives me something packed in a foil, very light. I open and see there only my toppings, no bun! No veggie patty ( although I specifically asked if they use veggie patty:). So I asked him for my bun and veggie patty - he apologized and took it back, saying he will fix it. Few minutes later I got my toppings inside bun, no veggie patty:). And I asked again, now he said that they don't do veggie patty:)))). I was hungry so I eat "this". Cheese was awful, cheapest you can find. Burger was the worst thing I have tried. This place is delicious! A little pricey though... I had the single bacon cheese on a pretzel bun with grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, Cajun seasoning and ranch! OMG did it ever hit the spot! I don't eat alot of red meat but this is an every once in awhile treat! The fries are just the way I like them, not to fried and not too salty! Stopped by because it was in the hood and it is connected to Oberweis and I felt like a shake and a burger. I had the That Burger and as I was eating it all I could think was rubbery and dry with no flavor. The shake on the other hand was top notch. The biggest gift came about 45 minutes after eating. This is owned/ operated by Oberweiss Dairy. Got That Burger with: Petal Sauce, American, Mushrooms, Bacon, L-T-O and Mustard on a pretzel roll. Do LIKE the fact that a Pretzel Roll is offered and at no additional charge. It was a pretty good burger overall, just cooked to oblivion but not over salted and had decent beef flavor. Been waiting for a chance to get in there and try the food. TBJ is like a mashup between 5 guys and Epic burger but falls short of both. They're on the right track and the organic and humanely treated beef. Only wish more places were like this. Pretzel roll on the burger of course was tasty but they need to be toasted, steamed or something, a cold dense bun on a burger isn't good. Cheese only 1 choice yes or no? Oberwiess hello? Dairy product company.. please offer some more choices on cheese. It's in your guys DNA to offer great dairy products partner with someone and have them make cheeses based off your milk. The fries I've had someplace else...because they are the same fries that supply places like this......inadequate but edible and fresh out of a box from a semi. Now the burger wasn't that bad. But you are paying for all the options in some way. I thought Epic's burger wasn't close to epic yet somehow I think this may be more Epic than Epic's. Way, way too expensive. Burger, fries, and a coke was the thin end of $11. There are better places with better prices. Having said that, the fries were good. The burger was sloppy, bread got soggy in a minute or two. For what it is, it's not worth it. The staff were friendly enough and the food got out quite quickly. Holy Cow! Our food was outstanding. My family had the cheapest meal for four and experienced the full menu. I had the chicken on a pretzel bun -- wonderful. My daughter had a hot dog that was devoured as my son the hamburger. My husband enjoyed a burger and all had the friesh cut fries. And the milk as always the world's best! I came here for a business meeting around 2PM on a weekday and the place was empty. The girl taking the orders was nice and friendly, and even offered some chocolate milk to try. We ordered a couple of burgers and fountain drinks, and large fries. The food came out quickly and we were able to eat and talk some business in no time at all. The burgers were good, but nothing special. For the price, I think we could've gotten some better burgers elsewhere.
