This place has a farm"ish" type of aesthetic, cute and comfortable seating. Like I said we were immediately seated which is a ++++. I have to take a star away because this place is loud. Think of Cheesecake Factory loud. We both decided to get a Denver omelette and it was okay. I got sourdough toast and he got the biscuit. The omelette reminded me of a western omelette. It was pretty standard in taste. The waitresses did a few things that had me second guessing her actions (if you don't trust your clientele do not provide the option to pay with Apple Pay on the receipt) but overall it was an okay spot. read more

Check this place out for brunch. Large parking lot, large dining area, huge, wraparound porch with evening lighting. (Want to come back and see what it's like at night.) We were greeted right away by the friendly staff and seated at a high top booth. (One side had a foot rest the other did not, appeared to be broken off.) the food came out quickly, and was very tasty. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with grits, just the perfect amount of food. (don't get the croissant toasted, it was a little hard.) The cook on the eggs Benedict was perfect amount of runny. The fruit option as a side is typically dull, So order something else. No hard liquor, so bloody Mary's are wine based. We won't order that next time. No amount of hot sauce can change wine and vodka. All in all, I highly recommend a visit for Sunday brunch at least. I have eaten here a couple times previously for breakfast and lunch and the food was decent. We tried it tonight with 6 of our family members and it was a 1 star experience. The waitress seemed new to serving. We had to ask for napkins, ask for silverware after food was delivered, ask for water, when we asked for water for our kids after they had their 1 Mr. Pin she tried to refill their Pibb cups with water. The country fried steak seemed frozen and heated up. I ordered a burger with no bun, and the meat tasted like old clearance meat from the grocery store, my stomach has been hurting ever since. The menus were all falling apart and covered with food and stains. I gave this 2 stars because I had a decent experience before, but unfortunately I won't be back. We wanted to try something local near home but this experience was so bad it will be our last. My wife couldn't even order after seeing how gross the menus were and poor the service was. I wish I took pictures. I hate leaving reviews like this but people do need to know. read more

We stopped by this spot for Sunday's brunch, nice little place. We were seated on the patio and unfortunately, there was a man with a dog that licked my dates hand (dogs shouldn't be allowed to run rapid). We order french toast, I ordered the Hawaii which came with fruit and he ordered a French toast that looked and tasted way to much like pecan cake. The grits were perfect and I loved the eggs. It's essentially your basic diner. My husband and I came here for breakfast be Sunday morning. We just bought a home in Lawrenceville and were wanting to try the restaurants around us. We were very disappointed with our experience here. The food was sooooooooo mediocre and that's honestly an overstatement. The biscuit was super thick and DRY!!! My goodness no amount of butter or jam could fix it. It didn't taste fresh. NOTHING tasted fresh. The bacon was definitely pre-cooked and sitting in a food warmer. It was barley warm when it came out. The food lacked flavor and we had to use a ton of salt and pepper to make it taste edible. The grits were oily and watery at the same time...how? The egg white omelet was very wet (like watery). The potatoes were decent but needed salt. The chili omelet was probably the best thing we ordered. The Hawaiian French toast were the biggest disappointment. It was dry, tasted stale, and was made using canned pineapple and what tasted like artificial pineapple flavor. If you live near by and just need food to hold you over once in a while.....sure come here. But I don't recommend wasting your time or money! read more

