This place is "grown-adult hip," and fits into my life stage. I described it to my wife last night that the place isn't trying to be something that it's not, which happens when places are trying out new concepts to see what sticks. The 6740 restaurant was a solid place to grab a bite, here's why. The fries are amazing and absolutely something to try, with a savory flavor and crispy crunch. We had ordered three shrimp tacos which was topped with cabbage, onions, cilantro, and mayo sauce. The tacos were 2.5/5, and needed some flavor enhancements. But, still a great choice. One problem that should be fixed is the teriyaki bowl, 10/10 on the presentation, but I wished it was more of a bowl, rather than a platter. The rice that was in the bowl had no flavor, and the flavor that came with the plate was just from the teriyaki sauce. Lastly the price, for what you get, you'd be probably better off at somewhere else in uptown Whittier. Still a chill spot to grab a beer or some fries! read more

My new favorite vegan spot!! My man and I tried almost every vegan option on the menu and wow !!! Everything was so delicious !!! And OMG timmermans strawberry beer is absolutely amazing ( a little pricey though $$$) !! The only thing I thought was weird is when my man looked at his bank statement the server charged another $15 on top of the tip we gave her in cash. I called to ask why they were charging more and she cut me off to say that's just what they do in case you leave a tip on the card but in a few days it should go to the price you charged. I didn't know what I really want for lunch, so my feet took me into this pub thinking the food would be amazing... I know, I just want beer for lunch I guess. Hehe. Did I mention I have to go back to work? OK, enough of that. Walked in around 1:30 on a Monday. Parking wasn't horrible and the place was pretty quiet. The staff, well, she has that owner look on her face, Idk, but she was very friendly and helpful. Suggested two drinks from the tap. Settled with one after sampling. I ordered a garlic burger ($11) with cheese (+$1) and it comes with fries or salad. Their food is a bit pricy and lots of "add on" available for extra charges. I also saw home made chips on the menu, but, not for the price of $8 sadly. When I got my burger, truthfully I was a tad disappointed. The rosted garlic was served as topping and moved around a lot. The patty wasn't seasoned... For a garlic burger, I was hoping either to see my garlic mixed in with my meat or at least garlic powder up my meat... I was eating a $11 frozen patty... I cry. Well, as a pub, I guess food is not their strong suit. I enjoyed the drink and their service. I can see this place hopping during the night time. August 18, 2018 we decided to try a new place in uptown Whittier very Great relaxing atmosphere they have plenty of TVs to watch sporting events they do only serve beer and wine. We were provided with excellent customer service and the food was great we had the grilled plain chicken wings and also I have a order of Carne Asada nacho. The food was very good. I highly do recommend this place if you're trying to park out front that might be difficult but I've been told there's parking in the back or above parking just to have blaockaway from the restaurant. I highly recommend this place we will be back. just one small detail do you want to keep in mind that I saw from other reviews and also pictures there's no prices on their beer make sure you ask the price before you order so there won't be any surprises when you receive your beer Bill read more

Came here a few weeks ago for the last hour and a half almost. Good beer selection. I love stouts, so seeing they had a marshmallow stout I had to try it. Had the slightest hint of sweetness. The 40 is a beloved Whittier staple. The food is excellent, with one of the most awesome teriyaki bowls I've ever had. It usually get it with the chicken on the side so I can feed my dog or my extra hungry friends, but that sauce veggie combo is . The beer selection is wonderful too. I had the Diablo Burger and it was one of the worst burgers i've ever had, especially considering the astronomical price. Nothing meshed together and it tasted like it was thrown together in 30 seconds. The following morning I was throwing up and having intense stomach pains, likely from an uncooked patty. The fries were decent, but you could probably find better options in the frozen aisle at your local grocery outlet. Oh, man, found a mighty-fine IPA that darned-near nailed it for me 9.6 outta 10 (OK -- for me at least, but you try this place yourself!). Had the 'Needles' IPA from 'Bottle Logic Brewing' out of Anaheim. So good, wanted another, but empty belly... Had the carnitas tacos with the next one. Even though it was 'only' happy hour, these were were made with love -- first chomp and I was blindly thinking 'These need more salt', but at least I was smart enough keep chewing. The flavors really popped for me! This chef is an artist, and cares about the work of his hands. Nice flavor mix, had to take my time... The ramen soup is really good here! The spicy, if you ask For mild gives it just the right kick. Not too spicy and not anything less. The flavor is different but a good different. The service was horrible We sat there at least 15 minutes before anyone bother to ask if you wanted to order something. We finally place d the order . it took 45 minutes to get our food by the time they brought our food I was really tired and no longer hungry. This spot is an enduring testament to the power and loyalty of the local customer. That said, that's not always a positive thing. While it's not exactly my first (or second) choice to grab a bite or a night out on the town, it does serve a purpose. There is almost always a place to sit and the drinks are served with a smile. The food is fairly standard: Sandwiches, bar snacks, etc. Nothing remarkable. A big deterrent for me are the regular, and more often than occasional, loud and crass regulars. As a female, I don't really feel safe going in there alone. That really sucks. The only reason I will give this place 3 stars is because the female staff members really do their best to make you feel at ease. Massive kudos to them! read more
