Walked in to pick up keys from the front desk of the hotel connected to the restaurant and was warmly greeted by smiling owner Joel and OG staff Alex. Kind of like the feeling of coming home. The place was packed -- just a testament to their very good food and excellent drinks -- there was even a couple sitting outside and they had a fire going. Wish I had taken that photo. It was a really beautiful moment. The place was decorated and felt very holiday festive with small bright lights reflecting off the tin ceiling. Excited to have a couple of days on holiday here. Stopped in to pick up their latest version of fudge because Christian the Baker keeps evolving the art of fudge making...and you don't want to miss an iteration. Using the owner's grandfather's recipe as the base, he makes some of the best fudge in Oregon. Tonight I was told he decided to explore a Mediterranean approach and added nutty sesame to the fudge. The sharp but soft chocolate is a perfect compliment to a delicious drink on a cold, cold night. While I was waiting for the fudge to be packaged to take back to the fireplace in my room, I spied their latest culinary endeavor sitting in jars on the counter... and actually started salivating. They are now serving Pickled eggs. Incredible. When was the last time you had a pickled egg? When done right, pickled eggs are among the most satisfying and clean bite of delicious ungrilled, ungreasy proteins in the world. And the lounge has decided to serve two different kinds, so we might've died and gone to heaven. If you love eggs of every kind, as I do, boiled eggs hold a special place because they are hearty and compact and completely whole. So when you add a spices and acid to that perfection...it emerges as "wow." The service was attentive and thoughtful always, and I was told they're open New Year's Eve until 9.

So there I was, thirsty, walking the streets of Cannon Beach waiting until 4 o'clock when this establishment opened. Yes, I reviewed the yelp reviews, decided that this was the best place to go to based on my Yelp friends and there I was, 4:10 PM on a Thursday. And I was glad to be in the moment at this location, sampling their fine products. They had four old-fashioned on the menu, what is an old-fashioned fan supposed to do? My wife and I did our best to sample and we were very happy with the the work they had done on these old is fashioneds. You've gotta know that they've got three pages of whiskeys and scotches and ryes to taste. It was imposing, and there was something for every taste bud and budget. It was an incredibly cool environment as well. They've got vinyl playing in the background and I was able to enjoy the let it be album by The Beatles and the album by Jimi Hendrix. Yes, for that hour and a half, always right in the world. I would not hesitate to go back to this establishment. Please note that I didn't even mention the brie cheese or the olives that we enjoyed. Yes, I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Absolutely WONDERFUL! The service was exceptional-so friendly and so helpful. The waiter gave us so many great ideas on how and where we should spend our day. We met the chef, and wow!!! He pours his soul into EVERYTHING he makes! Seriously! This is not just any pub food... While the menu is a little bit limited, the options are all very incredible. We also fell in love with the wine. The Pinot Noir and the Pinot Gris were out of this world sensational.! They also let dogs sit on their patio. They came and gave Beau a big bowl of water... Which he loved - and dipped his whole face into. We had the seafood stew, with all fresh fish, and it was absolutely light and delicious. The gentleman next to us got their burger... Which they claim is "the best burger in town". And after seeing him eat it, I believe it to be true. I was filled with envy that I didn't get one too. :) This bar has so much character inside... I saw the girl cutting fresh flowers to put in all the small tiny vases on the table tops. I thought that was a very sweet and thoughtful touch. Everything about this place is thoughtful... The food, the service, the ambience and the kindness. We absolutely loved everything about it and we will come back again. If you have to use the bathroom, you have to walk through the hundred-year-old Hotel that was a old boarding house for logger's. It has so much character. Go down the hallway and look at the American flag. Definitely put this place on your Cannon Beach list... You can thank us later, and tell them that we sent you! Absolutely excellent! Thank you, to the staff, for making our trip extra wonderful!

Loved the atmosphere and decor! Very cool and welcoming vibe.