THE 5 SPOT CAFÉ was a delightfully unexpected surprise! Their menu is one in which I get confused because so many things sound soooo great! One of my new favorite loves is the Impossible Burger and wouldn't you know it, they had it on the menu! However, I wanted to go for the grilled shrimp strawberry fields salad, so my wife decided to get the impossible burger on a gluten-free bun and my world was complete! ... Then I had second thoughts, because ANYTIME Chicken Cordon Bleu is on the menu, it's going in my belly. But to stick with my current diet plan I decided that cordon bleu will be my celebration meal once I've reached my weight loss goals and the San Francisco burger will be my victory lap for another day! But wait, there was also a great selection of omelets because they sell their ENTIRE MENU all day, so I was having third and fourth thoughts!!! And if those choices weren't painfully difficult enough, they also offer a steak or salmon salad, a delicious looking Ruben, Chicken Parmesan, Lobster Mac n' Cheese, Molten Turtle Cake, Banana Foster Cheesecake and a Warm Oreo Churro w/vanilla ice cream!!! SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH!!!! ... But to the deep pride of my wife, I stuck to my guns and ordered (and happily consumed) my grilled Strawberry Fields salad! And let me tell you it was actually very good... no carnivorous regrets whatsoever! Even if you don't like the bitterness of blue cheese, the sweet raspberry vinaigrette more than makes up for the bitterness. I almost forgot the blue cheese was on there! I shared some of my salad and she shared some of her burger! She also got a side of gluten-free pancakes that practically tasted like normal pancakes! My wife thought the impossible burger was just but I actually thought it was delicious! I do wish they would use a thicker patty for the money though. You get charged an extra$3 for the privilege of an impossible burger party, which seems to be thinner than their regular burger. I like it better when the impossible patty is a little thicker. As I do love eating breakfast at this place, it seems like it's fading a little. Don't get me wrong, I love the food but the pancakes are becoming rubbery it appears. This is after 2 visits this year in the past month. However, I haven't tried anything else on the menu as I love the breakfast. There are plenty of things I would love to try but I always love the pancakes, sausage, and eggs/omelette. I'm not sure what the cook is doing differently from what I'm used to when I first walked into that establishment, but something has changed. It used to be nice buttermilk pancakes at that time, now I catch a little hell cutting and chewing them now. Again, I ate there twice after my initial visits this year before I updated my review. It just doesn't taste the same now. Hopefully the owner will read my review and make the changes that needs to be made. I think maybe the owner may have to try them out with a taste test to understand what I'm speaking of. Will I go back?? Most definitely! It's like being a crackhead, you get that first high of your life that you've never had before, yet you go back constantly to get it while believing you can achieve it but never get it again!! I went here based on the reviews and also the close proximity to where I was staying. As most others have noted, this is not in a place you would expect. Its near the Gwinnett airport, jail, and just off highway 316. The establishment is very modern inside. Open floor plan, modern payment devices, and a nice chic decor. The food is described perfectly. Honestly, the items we had were fairly simple, exactly what we wanted, and the right sized portion. We enjoyed the food and were neither stuffed nor wanting more. The service was great! exactly what I appreciate. Frequent enough for things you need/request and also proper intervals to eat and talk. Overall a great experience! I shall return! read more

I really enjoy this hidden gem of a place. I had always seen their palace and never tried it but it really pulled through. The location may seem odd, but this gem is worth finding. My wife and I stumbled upon The 5 Spot a couple of years ago looking for breakfast. We were not disappointed. Well prepared food with good variety. My wife loved the Hawaiian French toast while I've enjoyed and excellent Monterey omelet as well as the Eggs Benedict on another trip here. The last couple of times we've been there the place has been crowded, but the wait was short. Service was quick, coffee well worth a 3rd cup and a very pleasant staff made our experience delightful. We found this place after leaving a sports tournament in the area. Our server (Stephanie I believe) recommended the cinnamon, pecan French toast & veggie egg white omelet which I added bacon to. My my my!!! This place is what you call a hidden gem! Randomly yelped a place to which to treat my Mom and this was excellent. So why the drop in star??? Well it was a Thursday morning and I was trying to get to work. The service was very pleasant, fun but extremely SLOW!!! There was only one waitress and there were about 6 tables seat with about 14-16 people present. So way too much for her to handle. However, she did an excellent job. I don't think the pics will do it justice but I'll attach it anyway! You just have to try this spot. The eggs were moist yet fully cooked, the French toast was out of this world and the sausage???? Visited today while passing through the area. Found this spot hiding in the cut. Ordered breakfast and it was cooked to order and came to the table pretty fast. Restaurant was not crowded at all and the few oatrons there were appropriately spaced out with seating. Meal was tasty and even came with the option with fresh fruit as a side. The plate presentation was just right, almost too pretty to pretty to eat. Establishment was clean and so were the restrooms. We had the nicest pregnant waitress. I ordered via a delivery app during COVID times. I ordered a country fried steak biscuit to satisfy a sudden craving. The biscuit came a bit soggy and the sandwich was all messed up, but I give benefit of the doubt and expect that it was during the delivery process that things might have gone wrong. This place is new and definitely up and coming. Located on the outskirts of Lawrenceville with the beauty of the countryside in its backyard. We were seated right away and greeted by the owner. He brought us out a taste of the signature ciabatta bread to start, which comes from one of the local bakeries and it's DELISH! We ordered the meatloaf ciabatta with home fries and the breakfast burrito (with pot roast...yum!) and a mimosa with Rose'. The mimosa was a great size for only $5 and had me feeling nice by the end of brunch! The meatloaf is a must try, seasoned well with red onions. The breakfast burrito was good, just needed more chipotle sauce or some type of gravy would've enhanced it. The homemade home fries were great as well. Will return again for something new. Omg- so we use to come here ALL THE TIME! I remember when the owner made the tables & we would sit & talk with him... we've tried different wing flavors he was trying out & everything! I mean it was great! We moved out of the area & haven't been in yrs... So I was excited when we came today, then I realized the customer service was terrible, our waitress was good, however, the lady Kayla who brung our food out was terrible! I don't even understand why she felt the need to yell REPEATEDLY what she had, she didn't even give us a chance to figure out what was what. & it wasn't busy at all so it's not like she was over worked or anything. Things like that totally throws off my vibe & turned me off. Maybe we will try again because the food was still good... but customer service is everything to me & this just wasn't it...
