Awesome little retro arcade! Drinks and slushies are fun (sweeeet) and the staff were helpful, especially when we wanted to buy a tshirt and couldn't find the size we needed. Tokens are a pretty good value (i got them with a drink for a discount) We wouldn't spend more than an hour or 2 though because the game selection is smaller at the location we went to, but it's a good pitstop to meet with friends! read more

This place is always lively and fun. I especially enjoy pinball and it's still so cheap to play ! It's also a great place before or after going to a show. Crystal loves the racing games and basketball! We also love to play jenga with our friends even came here for my birthday once just to do that. We often hit up skeeball and ninja turtles! There's an area in the back to go sit down as well and have a drink or a bite. There's fun things like mystery shots and a fun cheap happy hour here too! They have a slushy machine and lots of fun drinks including NA options! The people working here have always been friendly and fun and it's one of our favorite places to go to in Denver! read more

This is such a cool concept: Old school Arcade games and a bar. The games take quarters, and they have an atm and a way for you to exchange your dollars to quarters. Most games cost about a $1. They have a lot of pinball games. They have fighting games, tetris, ski ball, basketball, just lots of different things to choose from. You can spend a good chunk of time in there. The bartender was friendly and they have specials going on different days of the week so it's always something. They even had slushies which was a nice touch. My boyfriend and I love going to 1Up for the ski ball (we have an ongoing competition.) We normally go to the Colfax location as it's closest to us. However; after over 10 visits between the bartenders and door guys... we just haven't felt welcome. We decided to try the Lodo location for the first time and the door guy, Bryce, warmly welcomed us in and told us to have a good time. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN HERE! We have now come a small handful of times as it is conveniently located and the two bartenders that are there every time are great! The girl with dark curly hair is always so kind and helpful! The man outside who checks IDs is really nice too! He made a good first impression and throughly checks IDs which I really respect because a lot of door people in this town hardly glance. The selection of games is good even for a smaller location- no space is wasted, the games are lined up on all walls and nothing I played was broken (minus the jump button on one character of TMNT). I love the selection of pinball! Old and new mixed of things! The Skeeball is actually in good shape and the machines are properly balanced! Which is also a big deal for me! Came here on a Saturday night after flight club was all booked up. It's very conveniently located in Downtown, Denver near the Coors field. Lots of street parking. Bring cash so you can exchange them for tokens. They probably have around 50 arcade games you can play and a few sitting areas. Most games cost around $0.50 to $1.50. It was very fun to come here and play some old school games. They also have an outdoor area where they have some giant Jenga. The bar is located inside in the middle of the building so you can grab drinks here. Super fun time, I couldn't see myself hanging out here for longer than an hour, because it is a very tight space and was quite dirty but it was fun. Overall, 4/5 stars read more

Ok- I'm biased to this place because I'm a regular. Arcade games, jenga and connect 4 outside make for a great time! Service: I have never had bad service at this place. In fact, the two bartenders who serve me and my friend regularly go above and beyond. They are extremely quick, even with a full bar, and are super friendly! Food: No full menu at this location, but they do have slices of pizza for purchase. They aren't out of this world by any means, but is your classic cafeteria-style pizza and is good enough! I haven't tried anything on the drink menu besides beer, but the beer is always ice cold and you can't beat the price during HH. $2 Coors Light has to be the best price in Denver. Arcade: Love the old-school games here. Pin-ball, ski-ball, Pac-Man, Tetris, and more newer style games. Games are extremely reasonably cost and there's enough to keep you occupied for some time. This place holds a lot of charm. In the best dive bar kinda way. We wondered in on a random Monday night and were greeted by the literally sweetest bartender ever. She gave us a quick rundown of how things work. You can purchase a bag of 80 tokens for $20. Games range 1-5 tokens. (Ps 80 tokens between two goes way faster than you'd think. 1UP is one of the very few arcade bars in the Denver area and definitely the best known one. There are 3 locations, LoDo on Blake St, Colfax, and Greenwood Village. The LoDo location and Colfax one get confused often so make sure to confirm with your group where you are meeting! Drinks are cheap, there are 3 Jenga tables and 2 giant tic-tac-toe games outside, and plenty of arcade games inside including 3 skeeball lanes, 2 basketball games, and plenty of pinball machines. I took 2 stars off because many of the games are broken to some extent. This is including all the skeeball lanes and both basketball machines have had faulty sensors for at least a year now. Please get these games fixed and this review would easily be 5 stars! read more

This is a cool, yet cozy, arcade bar located a few steps from Coors Field. It fills up quickly, so if it's busy, like it can be after a baseball game or other event, an entry line can form. I got caught in the line, but I didn't have to wait long. I walked in after about a ten minute wait. There are games. Most of the old 80s and 90s arcade games are there. Pinball, too. I loved the life size Mario Kart racing pods. (On your marks, get set... GO!!!!!!) Skee-Ball and Pop-a-Shot are also available if you're wanting something interactive. There is booze. Draft and canned beer are for sale. Spirits and mixed cocktails are, too. Everything is priced like it is being sold in a bar in a popular entertainment district. I've been to a couple 1Up arcades. Most are very similar instructure and the feel of the interior (tend to be dark, more like a bar -- which makes sense, because they house a bar). This location is shaped like a horseshoe. There is a U-shaped bar inside it, but it is squared. It creates "chokepoints" where a couple people standing next to each can block the access to go around. It isn't terribly large because the bar takes up a healthy chunk in the middle, so when a group of 4 stood at the bar that was right in front of the entrance, you couldn't easily get around. As for game variety, they have Tron and that is the one I like all the time. There are a couple skee-ball games. Not many 4-person games to play, but a healthy dose of 2 player games. Almost the entire left hand side as you walk in are 4-person Mario Kart and the pinball machines. Not a bad selection of pinball options -- newer and older -- but the actual number of them is on par with the smaller 1Up Arcades I have been to. My wife did get a drink (rum and coke). It was a bit spendy ame light on the rum. Also, this place doesn't take quarters; the machine still talk about a "coin shortage" and give you tokens. C'mon, guys -- we all know the token are worthless and you just don't want to give customers back money. You end up trying to spend all your tokens because unlike quarters, they are worthless outside of the arcade. The biggest issue is the layout makes it difficult to walk around and the overall selection of games is lesser than other locations. My wife and I had fun there, but it meant people all around us most of the time (except by the pinball machines where there is a little more room thanks to a small seating area). The drinks aren't anything memorable. It was hard to find enough fun titles to spend a $10 playing games and it makes no sense to take tokens home with you (instead of quarters), so you'll likely slightly overspend. It isn't a bad place by any means, but it is only worth a short visit. read more

A unique and fun experience to try once. This bar is underground and is filled with tons of pinball machines and a few other arcade games that surround a bar. Me and my friend from Ohio tried to get in on a Friday night at 6pm. There was basically nobody there and when the bouncer asked to see my ID, he turned me away. Unfortunately a very upsetting experience. I came here with my father on my 30th birthday. We had a great time until we left our Gattaca game to grab a drink. A lady cut in front of the line and words were exchanged, she returned to her proper place in line and we grabbed our beers. Later on security came to say my father touched her butt and assaulted her. They showed up a 2 second clip that showed my father putting his hands straight up after she moved in front of him. When questioned staff told us we simply had to understand their situation. We left embarrassed and saddened on both our birthday weekends.