Great little lounge right on the main road across the street from a public parking lot. It's in the same historical building a the Cannon Beach Hotel. Wonderful vibe, service, and selection of libations. They have an extraordinary selection of whiskey and bourbon. We tried the Japanese Whisky flight and found a new favorite! Also had some of the best Manhattans ever. They play music on a record player and have a fabulous selection of vinyl that really adds to the whole vibe of the place. Indoor and patio seating. Snacks, small plates, and a few entrees. They make their own in-house pickled eggs and have at least 5 types to choose from; we tried the soy sauce one. We also shared herbed almonds and marinated olives with our cocktails. They also have desserts; we shared a bundt cake that was outstanding. We wish we tried the entrees, but didn't have enough time. Highly recommend this place when you visit Cannon Beach!

Ambiance is snooty. I mean most people who like good whiskey or bourbon have a bit of that. We are a bit snobby when it comes to our beverages. BUT I felt like the particular server we had ALSO felt like I or my guy, weren't going to be good tippers or customers maybe because we looked a bit too casual... I know. We sure did. We also had been drinking already. And we drank more (we had a shuttle from our hotel,) and we were on vacation. And I needed to blow off A LOT of steam. I wanted to try new whiskey/bourbon. So I told the server I wanted a flight and that I usually grabbed a Pendleton or Buffalo Trace and I also love Basil Hayden. So I got a Knob Creek (which I know I like because I'd had that as well previously, but NOT the particular one he brought,) which was an aged 9 years. I had a Michters, which I'd never tried previously. And I had a Blanton's which I'd never tried but I had heard of. I tried the Knob Creek first and it was good. Smooth like always. Then the Michters. I didn't like it. To me the flavor wasn't as rich and it had that whiskey/bourbon BITE. But then the Blanton's oh my. It was delicious. Perfect. Smooth. Carmel-y just wonderful. So I got a drink of that after my flight. AND I had to also try the Old Fashioned on the menu. And it did NOT disappoint. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, which is a pet peeve if mine. I'd definitely come back here again because I like finding new favorites. And I like tasting whiskey and bourbon.

Very cool whiskey bar. I came here for dessert and got the highly rated toffee sticky cake and omg it was worth it! Very sweet though, I had to eat it in increments. Very cool vibe and connected to a hotel. Must try if you like whiskey! Service was great as I called and asked if I could order the dessert ahead of time and they had it ready when I arrived!

**whiskey and wine baby!** If you're looking for the perfect blend of sophistication and comfort, this upscale whiskey and cocktail bar nails it. It has that *special* vibe--polished, yet welcoming, and effortlessly cool. You know you're in for a good time the moment you step in, thanks to the 21-and-up policy, which creates an inviting, child-free zone where adults can actually unwind without distractions. The drink menu? A true stand-out. The whiskey selection is rich, diverse, and well-curated, offering everything from smooth classics to more experimental options. **ordered the old fashioned and it was mixed. I loved the cherry at the end. The food is no afterthought either. The pork tacos were flavorful, with just the right touch of spicy sauce. My only critique would be the pork could be tender and the tortillas could use a bit of toasting so they don't fall apart. The Dungeness smoked crab dip was rich and velvety, packed with a depth of flavor that was like a warm, comforting hug. It's clear the chef here knows how to elevate simple ingredients into something extraordinary. But the true showstopper? The sweet sticky toffee cake. It arrived at the table warm, with a perfect balance of sweetness and richness. The texture was flawless--soft, gooey, and oh-so-satisfying. It was the perfect end to an already stellar meal!!! My eyes closed with every bite. A hidden gem that effortlessly combines flavor, ambiance, and a grown-up atmosphere. Highly recommend! We didn't eat but had amazing cocktails. We took our drinks next door and sat in the lobby in front of the fireplace. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back

Cozy bar serving drinks and dinner. I love the old timey ambience and fireplace outside. We got the Sticky Toffee Cake to-go for a late night dessert and it's delicious. Rich but not overly sweet. The sponge was coffee-y cutting through the sweeter toffee sauce very well. Great portion for sharing too.

So good. A huge selection of drinks and friendly staff. I had a hot Jameson and it reminded me of Ireland. My husband enjoyed his whiskey sour and old fashion. We will be back.

We're visiting Cannon Beach for my boyfriend's birthday and stopped by the whiskey bar for some drinks. Patio area was great for a group around the fire pit. I ordered a whiskey sour but Gabe recommend the dark cherry whiskey sour (The Familiar) and it was 10/10. I even asked for the recipe but it's nothing I could ever recreate. Guess I have to come back next year!

Pulled pork, brisket TENDER & JUICY. I can't even describe how I had flashbacks to my time in Texas. I am now in a food coma and on my way to take a 8 hour power nap. If you are ever at Cannon Beach, and do not feel like eating fish and chips, please come here and do your taste buds a favor.

A good thing we arrived for lunch just as it opened as the 22 seats filled almost immediately. One of the three employees working seemingly spent much of his time serving as crowd control from potential customers trying to grab a table. Our drinks were great. My wife's Bloody Mary, was smoky, pepper-amped, tomatoey deliciousness. And with hats off to Jason Derulo and Michael Bublé, I loved my spicy margarita, baby. The Brisket Sandwich my wife ordered was a disappointment. As unapologetic brisket snobs formerly from Texas, this didn't meet our standards; it was overly dry. A common flaw, brisket is a very tough cut of meat which takes a lot of time, attention and yes, fat, to prepare properly. I had the Grilled Cheese with smoked duck breast added. It was almost great, props for ooey-gooeyness and points for the tender smoky meat. However the aioli/jam spread was a bit off-putting to me. Still, a very good sandwich.

The room alone almost made it worth my time. The English pea risotto was very good, and the house fries were good. The French-oaked flight I requested was a sad effort. The bartender never asked what distillers I had as options other than indicating that Makers 46 must be what I'm after when I said French oaked and creamy was my vibe, to which I raised an eyebrow and indicated I was ok if he started with that in my flight as a base for comparison. Otherwise he never asked whether I'd like to spend good money on something special (I would have said yes) and later claimed these were the only French-oaked bottles they even had in stock despite a claimed inventory of over 2,000 whiskeys. What arrived: Penelope Architect--nothing at all on the nose, something like wood paneling on the palate. Angel's Envy Triple Oak--tasted just like the Angel's Envy Rum Cask I can get at the supermarket. Maker's 46--the best of those three, yet still quintessentially basic as a wheated French-staved bargain buy, which, by the way, I never indicated I was there for. When I diplomatically indicated my that my flight was totally blasé and asked for one last pour in hopes of redeeming the experience, he brought me a redundant Maker's Heart Series in which the heart was made of mildly chocolate-inspired disappointment. Staff clearly put effort into educating and serving, and the environment is special enough that I hope to return with friends for that alone, even though I was rushed out due to a scheduled reservation needing my unscheduled seat. Ultimately the pours left me with an extremely unimpressive result and a future 0-for-2 that I'd be willing to risk in hopes of their redemption. Exceptionally impressive venue, if totally unimpressive flight curation.

I chose the Saville Painkiller Cobbler which was very similar to Piña Colada with Ube. The drink was such a pretty purple shade, dusted with purple sweet potato/taro powder, and served in a Pineapple shaped glass - so aesthetically pleasing and very easy on the palate! My husband got the Pandan Old Fashioned which was very delicious as well - silky, sweet, boozy with a strong Pandan forward profile. For snacks, we got the Shrimp Chips and the Whipped Ricotta with Soppressata that comes with a generous portion of 4 slices of Rustic bread. The shrimp chips were humongous and so light, airy and crispy with a delicate shrimp flavor. The presentation on the whipped ricotta was so beautiful, and it tasted so good with the Calabrian chili and Soppressata!
